Reminding Journalists ITU Says that journos have just three more weeks to submit their online application for media accreditation for the 19th ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, which will take place in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 20 October – 7 November 2014. Formal accreditation closes on 14 October 2014.
The ITU Plenipotentiary is the world’s largest meeting of international policy makers from the information and communication (ICT) sector. Known as PP-14, the conference is expected to attract around 3,000 participants, including Heads of State and around 130 VIPs from over 160 countries, including government ministers and CEOs.
It is held every four years to set the strategic direction of ITU and to develop policies and recommendations that address the evolving needs of the Union’s members.
Issues on the PP-14 agenda include digital inclusion and broadband rollout, broader international cooperation on ICT development, and new strategies to encourage membership and multi-stakeholder participation.
