As per The Technical Education Minister, Punjab, Mr. Charanjit singh Channi ,parents and the students are not aware regarding field of study suitable for their children after completion of matric and higher secondary studies.
The minister also informed that the Punjab Government would run self-employment training courses for Agriculture & Allied Services under skill development mission. He said that Punjab Skill Development mission would provide skill training to the farmers and others to bring in focus issues such as diversification, doubling the income of farmers, arrest of depleting water tables and distress in farmers.
Technical Education Minister said that the Punjab Agricultural University and the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University would run the skill development courses for Agriculture and Allied services.
He said that the Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in principle also gave approval to set up Indian Institute of Skills in the Punjab Skill University, which is to be set up at Sri Chamkaur Sahib
State Minister said that the Union ministry has also approved grant for the Skills Competition to be held in the state before the India Skills competition. After this, the world skills competition would be held at Kazan Russia in 2019.

“पिछले सत्र में सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश के बावजदू भी तीन तलाक, (Triple तलाक)संसद में हम पारित नहीं करवा पाए। मैं आशा करता हूं और मैं देश के सभी राजनीतिक दलों को विनम्र आग्रह करता हूं कि इस सत्र में, तीन तलाक महिलाओं के, विशेष करके मुस्लिम महिलाओं के हक की रक्षा करने वाले इस निर्णय को हम सब पारित करें और 2018 के नये वर्ष की एक उत्तम भेंट सौगात, हमारी मुस्लिम महिलाओं को हम दें।
बजट सत्र अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण होता है। पूरा विश्व जब भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था के प्रति बहुत ही आशावान है। भारत की राह, भारत की प्रगति पर विश्व की सभी क्रेडिट रेटिंग एजेंसीज हो, वर्ल्ड बैंक हो, आई एम एफ हो,बहुत ही सकारात्मक अपने ओपिनियन देती रही है। यह बजट देश की तेज की गति से आगे बढ़ रही अर्थव्यवस्था को एक नई ऊर्जा देने वाला, देश के सामान्य से सामान्य मानव की आशा-अपेक्षाओं को पूर्ण करने वाला बजट आएगा और बजट के बाद एक महीने भर भिन्न भिन्न कमेटियों में बजट की विषद चर्चा होती है। अनुभव यह है कि उन कमेटियों में दल से ऊपर देश होता है। सभी दल के लोग सत्तापक्ष के लोग भी कमियां उजागर करते हैं और विपक्ष के बंधू उसकी खूबियों को उजागर करते हैं। एक प्रकार को बहुत ही हेल्थी एनवायरनमेंट होता है,हेल्थी अट्मॉस्फेर होता है।
कल जब आल पार्टी मीटिंग हुई तो मैंने आग्रह किया है कि हम इस महीने की जो चर्चा सत्र रहता है,कमिटियों के अंदर उसका भरपूर उपयोग करे, और बजट का सर्वाधिक लाभ देश के सामान्य मानव तक कैसे पहुंचे?
दलित, पीडि़त, शोषित, वंचित को कैसे मिले?गांव गरीब को कैसे मिले?किसान मजदूर को कैसे मिले? इस पर हम व्यापक चिंतन करें, सकारात्मक सुझाव दें और रोडमैप बना करके हम आगे बढ़े।

Raksha Mantri Smt Nirmala Sitharaman gave away Republic Day Parade 2018 best contingent and tableau awards at makeshift Rashtriya Rangshala Camp, Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt today.
Among the Three Services, Punjab Regiment Contingent was awarded the best marching contingent. Indo-Tibetan Border Police was awarded the best marching contingent among the para-military and other auxiliary forces.
A total of 23 tableaux,
out of which 14 from States & Union Territories,
two from Ministry of External Affairs
depicting long socio-cultural, religious, educational & trade relations between India & ASEAN countries and the rest of the tableaux from other Ministries/Departments participated in this year’s Republic Day Parade.

