(New Delhi)Gandhi Family’s Security Cover Reduced From SPG to Z+
The government has withdrawn the Special Protection Group (SPG) cover of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul and Priyanka, and they will now be given Z-plus security by the CRPF, officials said on Friday.
SPG cover was given to the family of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated by LTTE terrorists on May 21, 1991,
The Gandhis will be without SPG protection after 28 years. They were included in the VVIP security list following an amendment in September 1991 in the SPG Act of 1988.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will now be the only person being protected by the elite SPG commandos.
In August this year, the government withdrew the SPG cover of former prime minister Manmohan Singh.
The SPG Act, enacted by Parliament in 1988, was initially supposed to provide security to only the prime minister and former prime ministers of the country.

पाकिस्तान के खिलाड़ी प्रधानमंत्री इमरान खान ने करतारपुर गलियारा का इस्तेमाल कर गुरुद्वारा दरबार साहिब आने वाले भारतीय सिख श्रद्धालुओं के लिये एक साल तक पासपोर्ट की शर्त हटा दी है। इसके उलट पाकिस्तानी सेना के एक प्रवक्ता ने पहले कहा था कि तीर्थयात्रियों को पासपोर्ट की जरूरत होगी।
इससे पहले, पाकिस्तानी सेना के प्रवक्ता मेजर जनरल आसिफ गफूर ने कहा कि करतारपुर साहिब आने वाले भारतीय तीर्थयात्रियों को करतारपुर गलियारे का इस्तेमाल करने के लिये पासपोर्ट की जरूरत होगी। इसके बाद पासपोर्ट पर स्थिति को लेकर थोड़ा भ्रम हो गया था।
एक नवंबर को, प्रधानमंत्री खान ने करतापुर गलियारे का निर्माण पूरा होने की ट्विटर पर घोषणा करते हुए कहा था कि उन्होंने दो शर्तों को माफ कर दिया है। इनमें से एक पासपोर्ट से जुड़ी शर्त थी जबकि दूसरी शर्त भारत से करतारपुर तीर्थयात्रा पर आने वाले सिखों द्वारा 10 दिन पहले पंजीकरण कराने से जुड़ी थी।
उन्होंने कहा था कि भारत के सिख श्रद्धालुओं को करतारपुर आने के लिए पासपोर्ट की नहीं बल्कि एक वैध पहचान-पत्र की जरूरत होगी।

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal flagged off on Thursday 100 standard floor buses equipped with hydraulic lifts, CCTV cameras and panic button under the cluster scheme.
He said in the next 6-7 months, 3,000 buses, including 1,000 electric buses, will be added to the public transport fleet in the national capital.
With the addition of these 100 new buses, the cluster bus fleet operated by the Delhi Integrated Multi Modal System (DIMTS), will now be 1,904.
The 100 new buses that were rolled out on Thursday are part of a total 1,000 standard floor, non air-conditioned buses to be procured under the cluster scheme.

A contract employee Ramakrishnan, hailing from Vandoor in the district, had been working as a part-time sweeper for the past 30 years.
Union leaders said the contract employees had not been getting salary for the past 10 months and they were on an agitation since the past 130 days, demanding payment of salary dues.
Since June 24, the employees under the BSNL Casual Contract Labour Union (CCLU), affiliated to the CITU, has been protesting over non-payment of pending wages.
BSNL CCLU working president K Mohanan had alleged the current crisis in the BSNL was due to the Centre’s move to promote Reliance Jio by denying BSNL permission for 4G services.
The ailing BSNL had also notified a voluntary retirement scheme days after the government approved its merger with MTNL.

Talking to reporters ahead of the meeting of Shiv Sena MLAs with Thackeray, Raut said legislators of his party and the opposition Congress and NCP “would not cross sides”.
The BJP and the Shiv Sena are engaged in a bitter tug-of-war over the latter’s demand for equal distribution of portfolios and sharing the chief minister’s post.
The BJP has rejected the Sena’s demand for sharing the chief minister’s post for two-and-a-half years each.
The tenure of the present Assembly ends on November 9.

पंचकूला की एक अदालत ने 2017 में हिंसा के एक मामले में डेरा सच्चा सौदा प्रमुख गुरमीत राम रहीम की अम्बाला जेल में बंद दत्तक पुत्री हनीप्रीत इन्सां को बुधवार को एक लाख ₹ के मुचलके पर जमानत दे दी।
पिछले शनिवार को यहां एक अन्य अदालत ने हिंसा के संबंध में उसके खिलाफ राजद्रोह के आरोप भी हटा दिए थे।
गौरतलब है कि डेरा प्रमुख को बलात्कार के मामलों में दोषी ठहराने के बाद हुई हिंसा में 30 से अधिक लोगों की मौत हो गयी थी और 200 से अधिक लोग घायल हो गए थे।

लेखिका रीता गुप्ता सुप्रसिद्ध बॉलीवुड कलाकारहरिभाई जरीवाला उर्फ संजीव कुमार की आधिकारिक जीवनी लिख रही हैं। इसके लिए वह संजीव कुमार के भतीजे उदय जरीवाला की सहायता ले रही हैं।
दस्तक, कोशिश, आंधी, शोले, मौसम और अंगूर जैसी कालजयी फिल्मों में काम करने वाले कुमार को हिंदी सिनेमा के बेहतरीन अदाकारों में से एक माना जाता है। उन्होंने अपने जीवन में बहुत से उम्रदराज चरित्र निभाए किंतु दिल की बीमारी के कारण छह नवंबर, 1985 को 47 वर्ष की आयु में उनकी मृत्यु हो गयी थी।
उदय जरीवाला ने संजीव कुमार की 34वीं पुण्यतिथि पर एक वक्तव्य में कहा, “मेरे चाचा की जीवनी बहुत पहले लिखी जानी चाहिए थी। जब रीता गुप्ता ने उनकी जीवनी लिखने के लिए संपर्क किया तो मुझे बहुत प्रसन्नता हुई।’’
