(Chd,Pb)Punjab Cong finalises new members of its executive body
The Punjab unit of the Congress has finalised the members of its new executive body which will now be sent to the party high command for approval, its state chief Sunil Jakhar said on Saturday.
Jakhar, along with AICC’s Punjab incharge Asha Kumari, also met Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to discuss the new structure of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC)
He said the approval of the high command is expected to come within the next 10 days.
Congress president Smt Sonia Gandhi had in January dissolved the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and all district committees in the state.
However, the state unit president remained unchanged.

It has also made it clear that consumption of chicken was completely safe and does not cause infection.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood on Friday sent 173 migrants in a chartered flight from Mumbai to Dehradun.
The Air Asia plane with 173 migrants arrived at the Jolly Grant Airport this evening
Buses of all 13 districts of Uttarakhand were parked outside the airport to take the migrants to their respective destinations.
It is for the second time in less than a month that Sood has sent migrants in a chartered flight from Mumbai to Dehradun.
Earlier this month, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat thanked him for the kind gesture and extended an invitation to him to visit the state when the COVID-19 crisis is over.

Ahead of the sixth International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged people to observe the day from the confines of their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Noting that this year’s theme is ‘Yoga at home’ and ‘Yoga with family’, he said due to the pandemic, it has to be observed indoors.
Though yoga day celebrations are an occasion of mass gatherings, due to extraordinary times, this year people should observe the day at their homes, he said in a video message.
Yoga Day is being observed on June 21.
He said the pandemic could have affected the mobility, but not enthusiasm

Cause of which ,as usual ,could not be ascertained. As per SDM Kharar Himanshu Jain a child named Adiya aged between 4-5 years sustained 100 percent burns and died. Besides, another woman also sustained injuries. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced Rs. 2 lakh as Ex Gratia for the family of the deceased