दो जिलों का “गोवा” खुले में शौचमुक्त नहीं
[नईदिल्ली]गोवा पर्यटकों का स्वर्ग है इस पर भी दो जिलों का यह “छोटा सा राज्य ” खुले में शौचमुक्त नहीं|
गोवा को अक्सर विदेशियों की सबसे पसंदीदा जगहों में से एक के तौर पर पेश किया जाता है लेकिन तीन साल पहले शुरू किये गये सरकार के महत्वाकांक्षी स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के तहत इसके किसी जिले को खुले में शौच मुक्त (ओडीएफ) घोषित नहीं किया गया है।राज्य के सी एम् मनोहर पर्रिकर ने प्रधान मंत्री नेशनल रिलीफ फण्ड में कऱोड़ोंरु दान देकर दरियादिली दिखाई |इसके आलावा यहाँ फिल्म फेयर अवार्ड भी समारोह पूर्वक वितरित किये जाते है
इस सब के बावजूद बिहार एवं मणिपुर के साथ पश्चिम तटीय गोवा राज्य में एक भी ऐसा जिला नहीं है जिसे खुले में शौच मुक्त घोषित किया गया हो।
चौंकाने वाली बात यह है कि गोवा में सिर्फ दो जिले हैं जबकि बिहार में 38 एवं मणिपुर में नौ जिले हैं।
पेयजल एवं स्वच्छता मंत्रालय के सचिव परमेश्वरन अय्यर ने हाल में एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में कहा, ‘‘दुर्भाग्य से गोवा में एक भी जिला खुले में शौच मुक्त नहीं है। हमें यह जानने की आवश्यकता है कि राज्य को (इस संबंध में) क्या दिक्कतें आ रही हैं।’’
अधिकारियों का मानना है कि दुनिया के सबसे मशहूर पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक होने के कारण राज्य की इस चुनौती से निपटने की तत्काल आवश्यकता है।
प्रक्रिया में तेजी लाने और कारणों का पता लगाकर राज्य को जल्द से जल्द खुले में शौचमुक्त करने के लिये समाधान तलाशने के मकसद से अय्यर गोवा गये थे।
मंत्रालय में एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी के अनुसार ‘‘चूंकि राज्य में सिर्फ दो जिले हैं – उत्तर गोवा एवं दक्षिण गोवा। इसलिए इसे अब तक खुले में शौचमुक्त हो जाना चाहिए। यह बहुत छोटा राज्य है।’’
अधिकारियों का मानना है कि गोवा देश के सबसे छोटे राज्यों में से एक है। इसके पर्वतीय भू-भाग एवं निम्न जलस्तर के कारण यहां पानी की समुचित आपूर्ति करने में मुश्किल आती है। इसलिए अधिकतर ग्रामीण इलाकों में लोग मजबूरन खुले में शौच जाते हैं।
इसके अलावा गोवा में अधिकतर शहरी इलाकों विशेषकर जिन स्थानों पर निर्माण कार्य चल रहे हैं और प्रवासी मजदूरों एवं परिवारों के रहने के लिये बने बिना शौचालय की सुविधा वाले अनियंत्रित एवं अवैध परिसरों में ओडीएफ एक मुद्दा बन गया है।
गोवा, बिहार एवं मणिपुर के अलावा ओडिशा, जम्मू कश्मीर, उत्तर प्रदेश, पुडुचेरी भी ओडीएफ सूची में निचले स्थान पर हैं।
अरुणाचल प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़, गुजरात, केरल एवं चंडीगढ़ तथा दमन-दीव जैसे केंद्र प्रशासित राज्य ओडीएफ सूची में शीर्ष पर हैं और ये शत प्रतिशत कवरेज हासिल करने के करीब हैं

The Delhi government’s Public Works Department has directed field-inspection of all its flyovers
The department has asked its engineers that gaps on any flyover should be attended to immediately, to ensure safety of motorists.
Last month, a 10-feet-long and eight to 10 inches wide gap was detected between one of the five girders at Lajpat Nagar flyover, prompting the Delhi traffic police to advise two-wheelers to avoid the stretch till it was repaired.
The repair-work lasted for around a month.
Earlier this month, Akshardham flyover had developed a crack.

