Postpaid mobile services on all networks were restored in the Kashmir Valley on Monday, 72 days after they were snapped following restrictions.
Some 40 lakh postpaid mobile phones have become operational from Monday noon.
Restrictions were imposed after the Centre on August 5 abrogated the state’s special status and bifurcated it into Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, which will come into being on October 31.

‘ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड’ (ईसीएल) का बचाव दल पश्चिम बर्धमान जिला स्थित खान में जहरीली गैस के कारण अंदर नहीं घुस पा रहा है।
स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि घटना रविवार रात को उस समय हुई जब चार लोग कोयला निकाल रहे थे।

Congress MLA Bharat Singh accused Gehlot government of corruption and hindering the work.
Singh, who represents Sangod assembly constituency in Kota district, has written a letter to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot alleging corruption in the state’s mining department.
In the letter he has requested Gehlot to save the government from the “corrupt people” to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The central government wants to repair the highway stretch but the state mining department is raising obstacles, the letter said
He alleged that funds worth Rs 208.54 crore have been sanctioned for maintenance work on NH-27, but Officers creating hurdles on the directions of the minister and not issuing the requisite permission letter to the contractor for the maintenance work.

Last week, Punjab Chief Minister #CaptAmarinerSingh had invited President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Modi to attend the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev, including the historic opening of the Kartarpur corridor.
Kartarpur Sahib is located in Pakistan’s Narowal district across the Ravi River, about four kilometres from the Dera Baba Nanak shrine.
In a major initiative last November, both India and Pakistan had agreed to set up the Kartarpur corridor.
The corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims, who will have to just obtain a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib, established in 1522 by Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Prime of India
