[Panjim,Goa,] Govt Slashes Corporate Tax to 25.17 % for Domestic Cos
Making the announcement, Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman said the new tax rate will be applicable from the current fiscal which began on April 1.
Sitharaman said the revenue foregone on reduction in corporate tax and other relief measures will be Rs 1.45 lakh crore annually.
This, she said is being done to promote investment and growth.
In effect, the corporate tax rate will be 22 %t for domestic companies, if they do not avail any incentive or concession.
The changes in the Income Tax Act and Finance Act will be made effective through an ordinance.
The minister also said companies opting for 22 %t income tax slab would not have to pay minimum alternative tax (MAT).
Sitharaman further said, new domestic manufacturing companies incorporated after October 1, can pay income tax at a rate of 15 %t without any incentives.
Meaning, effective tax rate for new manufacturing companies will be 17.01% inclusive of all surcharge and cess.
Sitharaman further said companies can opt for lower tax rate after expiry of tax holidays and concessions that they are availing now.

अमेरिका में ट्रम्प ने भी इस पर प्रतिबन्ध लगाया है|
केंद्र सरकार ने इलेक्ट्रानिक सिगरेट यानी ई- सिगरेट के उत्पादन, बिक्री, भंडारण, प्रचार, लाने-ले जाने और आयात- निर्यात को प्रतिबंधित करने के लिए बृहस्पतिवार को एक अध्यादेश जारी किया।
अध्यादेश के अनुसार,
पहली बार इसका उल्लंघन करने वालों को एक साल तक की सजा होगी और एक लाख रुपये तक का जुर्माना लगेगा। इस प्रतिबंध का लगातार उल्लंघन करने वालों को
तीन साल तक की सजा हो सकती है या पांच लाख रुपये का जुर्माना भी हो सकता है या दोनों सजाएं साथ हो सकती हैं।
ई-सिगरेट का भंडारण करने पर अब छह महीने तक की जेल की सजा हो सकती है और 50,000 रुपये का जुर्माना लग सकता है या जेल की सजा और जुर्माना दोनों देना पड़ सकता है।
वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने बुधवार को कहा था कि मंत्रिमंडल ने ई-सिगरेट पर रोक लगाने का निर्णय किया है। इसमें ई सिगरेट के उत्पादन, निर्माण, आयात, निर्यात, परिवहन, बिक्री, भंडारण सभी पर पूरी तरह रोक होगी।

Superstar Salman Khan says he will definitely come with a movie during Eid next year after his collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, “In-shaa-allah” got shelved.
.When asked about it, Salman told reporters, “A film will definitely come on Eid. First, it (Dabangg 3) will come on December 20, then a film will come on Eid also.”
The actor was speaking at the 20th edition of IIFA awards on Wednesday night.
Salman further said that the movie, which would have marked his first with Bhansali in two decades, will not happen with him.

at Houston’s mega “Howdy, Modi!” event on September 22
This is for the first time in recent history that the leaders of the two largest democracies Donald J Trump and Narendra Modi would be addressing a joint rally anywhere in the world.
More than 50,000 Indian-Americans from across the US have registered for the September 22 mega “Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures” event to be held at the sprawling NRG Stadium in Houston.
“Howdy”, short for ‘How do you do?’, is a friendly greeting commonly used in southwestern United States.
This would be the third meeting between the two leaders this year. The previous two were on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in June in Japan and in France in July on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.
In October 2016, Trump, then as Republican presidential nominee, had addressed a strong crowd of some 5,000 Indian-Americans in New Jersey, a few weeks away from his historic win in the November 2016 elections.
So far, Trump is the only presidential candidate to address the Indian-Americans solely during an election year. In his address, Trump had said that if elected, he would be the best friend of India in the White House.
The Houston event will be Modi’s third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the prime minister in 2014 and the first after his re-election in May.
The previous two were at the Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 and the Silicon Valley in 2016. Both the events were attended by more than 20,000 people.
The “Howdy, Modi!” event is being organised by non-profit Texas India Forum, a recently-formed representative body of hundreds of Indian American organisations in Texas and other parts of the US.

He had resigned as Punjab chief after losing to BJP’s Sunny Deol on Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat.
Jakhar had sent his resignation to then party president Rahul Gandhi, a day after 2019 Lok Sabha election results were declared on May 23.
Jakhar lost the Gurdaspur seat to actor-politician Deol by a margin of 82,459 votes.
He had won the seat in by-polls in October 2017. It had fallen vacant after the death of BJP MP Vinod Khanna.

14 सितंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा द्वारा हिंदी को राजभाषा का दर्जा दिया गया। हिंदी को देश की राजभाषा घोषित किए जाने के दिन ही हर साल हिंदी दिवस मनाने का भी फैसला किया गया,काव्य गोष्ठियों का आयोजन होने लगा |सरकारी कार्यालयों में हिंदी दिवस मनाने के बजट भी दिए जाने लगे लेकिन राष्ट्रभाषा का दर्जा देने को कोई 7 दशकों में हौंसला नही जुटा पाया
हालांकि पहला हिंदी दिवस 14 सितंबर 1953 को मनाया गया।लेकिन राजभाषा हिंदी को 7वें दशक में भी राष्ट्रभाषा नही बनाया जा सका
शुरू में हिंदी और अंग्रेजी दोनो को नए राष्ट्र की भाषा चुना गया और संविधान सभा ने देवनागरी लिपि वाली हिंदी के साथ ही अंग्रेजी को भी आधिकारिक भाषा के रूप में स्वीकार किया
लेकिन बहुत सी बोलियों और भाषाओं वाले हमारे देश में आजादी के बाद भाषा को लेकर एक बड़ा सवाल आ खड़ा हुआ।शायद इसीलिए हिंदी को पूर्णतया राष्ट्रभाषा का दर्जा नही मिला
अब प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्रमोदी ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र और अन्य विकसित देशों में उनके राष्ट्राध्यक्षों से हिंदी में वार्तालाप किये तो राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने भी स्विट्ज़र लैंड के बर्न विश्विद्यालय में हिंदी में ही भाषण देकर हिंदी को अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर स्थापित करने में सफलता पाई लेकिन एक अंतिम पड़ाव अभी भी पार करना शेष है

Hindi Divas is observed to mark the decision of the Constituent Assembly to extend official language status to Hindi on this day in 1949. Hindi Divas was first observed in 1953.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said the odd-even road rationing scheme will be implemented in Delhi from November 4 to 15.
Kejriwal said the move was aimed at combating high levels of air pollution in winters when crop burning takes place in neighbouring states.
The chief minister announced his seven-point action plan to tackle pollution due to crop burning which includes distribution of masks, mechanised sweeping of roads, tree plantation, and special plans for 12 pollution hot spots in the city.
Under the scheme, odd and even numbered vehicles ply on alternate days.
