बॉलीवुड अभिनेता अभय देओल के पिता और फिल्म उद्योग जगत के दिग्गज कलाकार धर्मेंद्र के छोटे भाई अजीत सिंह देओल का निधन हो गया।
पारिवारिक सूत्रों के अनुसार उन्होंने कल शाम करीब साढे छह बजे अंतिम सांस ली।अजीत सिंह काफी समय से बीमार थे।
अभिनेता-निर्देशक अजीत देओल कई पंजाबी फिल्मों का हिस्सा रहे हैं |उन्हें मुख्य रूप से
‘‘खोटे सिक्के’’ : 1974:,
‘‘मेहरबानी’’ :1982: और
‘‘बरसात’’ :1995:
जैसी हिंदी फिल्मों के लिए जाना जाता है।
धर्मेन्द्र द्वारा प्रोडूसेड बरसात का निर्देशन अजित सिंह ने किया था |मेहरबानी में धर्मेन्द्र ने अभिनय किया तो अजित सिंह ने प्रोडूसेड डायरेक्ट किया
उनका अंतिम संस्कार आज सुबह नौ बजे यहां उपनगर जुहू स्थित पवन हंस में किया गया।

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold valuing about Rs 88 lakh at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) .A man was intercepted by customs officials on Wednesday after his arrival from Dubai. Detailed examination of the baggage of the passenger resulted in recovery of gold strips coated with silver colour metal total weighing 1.02 kg, concealed in the transformer of a music system,
In another case, the customs official recovered foreign origin gold from a passenger who had arrived from Mumbai on Tuesday.
Detailed examination of the passenger in person resulted in recovery of foreign origin gold, weighing 2.5 kgs having market value of Rs 68.13 lakh concealed in inner pocket of his pant
In a related development, international airports across the country have been put on alert to check gold smuggling which might rise because of forthcoming festivals like Diwali and marriage season.
Gold sales usually go high at the time of Diwali, especially on ‘Dhanteras’ (that comes two days before Diwali is celebrated) as people consider buying the yellow metal as good omen on this day.
Incidentally cases of gold smuggling have shot up both in the country and in particular at the IGIA. During 2014-15, a total of 230 people were arrested by the customs in 388 cases of gold smuggling. About 596 kgs of gold worth Rs 155 crore was seized in these cases,
Whereas, in 2013-14, about 363 cases were registered in which 353 kgs gold worth Rs 92 crore was seized. A total of 123 people were arrested for smuggling, the sources said.
In April and August this year, the customs officials have arrested 100 people and registered 169 cases. As much as 293 kgs of gold valuing Rs 76 crore was seized in these cases,

3 Accused Of Rail Neer Sent to 14-days’ Judicial Custody
A Special CBI court today remanded to 14-day judicial custody the three accused arrested in connection with alleged corruption in supply of packaged drinking water in Rajdhani and other superfast trains.
Special CBI judge Vinod Kumar remanded two senior rail officers — Sandeep Silas and MS Chalia — and a businessman — Sharan Bihari Agrawal — to judicial custody after CBI submitted that they were not required for further custodial interrogation as of now.
The accused were produced before the court after completion of their five-day CBI custody.
The probe agency has said that Silas and Chalia conspired with Agrawal and instead of taking Rail Neer, they had allowed some private firms to supply water in the trains which resulted in a loss of Rs 6.25 crore to the exchequer.
It said that searches were conducted during the probe in which approximately Rs 28 crore cash was recovered out of which around Rs four lakh was counterfeit.
Silas, a 1984-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service(IRTS) officer, and Chalia of 1987 batch officer were taken into custody on Saturday night along with Agrawal, owner of R K Associates, in connection with the scam.
Besides them, the CBI has also registered case against seven private companies – RK Associates Pvt Ltd, Satyam Caterers Pvt Ltd, Ambuj Hotel and Real Estate, PK Associates Pvt Ltd, Sunsine Pvt Ltd, Brandavan Food Product and Food World – under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.

