यह मुकदमा एक अलगाववादी कश्मीर-खालिस्तान गुट और दो अन्य व्यक्तियों द्वारा दर्ज कराया गया था।
याचिकाकर्ता, सुनवाई की दो तारीखों पर उपस्थित नहीं हो सके जिसके बाद मामला खारिज कर दिया गया।
टेक्सास के ह्यूस्टन में 19 सितंबर, 2019 को आयोजित हुए “हाउडी मोदी” कार्यक्रम के बाद मुकदमा दर्ज कराया गया था।
याचिका में भारत की संसद के उस निर्णय को चुनौती दी गई थी जिसके तहत जम्मू कश्मीर का विशेष राज्य का दर्जा समाप्त कर दिया गया था।
याचिकाकर्ताओं ने नरेंद्र मोदी, अमित शाह और लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल कंवल जीत सिंह ढिल्लों से मुआवजे के तौर पर दस करोड़ डॉलर की मांग की थी।
ढिल्लों, वर्तमान में ‘डिफेंस इंटेलिजेंस एजेंसी’ के महानिदेशक हैं और प्रमुख रक्षा अध्यक्ष (सीडीएस) के अधीन ‘इंटीग्रेटेड डिफेंस स्टाफ’ के उप प्रमुख हैं।
अमेरिका के दक्षिणी टेक्सास डिस्ट्रिक्ट की अदालत के न्यायाधीश फ्रांसेस एच स्टेसी ने छह अक्टूबर को दिए अपने आदेश में कहा था कि ‘कश्मीर खालिस्तान रेफरेंडम फ्रंट’ ने इस मामले को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए कुछ नहीं किया और सुनवाई के लिए दो बार तय की गई तारीख पर भी उपस्थित नहीं हुए।
‘कश्मीर खालिस्तान रेफरेंडम फ्रंट’ के अलावा अन्य दो याचिकाकर्ताओं की पहचान नहीं हो सकी है।

The lower house of Mexico’s congress has unanimously approved a law that would prohibit all forms of physical punishment of children by parents, caretakers, teachers or guardians.
Spanking is out, as is a long list of corporal punishments that speak to how deep-rooted the practice is in Mexico. Congress on Thursday said an estimated 63% of children between 1 and 14 had suffered physical punishment.
According to congress, shoving, pinching, biting, hair- or ear-pulling, or forcing minors into uncomfortable positions, will all be outlawed.

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to quash FIRs lodged in different states against TV news anchor Amish Devgan for his alleged defamatory remark against Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti during a show on June 15. The top court, however, said Devgan will get protection from any coercive action if he continues to cooperate with the probe.
A bench of justices AM Khanwilkar and Sanjiv Khanna also transferred all FIRs lodged in different states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana against Devgan to Ajmer in Rajasthan.
Earlier, the top court had granted protection to Devgan from any coercive action in connection with the FIRs.
After that, the apex court has been extending the protection from any coercive action to the journalist.

Maha Govt’s Nod is Sought to Reopen Historical Momuments
The places of religious worship in the state have been reopened earlier this week, but the historical monuments are still shut. As a result, those dependent on it for livelihood are facing problems.
Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has sought the Maharashtra government’s permission to reopen historical monuments including the world-famous Ajanta and Ellora caves, which remained shut since March due to the pandemic.
The association of tourist guides and several other stakeholders have earlier written to state government and the local authorities, demanding that the historical sites be reopened for people.

The Haryana government is mulling a law against “love jihad”, Home Minister Anil Vij said on Sunday, a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced his government will bring a legislation to deal with it.
“Haryana is contemplating a law against love jihad,” Vij said in a tweet in Hindi.
On Saturday, Adityanath had said his government would come out with a law to deal with “love jihad” and used the Hindu funeral chant ‘Ram Naam Satya Hai’ to threaten those who don’t respect their daughters and sisters.
Last week, a 21-year-old college student, Nikita, was shot dead in Haryana’s Ballabhgarh by a man. The victim’s family has alleged that the man was pressuring her to convert to Islam in order to marry him.
Some Hindu outfits have alleged that the woman’s murder is a case of “love jihad”.
The Haryana government has set up a three-member Special Investigation Team to probe the case.
The police have arrested two men — Tausif, the main accused, and Rehan
