Punjab Police neutralised notorious gangster Ankit Bhadu of Lawrence Bishnoi gang and arrested his 2 gang members Jarmanpreet Singh and Gurvinder Singh during an encounter in Zirakhpur town last night
Punjab’s Phagwara also witnessed violent clash between members of two communities, resulting in injuries to three youths
Those injured in the clash included two cousins belonging to one community and another youth belonging to other community
The mob allegedly damaged a jeep of Deputy Superintendent of Police Gurbaj Singh, a motorcycle and a bus,
The jeep was parked near the City police station on Phagwara-Banga road when the mob smashed its window panes and windshield

Unidentified car-borne persons today opened fire on police in Zirakpur,And Sped Away
Which prompted authorities to sound an alert to track down the vehicle.
However, no one was injured in the firing by the suspects believed to be four in number
The incident occurred near Gurdwara Nabha Sahib on Zirakpur-Patiala road in Punjab when the travellers in the car were asked by police to come out for verification.
Acting on a tip off, a PCR vehicle intercepted a white coloured Lancer car at around 12:15 pm as the police had prior information about movement of some suspicious persons in the city,
As per Zirakpur SHO Deep Inder Singh. the occupants were asked to come out of the car for questioning and search, but they opened fire. The police team also fired three shots in return, The vehicle then sped away from the scene.
An alert was sounded in Zirakpur and adjoining areas and police launched a manhunt to nab them but failed to trace them till the evening.
Police could not see the registration number of the vehicle as the number plate was covered with mud.
A case under various sections including section 307 of the IPC was lodged against unidentified persons,
