The Prime Minister, of India Narendra Modi has called citizens to take part in the auction of gifts and mementos. He said that the proceeds would go to the Namami Gange initiative.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;

“Over time, I have received several gifts and mementos which are being auctioned. This includes the special mementos given by our Olympics heroes. Do take part in the auction. The proceeds would go to the Namami Gange initiative.”

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh asked to Step Down
So he has submitted his papers to Governor ,ahead of the crucial Congress Legislature Party meeting in Chandigarh on Saturday evening
Earlier in the day, Amarinder Singh spoke to Congress president Smt Sonia Gandhi and expressed his anguish and displeasure over his repeated “humiliation”
Elections in the state are due in about four months
I feel humiliated…,” Singh told reporters outside the Punjab Raj Bhawan after submitting his resignation to the governor.
He submitted his resignation along with that of his council of ministers
Singh’s resignation came hours before a crucial meeting of the Congress Legislature Party on Saturday evening.
“The thing is that this is the third time the party called the MLAs.
You have an element of doubt on me…. I feel humiliated,” he told reporters.
“I have resigned,” he said, adding that the Congress can make anyone the leadership trusts the chief minister.
Asked about his future course of action, he said, “As far as my future politics is concerned, there is always an option and I will use that option when time comes.”
“I am in the Congress party. I will talk to my supporters and decide future course of politics,” he said.
Singh said he decided this morning to resign from his post and that he had spoken to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and informed her about his decision.
Singh was accompanied by his wife and MP Preneet Kaur and son Raninder Singh when he submitted his resignation to Governor Banwarilal Purohit.
“I am proud to accompany my father to Raj Bhawan when he submits his resignation as CM of Punjab and leads us as head of our family into a new beginning,” Raninder Singh said in a tweet earlier.

(Gandhinagar, Guj)First-term MLA Bhupendra Patel Takes Over Baton as 17th CM:Gujarat .Patel (59), unanimously elected BJP legislature party leader on Sunday, was sworn in as the state’s 17th chief minister by Governor Acharya Devvrat at a simple ceremony at Raj Bhavan.Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Goa CM Pramod Sawant and Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai were present,Patel’s predecessor Vijay Rupani and former deputy chief minister Nitin Patel were among those present at the ceremony.As decided by the party, only Patel took the oath. The council of ministers will take oath during the !next few days after their names are finalised, BJP sources said.
The Patidars are a dominant caste in Gujarat with a sizeable control over the electoral votes and dominate the political economy with a stronghold over education, realty and cooperative sectors.
Patel’s elevation – he is the first from the Patidar sub-group to be chief minister – is key to BJP’s plans to woo the Kadva Patidar community, which some political observers feel, has drifted away from the party.
He is a trustee of Sardardham, the Patidar community organisation that hosted the programme where Modi was the chief guest on Saturday.
Born in Ahmedabad, Patel is an MLA from the Ghatlodia seat, previously held by former chief minister and now Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. He won the seat by over 1.17 lakh votes in 2017, the highest margin in that poll. Ghatlodia is part of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency represented by Shah.
Patel has never held a ministerial post, just like Modi, who was never a minister when he became Gujarat CM 20 years ago. Modi was sworn in as CM on October 7, 2001, and became an MLA on February 24, 2002, by winning a bypoll.