Goa is often projected as one of the most favoured destinations for foreign tourists, but none of its districts has been declared open defecation-free (ODF) under the government’s ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission launched over three years ago.

The western coastal state, along with Bihar and Manipur, does not have a single district which has been declared ODF
However, what is striking is that Goa has only two districts while there are 38 districts in Bihar and nine in Manipur.
As one of the most well-known tourist destinations in the world, there is an urgent need to meet the challenge in the state.
Parmeswaran Iyer, secretary in the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation said at a recently held press briefing.To accelerate the process, Iyer had rushed to Goa to find out the reasons and find a solution to make the state free of open defecation as soon as possible.
“Since the state has just two districts, north Goa and the south Goa, it should have been ODF by now. It is such a small state,”
Officials feel that though Goa is one of the smallest states in the country, the rocky terrain and low water levels make it difficult to have proper water supply. Hence in most rural areas, people are forced to defecate in the open.
According to them, ODF has also become an issue in most of the urbanised areas in Goa, especially at places with ongoing construction, due to uncontrolled and illegal leasing out of premises without toilet facilities to migrant labourers and families.
Official documents regarding Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) on Goa show that SBM coverage is close to 77.84 per cent in North Goa, where as in South Goa it is 73.81 per cent.
Official data shows that overall SBM coverage in the state was 60.59 per cent in 2014, when the mission was launched, the state increased its coverage to 76.22 per cent in 2015-16 fiscal.
But since then, the per cent of coverage has not increased in the state.
The report also shows that though 28,637 toilets were built 2014, with 15.62 per cent households having the facility, but no records of number of new toilets, or ODF panchayats and villages had been notified since then.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had recently told the Centre that by this year Goa will be declared open defecation-free.
As per Union Housing and Urban Affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri “I was told by the Goa CM that the state will be hundred per cent open defecation-free by October 2018. I have no doubt that the state will achieve this goal,” after chairing meetings to review various urban development initiatives in Goa last month.
Other than Goa, Bihar and Manipur, there are other states like Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Puducherry figure low in the ODF list.
Arunachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala and Union territories like Chandigarh and Daman and Diu top the list of ODF with close to 100 per cent coverage

Now, Justice Vikramajit Sen, a retired Supreme Court judge, has been appointed as the new sole arbitrator to adjudicate disputes that have arisen between Sandha. and Sabharwals.
The High Court said the new arbitrator shall conduct the first hearing within two weeks of receipt of the order and would endeavour to decide the matter within two months.
Sandha contended in his plea that the firm had defaulted in payment of the amount as per the MoU after which he initiated the arbitration proceedings.
According to his plea, the MoU was entered into after Sandha discovered financial irregularities being allegedly committed by Jeevesh Sabharwal.
Allegations of misconduct and collusion against an arbitrator — a retired judge — came to the fore before the Delhi High Court which set aside his interim award on a dispute between a real estate firm and its estranged NRI director.
Justice Navin Chawla also replaced the arbitrator, a retired judge of the Delhi High Court, with a judge who superannuated from the Supreme Court to decide the dispute involving Rs 37 crore between a real estate firm Concept Horizon Infra Pvt Ltd and NRI director Suninder Sandha.
The dispute between the two parties arose out of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), entered between Sandha and other directors Jeevesh Sabharwal and Naresh Sabharwal, according to which the realtor had to pay Rs 37 crore to the NRI on his exit from the company.
The first arbitrator was also appointed by the High Court but after the award was passed, allegations of misconduct and collusion allegedly surfaced against him.
Though, the allegations against the first arbitrator were withdrawn, Justice Chawla decided to set aside the award passed by him after both the parties consented to it.