साहित्य अकादमी ने अपनी चुप्पी तोड़ते हुए साहित्यकारों की हत्या की निंदा की
साहित्य अकादेमी अध्यक्ष ने भारतीय संस्कृति के बहुलवाद को संरक्षित रखे जाने की वकालत भी की
साहित्य अकादेमी के अध्यक्ष विश्वनाथ प्रसाद तिवारी ने आज कहा कि देश में साहित्यकारों की सर्वोच्च संस्था कन्नड़ के लेखक एमएम कलबुर्गी की हत्या की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करती है और भारतीय संस्कृति के बहुलवाद को संरक्षित रखने की अपील करती है।
श्री तिवारी ने साहित्य अकादेमी के कार्यकारी मंडल की बैठक के बाद संवाददताओं से कहा, ‘‘संस्था अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता के अधिकार का पूरी दृढता के साथ समर्थन करती है और किसी भी लेखक के खिलाफ किसी भी तरह के अत्याचार की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करती है। हम भारतीय संस्कृति के बहुलवाद को संरक्षित रखने की अपील करते हैं, जो दुनिया के लिए अनुकरणीय है।’’ उन्होंने कहा कि अकादेमी मांग करती है कि केंद्र और सभी राज्य सरकारें समाज और समुदाय के बीच शांतिपूर्ण सह अस्तित्व बनाये रखें। संस्था सभी समुदायों से भी विनम्र अनुरोध करती है कि जाति, धर्म, क्षेत्र और विचारधारा आधारित मतभेदों को अलग रखकर एकता और समरसता को बरकरार रखें। उन्होंने अकादेमी के 61 सालों के इतिहास का हवाला देते हुए कहा कि यह एक स्वायत्त संस्था है, जो लेखकों द्वारा संचालित होती है। पुरस्कारों सहित सभी फैसले लेखकों द्वारा ही लिए जाते हैं। अकादेमी पुरस्कार लौटाने वाले या संस्था से अपने को अलग करने वाले लेखकों से अकादेमी का अनुरोध है कि वे अपने फैसले पर पुनर्विचार करें।
यहां आज संपन्न हुई कार्यकारी मंडल की बैठक में सभी भारतीय भाषाओं के 24 में से 20 सदस्यों ने भाग लिया।

In an unprecedented development, the Panj Pyaras of the Akal Takht today asked the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to remove the Jathedars of five Takhts , alleging that they had “created furore and restlessness in the community”.However, all the five Jathedars who were asked to appear at Akal today didn’t turn up on the call of Panj Piyaras today.
Satnam Singh, a Panj Pyara, told Media
“We have asked the SGPC to terminate the services of the five Jathedars, including Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh, immediately as the Sikh community has no faith in them due to their recent anti-Panthic acts that created furore and restlessness in the community,”
When asked that the SGPC, the apex religious body of the Sikhs, had already suspended the Panj Pyaras , he said, “The SGPC has suspended their employees and we are here in the capacity of Panj Pyaras, who always remain independent to take any decision in the larger interest of the Sikh community.”
On Wednesday, the Panj Pyaras had summoned the Jathedars of five Takhts to explain the pardon given to Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahi. This had invited their suspension by the SGPC.
The Panj Pyaras said the Jathedars didn’t turn up today in the Golden Temple complex, prompting them to demand their resignation.

BSP supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today accused the Khattar Led BJP government in Haryana of being “insensitive” towards Dalits and termed as shameful the killing of two children who were burnt alive three days ago.
She said at a press conference “It clearly indicates that BJP is not at all concerned or sensitive towards Dalits,”
Describing the killing of two Dalit children in Faridabad in Haryana as “shameful”, Mayawati said, “It shows insensitivity of the Haryana government.”
She said the incident is more shocking because it happened despite the police deployment in the area.
Targeting the prevalence of feudalism in the area, she said, “Feudal lords of the area wanted dalits to live like slaves but they refused and fought back. They had to leave the village after that.”
However, after the change of the government in Haryana, the BJP government took them back in the village and the police was deployed there, she said, adding even though the police was present, they were killed.
Taking on BJP, she said when similar incidents happened during the Congress government then BJP was promising to protect Dalits to come to power.
She said atrocities on Dalits are happening everywhere, including in Uttar Pradesh and the government is protecting those who are committing crime against Dalits

.The latest research report of leading brokerage firm Emkay Global has said that half of the private equity/venture capital funds in 2014 went into companies like Flipkart, Snapdeal and funds of Kotak, Shriram Capital, Sutherland Global Services etc and not into the manufacturing sector. Shri Modi’s foreign visits have not produced much, so far.
2014-15 was not the year with the highest FDI inflows.
India had received total investments of Rs 46,556 crore in 2011-12 while the inflows in 2014-15 were Rs 44,291 crore. In Dollar terms, India has got more than 31 billion Dollars as FDI inflow in 2011-12 and 2007-08.
