[Chd,Pb] Punjab’s Top Cop ‘Mustafa’ Resents Against Junior Cop Dinkar in DGP Post
His wife Razia Sultana is a minister in Amarinder Singh cabinet.
IPS officer Mohmmad Mustafa Friday asked the Punjab government to relieve him as the chief of the anti-drug Special Task Force as he is “senior” to newly appointed police chief Dinkar Gupta.
Mustafa, a 1985-batch officer, said he has requested the Chief Minister’s office to give me the charge of the state Human Rights Commission.
Notably, the Director General of Police (STF) reports to the DGP Punjab.
Mustafa will approach the Supreme Court for being “ignored” in the panel while alleging that there was a conspiracy to keep his name out.
UPSC meeting was held in Delhi to discuss the panels sent by the state government on February 4, Punjab state was represented by Punjab Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh and DGP Suresh Arora.
On Thursday, Gupta was appointed as the Director General of the Punjab Police.after superseding five officers who are
Smant Goel (who is on central deputation),
DGP (STF) Mohd Mustafa,
DGP (Law & Order) Hardeep Dhillon,
DGP (Internal Vigilance Cell) Jasminder Singh and
DGP (PSPCL) S Chattopadhayaya.
Dhillon and Jasminder are going to retire this year.
Gupta was chosen as the new DGP from the panel of three officers sent by the Union Public Service Commission.
The other two officers were DGP (Admin) M K Tiwari and DGP (Provisioning) V K Bhawra.

[New Delhi]Domestic Airlines owed Rs 2.4K cr Dues to AAI
Dues against foreign scheduled and non-scheduled airline operators stood at Rs 312.27 crore, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
However, specific date regarding the dues to be paid to the AAI was not disclosed.
“Dues, excluding penal interest, claim against domestic scheduled and non-scheduled airlines’ operators as on January 15, 2019 is Rs 2,448.41 crore,”
According to him,
SpiceJet’s dues stood at Rs 105.71 crore against security deposit of Rs 124.22 crore, while that of
GoAir was Rs 19.35 crore against security deposit of Rs 73.12 crore.
Sinha said that Kingfisher Airlines’ dues amounted to Rs 294.69 crore, including penal interest of Rs 119.39 crore.
AAI has already filed a court case on March 14, 2014 for recovery of dues from Kingfisher Airlines and has taken up the matter with SpiceJet for clearing the dues. The dues against GoAir are regular dues .
Kingfisher Airlines was grounded in 2012.

The Rajasthan government on Thursday started conducting camps at all the district headquarters for waiving off loans of farmers.
Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot inaugurated the camp at Sirsi road here and gave certificates to the farmers.
Similar camps were also started in other districts in which loan-waiver certificates will be given to the farmers.
“Congress president (Rahul Gandhi) had promised the loan-waiver to farmers and the decision of loan waiver was taken within two days of the government’s formation. We are executing this, which shows that Congress does what it says,” Pilot said at the function.
He accused the former Bharatiya Janata Party government of neglecting the interests of the farmers.
The government had also announced waiver of loans up to Rs 2 lakh (for defaulter farmers) from commercial banks.
Gehlot had on December 19 announced to waive off the farmers’ entire short-term crop loan from cooperative banks and agriculture loans up to Rs 2 lakh for defaulter farmers from nationalised and other banks.
