Addressing a rally in this coastal Odisha town on completion of two years of his government, he called for a ‘balanced’ development in the country and wondered why the eastern belt had remained backward despite being generously bestowed with natural resources.

I do not doubt the intention of those who gave this slogan. The intention may have been good but the path they chose to eradicate poverty was certainly wrong because poverty, unemployment and disease grew.”
He said governments are not for the rich, but the poor and they should work towards fighting poverty.
Till the time scientific solutions to the problems are found, poverty will not be eradicated, he said.

Giving Two Years Report Card Of Her Ministry Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal Says ,Ministry of Food Processing Industries Will Reduce Wastage Of Eatables @ Rs 9200 Croes Every Year .She Highlighted Projects Of Swadeshi+Sampada.
Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal along with MoS Food Processing Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti held an interactive session with media and highlighted various initiatives of the Government. Minister said that one of the major achievements in regard to transforming Food Economy through Food Processing has been creation of huge 32 Lakh MT Capacity worth Rs.9000 crores within two years which shall reduce wastage by 10% per annum i.e. Rs.9200 crores every year.
India has started moving toward Zero Tolerance of Food Wastages. Emphasizing the need to adopt Zero Tolerance on food wastages by all departments connected to food, Smt. Badal said that initiatives of MoFPI have now started bearing fruits and her target is to bring down the food wastages to zero level.
She highlighted the way she piloted the 100% FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) into Multi Brand Retail of Swadeshi Food produced and manufactured in India as one of the major steps along with the creation of huge capacity by way of 37 Mega Food Parks and 134 Cold Chain projects.
Further, Minister also announced that Ministry shall be announcing 100 Cold Chain Projects and a SAMPADA scheme focusing on seamless agri cluster development in the current year that shall take food processing industries to the next level.
Government has sanctioned 37 Mega Food Parks out of which 8 have been operationalized (6 in 2 years of NDA tenure vs 2 in 10 years of UPA tenure).
Out of 134 Cold Chain Projects sanctioned 81 have been completed (44 in 2 years of NDA tenure vs. 37 during UPA tenure). Through Cold Chains alone, we have added a capacity of 1.28 Lakh Metric ton of Cold Storages/CA/MA, 53.05 MT per hour of Individual Quick Freeze (IQF), 19 lakh litres per day of Milk Processing and 240 Reefer vans, said the Hon’ble Minister.
A Special Fund of Rs.2000 crores has been set up in NABARD to make available affordable credit to agro processing units in the designated food parks.
Minister also announced that the Ministry shall be launching a Mobile App to provide ONE STOP information to farmers/ entrepreneurs to provide necessary skill set to them for setting up food processing units.
Briefing about tax incentives Minister said that in last two years, Excise Duty on machinery for processing has been reduced from 10% to 6%.

4 Indian fishermen were today arrested by Sri Lankan Naval from Neduntheevu, a small island near Jaffna in the north of the neighbouring nation.
This is the second instance of arrest of fishermen from Tamil Nadu this week after the detention of seven persons from here on Tuesday, on the very first day they put out to sea at the end of 45-day breeding season ban on fishing by trawlers.
The four fishermen from Kottaipattinam in Pudukottai District were arrested this morning and had been taken to Kangesanthurai Port for interrogation by Sri Lankan officials, Assistant Director of Fisheries Sekar said.
In another mid-sea incident, the fishing nets of 15 boats of fishermen from here were allegedly snapped by Sri Lankan navalmen when they were fishing near katchateevu.
The fishermen from this island, on board 697 boats, were fishing in the Palk Strait when the Lankan navalmen chased away many found fishing in their territory, local fishermen association President T Sesuraj said.
The association had yesterday condemned the arrest of the seven fishermen and urged Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to seek the Centre’s intervention and arrange for talks between the fishermen community of the two countries to resolve the dispute over fishing in “traditional” areas (Katchatheevu).
Jayalalithaa had already written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention to secure the release of the seven fishermen and boats in the custody of Sri Lanka.

