[New Delhi] Kohli No 1 Tweet Thanks Fans for their Virat Support
India’s No 1 batsman Virat Kohli today took to micro-blogging site twitter to thank all the fans, who backed the team during their ICC World T20 campaign that ended with a semi-final loss against the West Indies.
“Thank You for a memorable tournament Thank You everyone for supporting us & cheering for us relentlessly,” Kohli tweeted.
Arjuna Award Winner Kohli has been India’s lone star in the tournament with 273 runs to his credit including three unbeaten match-winning half-centuries against Pakistan+Australia+ West Indies.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today visited the spot of the flyover collapse in which 24 people were killed and said he had come to extend support to the victims and did not want to politicise the issue.
Later Rahul met the injured people in the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital and said he had come here to extend his support to the victims.
When asked to comment on the allegations of lapses in the construction of the flyover, Gandhi said, “I have come here to meet the injured. I’ll not talk about politics.”

An under-construction flyover collapsed in the city leaving at least 24 dead on Thursday. Police last night arrested three top officials of the Hyderabad based construction company which was building the flyover and slapped murder charges on them.

Aadhaar enrolments are set to cross the 100 crore mark in a couple of days, which will boost the governments plan to provide subsidies and benefits under various social sector schemes directly.
As per the website of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which is implementing the Aadhaar project, “99.91 crore is the total number of Aadhaars issued as on date.
Portal counts/reports are not updated due to maintenance activities. Portal will be updated shortly.”
Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will hold a press conference on Monday to announce the 100 crore mark of Aadhaar enrolments.
The government has already passed the Aadhaar Bill, providing statutory backing to the scheme.
The government wants to complete the enrolment process under the unique identification project at the earliest to use Aadhaar as a tool to provide subsidies and benefits under various social sector schemes directly.
Under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme, benefits like scholarships+pension+ cooking gas subsidy are directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
The government intends to use Aadhaar as a tool to authenticate the identity of people to weed out ghost beneficiaries and plug leakages in spending on various social sector schemes.

The HRD ministry today said normalcy has been restored at NIT Srinagar, which witnessed clashes between local and non-local students over India’s defeat in the semi final clash with West Indies in the ongoing World T20 Cup.
As per a statement released by the ministry, Rajat Gupta, Director NIT Srinagar reassured the students, faculty and parents that the temporary situation arising out of tensions from disappointment at the outcome of the cricket match on 31st March had been overcome.
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) was shut down yesterday till further orders in the wake of clashes between local and non-local students over India’s defeat in yesterday’s semi final clash with West Indies in the ongoing World T20 Cup.
The HRD Ministry said that the district administration and local authorities had extended the fullest cooperation, enabling the situation to be contained.
“The group of students have been counselled in the presence of senior officials,”
The Director, NIT Srinagar, assured the parents, students and all concerned that there is no cause for apprehension and students are safe, secure and on campus,

हरियाणा सरकार ने अपनी योजनाओं के तहत राज्य अनुसूचित जाति वित्त एवं विकास निगम की संशोधित गरीबी रेखा सीमाओं के अंगीकार को मंजूरी दी है।
एक सरकारी प्रवक्ता के अनुसार बैंक से सहायताप्राप्त योजनाओं के तहत ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में 40,500 रूपए से कम की वाषिर्क आय वाले परिवार गरीबी रेखा [बीपीएल]के अंतर्गत माने जाएंगे।
इसी तरह शहरी क्षेत्र में 51,500 रूपए से कम वाषिर्क आय वाले परिवार भी [बीपीएल] के तहत माने जाएंगे।
राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति वित्त एवं विकास निगम से सहायता प्राप्त योजनाओं के तहत
ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में 81,000 रूपए से कम की वाषिर्क आय तथा
शहरी क्षेत्रों में 1,03000 रूपए से कम की वाषिर्क आय वाले परिवार गरीबी रेखा से दोहरे नीचे [डीपीएल]:के अंतर्गत समझे जायेंगे।

७७ वर्षीय अधिवक्ता धनी राम को ऑटो चुराने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है
दिल्ली पुलिस ने 77 साल के एक बुजुर्ग धनी राम को राष्ट्रीय राजधानी और आसपास के राज्यों में आटो चुराने के 125 से अधिक मामलों में और अन्य आपराधिक मामलों में कथित संलिप्तता के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है।
डीसीपी :पश्चिम: पुष्पेन्द्र कुमार के अनुसार कभी पेशे से अधिवक्ता रहा धनीराम मित्तल चंडीगढ़ में भगोड़ा अपराधी है और उसे ‘‘सुपर नटवरलाल’’ तथा कार चुराने वाले नेटवर्कों में ‘‘भारतीय चार्ल्स शोभराज’’ के नाम से जाना जाता है।
मित्तल को रोहिणी की अदालत के पास से गिरफ्तार किया गया।

Television actress Pratyusha Banerjee, best known for her portrayal of Anandi in the popular serial “Balika Vadhu”, was found dead at her suburban residence today under mysterious circumstances.
A local police officer also Confirmed TV Actress death But did not give further details.
It is suspected that Banerjee, who participated in “Bigg Boss 7” and “Jhalak Dikhla Jha”, committed suicide by hanging.
She was also seen in “Sasural Simar Ka”, another popular TV series aired on Colors channel.
Her last TV show was “Hum Hain Naa”.
Pakistani Sardar Tara Singh Elected Caretaker President Of PSGPC
[Lahore,Pakistan]Pak Sikhs Elects Sardar Tara Singh as a Caretaker President Of PSGPC.
Pakistan’s Sikh religious body today elected a caretaker president after its first chief Sardar Sham Singh died this week.
Sardar Tara Singh was elected the caretaker ‘Pardhan’ at an emergency meeting of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee here. Tara Singh, who is in his 40s, is the youngest member of the 10-member PSGPC.
All other nine-members of the committee unanimously elected Tara Singh, a graduate from Sindh province who has business interests in cotton trading.
The meeting was called to elect the successor of Sardar Sham Singh, who died of brain hemorrhage on Sunday. The 80-year-old Sham Singh was elected the first president of the PSGPC after it was established by Pakistan government in 1998.
He was re-elected for several other terms including in 2015. Sham Singh has been credited with changing the face of Sikh shrines in Muslim-dominated Pakistan, which before his taking over as the president were a symbol of neglect.
Today’s emergency meeting was presided over by Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman Saddiqul Farooq. The ETPB looks after the holy places of the minorities in Pakistan
