Festival will be organised by the Punjab government on March 16 and 17.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the representatives of Punjab Film Producers Association, Mohali and North Zone Film and TV Artists’ Association, Mohali.
Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi presided over the meeting.
Dedicated to Punjabi language, the mega event will be organized by the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department in collaboration with the Punjab Film Producers Association and North Zone Film & TV Artist Association
A documentary film about the Punjabi film industry will be also screened during the event along with the other famous films
Additional Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Lakhmir Singh and representatives of both the associations were also present during the meeting.

The counterfeit notes with a face value of Rs 17.77 lakh were seized from them
n the other case, four members of a gang were held and fake notes with a face value of Rs 8.5 lakh (in denomination of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500) and printing materials were seized from them

(अलीगढ़ ,यूपी) अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रॉक्टर ने छात्रों के दबाब में इस्तीफा दिया
छात्रों के दबाव में अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय के प्रॉक्टर प्रोफेसर अफीफुल्लाह खान ने मंगलवार को इस्तीफा दे दिया। उन्होंने इस्तीफा देने का कारण नहीं बताया है।
छात्र समन्वय समिति ने 15 दिसंबर को परिसर में हुई हिंसा के मद्देनजर विश्वविद्यालय के प्रमुख अधिकारियों के इस्तीफे की मांग की थी, उसके एक दिन बाद प्रॉक्टर ने इस्तीफा दिया है।
एएमयू के प्रवक्ता ओमर पीरजादा के अनुसार इस्तीफा स्वीकार हो गया है
कुलपति ने उनके स्थान पर कानून विभाग के प्रोफेसर वासिम अली को नया प्रॉक्टर नियुक्त किया है।

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai, in written replies to questions regarding preparation and updation of National Population Register (NPR), in Lok Sabha today, said that population register is a register containing details of persons usually residing in a village or rural area or town or ward or demarcated area within a ward in a town or urban area.
NPR was first prepared in 2010 and updated in 2015. In pursuance
Shri Rai stated the demographic and other particulars of each family and individual are to be updated/collected. No document is to be collected during the exercise; Aadhaar number is collected voluntarily.
On the question regarding preparation of National Register of Citizens, Shri Rai said that till now, the Government has not taken any decision to prepare National Register of Indian Citizens (NRIC) at the National level.

Two earlier posititve cases, also of students who came back from Wuhan, the epicentre of the virus, were reported from Thrissur and Alapuzha districts.

As per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Cabinet Secretary held a high level review meeting on the preparedness for Novel Coronavirus with Secretaries of Health and Family Welfare,External Affairs, Home Affairs, Civil Aviation, Dept of Health Research, and representatives fromITBP, AFMS and NDMA, here today. Cabinet Secretary has held six review meetings so far.
A new Travel Advisory has been issued urging everyone to refrain from travel to China; travellers on return could be quarantined. Also, anyone with travel history of China since 15th Jan 2020 and from now on could be quarantined.
As of today, 58,658 passengers from 445 flights have been screened. Total of 142 symptomatic travellers picked up by the IDSP have been referred to the isolation facilities. 130 samples have been tested of which 128 have been found to be negative. The two positive cases found in Kerala are being monitored and areclinically stable.
The second batch of 330 passengers (including 7 Maldivan citizens)from Wuhan have arrived in India. Of these, 300 (including 7 Maldivan citizens) are housed at ITBP Chawla Camp and 30 are in Manesar. They are being effectively monitored.

Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar has been posted as Principal Secretary to Irrigation and Command Area Development Department, a government order (GO) issued on Sunday.
Special Chief Secretary (political) Adhar Sinha and Special Chief Secretary (housing) Chitra Ramachandran were posed as Special Chief Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department and Special Chief Secretary of Education Department respectively.
This is a major reshuffle after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took over the reins for the second time after the Assembly polls in November 2018.

NPAs of PSBs Declined to ₹ 7.27 Lakh Crore

(New Delhi)NPAs of PSBs Stood @ ₹ 7.27 Lakh Crore
The government on Monday said the Non Performing Assets (NPAs) of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) stood at Rs 7.27 lakh crore as on September 30, 2019.
Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur also said in Lok Sabha that scheduled commercial banks and select financial institutions have reported frauds to the tune of Rs 1,13,374 crore in the first half of the current financial year.
Thakur said during Question Hour that as a result of transparent recognition of stressed assets as NPAs, gross NPAs of PSBs, as per RBI data on global operations, rose from Rs 2,79,016 crore as on March 31, 2015, to Rs 6,84,732 crore as on March 31, 2017 and Rs 8,95,601 crore as on March 31, 2018.
As a result of Government’s strategy of recognition, resolution, recapitalisation and reforms, have since declined by Rs 1,68,305 crore to Rs 7,27,296 crore as on September 30, 2019
The minister said systematic and comprehensive checking, including of legacy stock of NPAs of PSBs,for frauds under the framework has been taken note of by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its Financial Stability Report of December 2019, where it has observed that this has helped unearth frauds perpetrated over a number of years.
This is reflected in the increased amount involved in frauds of Rs. 1 lakh and above, reported by Scheduled Commercial Banks and select financial institutions, from Rs 23,934 crore in the financial year (FY) 2016-17 to Rs 41,167 crore in FY2017-18, Rs 71,543 crore in FY2018-19, and Rs 1,13,374 crore in the first half of the current financial year