65 वर्षीय खान को रात करीब 12:30 बजे बांद्रा स्थित होली फैमिली अस्पताल ले जाया गया जहां डाक्टरों ने उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया। उनका अंतिम संस्कार कल बायकुला में नारियलवाड़ी कब्रिस्तान में किए जाने की संभावना है।

पंजाब कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने कहा कि राहुल गांधी के लिए कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष के तौर पर उनकी मां श्रीमती सोनिया गांधी से कामकाज संभालने का यह सही समय है।
प्रदेशाध्यक्ष ने प्रियंका गांधी वड्रा के सक्रिय राजनीति में प्रवेश की भी वकालत की।
सिंह ने संवाददाता सम्मेलन में कहा,
‘‘सोनिया गांधी एक अद्भुत नेता हैं। मैंने यह इसलिए कहा है क्योंकि वह पिछले 20 साल से [कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष के रूप में] काम कर रहीं हैं। अगर उन्हें लगता है कि यह जिम्मेदारी नयी पीढ़ी को देने का समय आ गया है तो उन्हें देनी चाहिए और हम पूरी तरह राहुल का समर्थन करेंगे।
वह इस प्रश्न का उत्तर दे रहे थे कि क्या कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष के लिए सोनिया गांधी से जिम्मेदारी अपने हाथ में लेने का समय आ गया है।
सिंह ने कहा, ‘‘देखिए, उन्होंने मुझसे इस बारे में बात नहीं की है। लेकिन हमें जो पता चल रहा है कि वह अब महसूस कर रही हैं कि नयी पीढ़ी के लिए समय आ गया है, जो आज हर कोई कह रहा है।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘हम यह इसलिए भी कह रहे हैं कि भारत की 70 प्रतिशत आबादी 40 साल से कम की है। वह भी यह बात जानती हैं। हो सकता है कि वह महसूस कर रहीं हों कि वह इसे नयी पीढ़ी को सौंप दें। मुझे लगता है कि इसमें कुछ नया नहीं है।’’ जब पूछा गया कि क्या राहुल इसी महीने कामकाज संभाल सकते हैं तो अमरिंदर ने कहा, ‘‘देखिए, मुझे यह नहीं पता। अगर सोनियाजी राहुलजी को कमान देना चाहती हैं तो मुझे लगता है कि सब समर्थन करेंगे।’’ सोनिया के बारे में उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘उन्होंने १९९७ से वाकई बहुत मेहनत की है।

[१]एनएच-3 निवासी डा शिखा विनायकने पुलिस में शिकायत दी कि उसका पति डा. पंकुश अरोडा शादी के बाद से ही दहेज की मांग को लेकर उसे प्रताडित कर जान से मारने की धमकी देता है। पीडिता ने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि उसका पति उसके साथ अप्राकृतिक दुष्कर्म करता था।
[२] एनटीपीसी टाउनशिप तिगांव निवासी कांता शर्माके अनुसार उसका पति सुरेंद्र+ससुर छतरपाल+सास मर्ति देवी+जेठ लक्ष्मी नारायण+ननद पूनम+राजेश व सोनी रावत निवासी तिलपत प्रताडित कर रहे हैं।
उसने आरोप लगाया कि उसका पति उससे अप्राकृतिक दुष्कर्म करता था।

[५]सुभाष कालोनी बल्लभगढ निवासी भावना ने पुलिस में शिकायत दी कि उसका पति प्रेम, देवर रावशंकर, श्रीमती सुमन, मोहर सिंह व कमल सिंह दहेज़ के लिए प्रताडित कर रहे हैं।
[६] सेक्टर-30 ऐतमादपुर निवासी सविता ने पुलिस में शिकायत दी कि शादी के बाद से ही दहेज की मांग को लेकर उसे उसका पति अमित ओर सास उसे प्रताडित कर रहे हैं।
पोलिस प्रवक्ता के अनुसार पुलिस ने सभी मामले दर्ज करके जांच आरंभ कर दी गई है। :

The National Green Tribunal has asked the Centre to respond to the plea of an environment enthusiast alleging that large scale burning of municipal solid waste in Agra was turning the Taj Mahal yellow.
The green panel also restrained civic authorities from burning municipal solid waste and other waste in open in Agra and the areas around the eco-sensitive Taj Trapezium Zone.
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar issued notices to Ministry of Environment & Forests, Ministry of Urban Development, Uttar Pradesh government, Central Pollution Control Board and others while seeking their reply in two weeks.
The order came on a plea filed by Agra resident and green activist D K Joshi, who claimed a joint study by IIT-Kanpur, Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Wisconsin had revealed that “brown and black carbons along with dust” were responsible for giving yellow tinge to the 17th century white marble monument.
“Subsequent to the report, the parliamentary standing committee on environment passed several directions to the Agra administration to curb pollution in the city.
The drains and canals have been converted into sewer lines which fall directly into River Yamuna without any treatment by the various authorities including Nagar Nigam Agra, Agra Development Authority, Cantonment Board and areas falling under the TTZ Authority
