कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता शमशेर सिंह सुरजेवाला ने दिल्ली के एम्स अस्पताल में अंतिम सांस ली।
शमशेर सिंह पांच बार विधायक चुने गए थे और वह एक बार राज्यसभा सदस्य चुने गए। वह हरियाणा कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष और पूर्व मंत्री भी रहे।शमशेर सिंह कांग्रेस के नेता और प्रवक्ता रणदीप सुरजेवाला के पिता थे
वह हरियाणा कृषक समाज के अध्यक्ष थे और उन्होंने किसानों के अधिकारों के लिए लड़ाई लड़ी।
शमशेर सिंह सुरजेवाला का अंतिम संस्कार हरियाणा के नरवाना में दोपहर को किया जाएगा।

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has sought a report from the CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front government for moving the Supreme Court against the Citizenship Amendment Act without informing him.
The office of Raj Bhavan sought the report from the state Chief Secretary of the state.
The Governor has been at loggerheads with the government ever since the state assembly passed a resolution last month, seeking to scrap the new law.
Khan had also publicly expressed his displeasure over the government not informing him moving moving the Supreme Court against the CAA.

Mrs Azmi was rushed to MGM Hospital in Navi Mumbai and was said to be out of danger, Her husband and lyricist Javed Akhtar, who was traveling with her, escaped unhurt.
The incident took place near Khalapur, over 60 km from Mumbai, when the Tata Safari car in which they were traveling to Pune rammed into a truck, said Raigad Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar.
A local police official said the car driver was apparently trying to overtake another vehicle and rammed into the truck.
Azmi is known for her path-breaking roles in films such as “Arth”, “Ankur”, “Paar”, “Masoom” and “Godmother”.

(नयी दिल्ली) समाचार प्रसारकों ने वित्त मंत्री से जीएसटी में प्रिंट मीडिया से समानता की मांग की
फिलहाल प्रिंट मीडिया पर जीएसटी पांच प्रतिशत है जबकि समाचार प्रसारकों पर 18 प्रतिशत जीएसटी लगता है।
न्यूज ब्रॉडकास्टर्स की कार्यकारी समिति के सदस्यों ने वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण से मिलकर अनुरोध किया है कि जीएसटी नियमों के तहत टीवी समाचार चैनलों को भी प्रिंट मीडिया उद्योग के समान समझा जाए।
प्रेस रिलीज के अनुसार, शुक्रवार को हुई इस बैठक में एनबीएफ अध्यक्ष अर्णब गोस्वामी ने समान व्यावसायिक प्रतिष्ठानों में समानता रखने की जरूरत के बारे में और देश में समाचार चैनलों के महत्व के बारे में बताया।
वित्त मंत्री ने एनबीएफ की ओर से दिया गया आवेदन स्वीकार कर लिया और मामले पर ध्यान देने का आश्वासन दिया।
एनबीएफ की ओर से गोस्वामी के अलावा उपाध्यक्ष जगी एम. पांडा और संजीव नारायण तथा महासचिव आर. जय कृष्ण मंत्री से मिलने गए थे।

While Makar Sankranti is a festival in the Hindu calendar which is dedicated to the Sun deity Surya, ‘Magh Bihu’ is when the annual harvest takes place.

Pongal is a four-day harvest festival dedicated to the Sun God.
In another Tweet PM Said “Pongal greetings to everyone. May this festival fill everyone’s lives with abundant prosperity. May everyone be blessed with good health,”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted people on Lohri, hoping that the festval brings joy and good health.
“Have a wonderful Lohri. May this special festival bring joy and good health in everyone’s lives,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter.
He posted the message in English, Hindi and Gurmukhi.
Lohri is celebrated in north India on January 13 to mark the end of peak winter and is also associated with the harvest of rabi crops.
