[Panaji,Goa] 2.5 Kg Smuggled Gold @ Rs 70 Lac,Hidden In National Carrier’s Toilet, Seized
2.5 kg of gold jewellery concealed in a toilet of an Air India flight, which today arrived at Goa airport from Dubai, was seized by the Customs and Central Excise officials.
The flight left for Bengaluru from Goa after the Customs officials completed their formalities.
This is the third such instance of unclaimed gold being found in Air India flight which arrived from Dubai to Goa this year,

Expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa says she will not resign from Rjaya Sabha
Expelled AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP M Sasikala Pushpa, who is facing sexual harassment case filed by her two domestic aides, today told reporters here that she would not resign from the Upper House.She Arrived from Singapore.
Sasikala, who was expelled from AIADMK earlier this month, said she will be appearing before the Madras High Court’s Madurai bench to respond to an allegation of having played fraud on the court while filing an anticipatory bail application registered by Thoothukudi police against her and her family members for allegedly ill-treating and sexually abusing two domestic aides.
The court had directed the MP to appear before it today and explain how she could have signed a petition in Madurai on August 17 authorising her lawyer to argue the advance bail plea on behalf of her when the police claimed that she did not enter Tamil Nadu ever since the case was registered early this month.
Sasikala proceeded to Madurai from here in a domestic flight from Chennai Airport.
On August 11, the Delhi High Court had asked Tamil Nadu government not to take any coercive action till August 22 against the expelled AIADMK MP, her husband and their son in the case.
The domestic servants, who reportedly worked at Pushpa’s house in Tamil Nadu, had filed a police complaint alleging that they were tortured and sexually harassed.
The High Court had also asked her family to approach the appropriate court in Tamil Nadu for relief by then.
The Supreme Court had on August 26 granted protection from the arrest to her for six weeks in the case.
She was expelled from the AIADMK after an altercation with DMK MP Tiruchi Siva at the Delhi airport earlier last month. Since then she has alleged that she was being threatened into resigning from her post

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said “Ekta” (unity) and “Mamata” (love) are the basic mantras for addressing the Kashmir problem He Also slammed those pushing children to create unrest, saying they will have to give answers to those “innocent” kids some day.
He emphasised that if any life is lost in Kashmir, whether of any youth or any securityman, “that loss is ours, of our own country”.
Speaking on the unrest in the valley in his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi said, “From the interactions I had with all parties on Kashmir, one thing emerged from those, which can be put in simple words as ‘Ekta’ and ‘Mamata’. These two things were the basic mantra.”
He said all the political parties had spoken in one voice on Kashmir, sending out a “message to the world as well as separatist forces” besides conveying “our sentiments to the people of Kashmir”.
He equated it to the passage of landmark GST Bill by Parliament for which all the parties came together.
Modi said.”It is the view of all of us, the view of 125 crore people from a pradhan of a village to the Prime Minister, that if any life is lost in Kashmir, whether of any youth or any securityman, that loss is ours, our own country,”
At the same time, he slammed “those people who push small children to try to create unrest in Kashmir”, saying “some day, they will have to give answers to these innocent children”.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came a day after Jammu and Kashmir Chief MInister Mehbooba Mufti met him and presented a “three-pronged action plan” that includes dialogue with all stakeholders.

दिल्ली के “श्री मध्यानंद वेदार्श महाविद्यालय न्यास” गुरकुल में अध्ययनरत 480 से अधिक अनाथ बच्चों के बचाव में आते हुए दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने केंद्र और “आप” सरकार को निर्देश दिया है कि वे संस्थान में रियायती दरों पर अनाज आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कोई समाधान निकालें।
न्यायमूर्ति संजीव सचदेवा ने यह निर्देश श्री मध्यानंद वेदार्श महाविद्यालय न्यास की याचिका पर दिया । न्यास ने अपनी याचिका में कहा कि उसे अक्तूबर 2015 से इस साल मार्च तक के लिए आवंटित अनाज की आपूर्ति नहीं होने से उच्च दरों पर अनाज खरीदने को विवश होना पड़ा ।
गुरकुल में लगभग 486 अनाथ बच्चे रहते हैं और पढ़ाई करते हैं । इसने कहा कि उक्त अवधि के लिए उसे आवंटित अनाज की आपूर्ति केंद्र और दिल्ली के बीच ‘‘कुछ कठिनाइयों’’ की वजह से नहीं हो सकी ।
केंद्र ने कहा कि आवंटन इसलिए जारी नहीं किया गया क्योंकि पूर्व की अवधि का उपयोग प्रमाणपत्र समय पर जमा नहीं कराया गया था और यह उसे इस साल मई में भेजा गया ।
केंद्र ने यह भी कहा कि बाद की अवधि के लिए आवंटन मार्च 2016 से जारी कर दिया गया है ।
दिल्ली सरकार के वकील ने इस बारे में जानकारी लेने के लिए समय मांगा कि केंद्र को उपयोग प्रमाणपत्र समय पर जमा क्यों नहीं कराया गया ।
उच्च न्यायालय ने दोनों सरकारों को नोटिस जारी करते हुए सुनवाई की अगली तारीख 15 सितंबर को उनका जवाब मांगा है

The Centre has refuted in Delhi High Court the claim that civil aviation authorities are overlooking the alleged violation of aircraft maintenance schedules by airlines, endangering passenger safety.
The Civil Aviation Ministry and the Director General for Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) denied that various private airlines operating in the country were “violating/circumventing the mandatory provisions for airworthiness and air safety”.
The submission was made before a bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal during hearing of a PIL alleging that aviation authorities were overlooking the prescribed maintenance schedules and sought directions to them to ensure safety of passengers on aircraft flying in and out India.
The counsel for the ministry submitted that till date they have not received any complaint regarding any deficiency in aircraft services.
It further said that the petitioner, advocate Alok Kumar, was a frequent flyer, yet he was alleging there were no safety measures in the flights.
The bench then asked the petitioner to give suggestions with regard to safety requirements in aircraft and listed the matter for further hearing on October 19.
The aviation authorities response came in view of Kumar’s plea seeking direction to DGCA, the regulatory body governing aviation safety, “to formulate a procedure to systematically and periodically monitor and ensure that all airlines follow aircraft maintenance schedules prescribed by aircraft manufacturers”. .
