[New Delhi] Kamal Chowdhery[IDAS] Is Selected For Post of Managing Director Of NCCF
Kamal Chowdhery, IDAS (1991) is Selected to the post of Managing Director (JS level), National Co-operative Consumer’s Federation of India Limited (NCCF) under the Department of Consumer Affairs for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier .
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved the following:
(i)Sh. Anil Kumar Agarwal, IAS (WB:1981), Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) vice Dr. Shyam S.Agarwal, IAS (RJ:1980) who is holding additional charge of the post.
(ii)Shri Parameswaran Iyar, IAS (Voluntary Retired (UP:1981) as Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation on contract basis for a period two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
(iii)Dr.Anand Kumar, IPS(MP:81) as Special Director in Intelligence Bureau.
(iv)Shri A.K.Poddar, IPoS(1987),Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in CONCOR New Delhi under the Ministry of Railways for a period of two years beyond 23.05.2016 i.e. upto 23.05.2018 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Activists of a little known Hindu outfit today held a demonstration outside a multiplex screening adult comedy film “Mastizaade”.
The protest, however, was called off after authorities volunteered to delete the scenes that were deemed “objectionable”
The protesters were stopped by the security personnel of the commercial establishment.
Police claimed that they averted a clash between the protesters and the private security.
The protesters were demanding removal of certain scenes from the movie,
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Narinder Bhargava said the protesters left the premises after the cinema management assured the scenes they had objected to will be deleted.
No case has been registered by the police in this connection.

Furious over being subjected to repeated security checks, a Jet Airways passenger created a bomb scare at the IGI airport forcing security agencies to book Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on another flight to Chennai.
Jet Airways flight 9W-821 to Chennai, scheduled to take off at 6.45 am from the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday, was grounded after a passenger allegedly claimed he was carrying a “bomb” and will “blow up” the aircraft, sources in the CISF said today.
The businessman, who had been subjected twice to security checks, got exasperated when asked to open his bag for the third time.
This Irritated passenger, who is into business and was travelling with a Chinese exporter, was carrying with him some metallic item and had undergone two security checks. When he was asked to open the baggage again, he got irritated and told the CISF personnel that he was carrying a bomb and will blow up the aircraft,
The personnel of Special Protection Group (SPG),overheard the conversation. The airline staff and SPG then informed the control room about it.
Not taking the threat lightly, a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was formed to assess the threat perception.
All the passengers, cargo and baggage were deplaned and a thorough search was carried out,
The claim later turned out to be a hoax.
Priyanka was, meanwhile, booked on another flight, which departed for Chennai at 7.35 am.
At around 7.25 am, the threat was declared as “non-specific”,
“The passenger was taken to police station for intense questioning by the city police and other security agencies. He was let off in evening after the authorities became sure he posed no threat,” sources said.

High Court today Directed DDA To Remove rubble immediately from its land
Delhi High Court today directed DDA to ensure “immediate removal” of construction material dumped on the authority’s vacant lands in Dwarka, saying this was a major cause of air pollution in the national capital.
A bench of justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva also directed Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to ensure that people do not dump rubble or ‘malba’ on its lands at night and suggested putting in place guards or CCTV cameras to curb such practice and identify the guilty.
The court also noted that there was some improvement in the work done by South Delhi municipal corporation (SDMC) to keep the surroundings of ‘dhalaos’ (garbage dumps) clean as well as in clearing of rubbish, but said the steps taken were not “fully satisfactory”.
SDMC assured the court that it would work harder to ensure cleanliness in Dwarka sub-city and that disciplinary action would be taken against non performers.
The court also suggested to SDMC to clean the dhalaos thrice a day if they were only doing it twice a day, to which the corporation said it lacks the manpower to do so, especially now when most of its workers were on strike.
The bench, thereafter, listed the matter for further hearing on February 24.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by law students Ebbani Aggarwal and Gaurav, both Dwarka residents, on the issue of lack of cleanliness in the sub-city.
During the brief hearing, DDA told the court that the construction material was being dumped unauthorisedly and surreptitiously by local residents at night. It said it was removing the rubble as and when it came across such dumping.
SDMC said it had detected construction material at 33 DDA sites in Dwarka and informed the DDA’s chief engineer.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने जाखड़ के निधन पर शोक व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि वह एक लोकप्रिय नेता थे |उन्होंने संसदीय लोकतंत्र को समृद्ध बनाया।
उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, ‘‘ बलराम जाखड़ जी एक लोकप्रिय नेता थे जिन्होंने अपनी लंबी राजनीतिक यात्रा में हमारे संसदीय लोकतंत्र को समृद्ध बनाया। मैं उनके निधन से दु:खी हूं। ईश्वर उनकी आत्मा को शांति प्रदान करे।’’
जाखड़ 1980 से 1989 तक लोकसभा के अध्यक्ष रहे।
इस दौरान उन्होंने संसद संग्रहालय की स्थापना में योगदान दिया।
उन्होंने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री नरसिंहा राव की कैबिनेट में कृषि मंत्री के तौर पर भी अपनी सेवाएं दीं।
जाखड़ 30 जून 2004 से 30 मई 2009 तक मध्य प्रदेश से राज्यपाल रहे।

In a security lapse, a woman today breached the security ring deployed near South Block for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy and threw a flower pot on the road which was to be taken by him shortly afterwards.
The woman appeared at the spot when police officials had already taken their position for the convoy and entered into an altercation with some police personnel,
She tried to break open a barricade and when the police stopped her, she picked up a flower pot and threw it on the road, seconds before the convoy arrived,
The woman was whisked away from the spot immediately and she was later detained at the Parliament Street police station,

However, the doctors advised Badal to refrain from vigorous travelling and exposure to intense cold.
The doctors have also advised him to take rest and maintain restriction over the entry of visitors calling on him to inquire about his well being as a precautionary measure.

दिल्ली पोलिस ने छात्राओं की पिटाई के मामले में अपनी स्थिति स्पष्ट करते हुए कहा के प्रदर्शनकारियों ने पोलिस को उकसाया होगा|
छात्रों और छात्राओं की बेरहमी से पिटाई करने वाला वीडियो वायरल होने के बाद भड़के आक्रोश के बीच दिल्ली के पुलिस आयुक्त बी एस बस्सी आज अपने लोगों का उस वक्त बचाव करते हुए नजर आए जब उन्होंने सुझाया कि प्रदर्शनकारियों ने पुलिसकर्मियों को उकसाया होगा।
बस्सी ने ट्विटर पर कहा, ‘‘प्रदर्शन का अधिकार जस्टिस ओलिवर वेंडे होम्स जूनियर के इस कथन के साथ सह-अस्तित्व में होता है कि- आपका अधिकार तब तक है जब तक दूसरे को नुकसान नहीं पहुंचे।’’ पुलिस आयुक्त ने अमेरिकी न्यायविद के इस कथन को उद्धृत किया हालांकि इस कथन के मूल को लेकर विवाद है।
दिल्ली पुलिस को आरएसएस और भाजपा की ‘निजी सेना’ करार देने वाले मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के ट्वीट का हवाला देते हुए बस्सी ने कहा कि जब वह मिलेंगे तो मुख्यमंत्री की ‘गलतफहमी’ दूर करने की कोशिश करेंगे।
बस्सी ने एक और ट्वीट में कहा, ‘‘दिल्ली पुलिस ने 2015 में 11,156 छोट-बड़े कार्यक्रमों में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था संभाली, अधिकांश शांतिपूर्ण रहे। जब कभी मैं मुख्यमंत्री से मिलूंगा तो मैं उनकी गहतफहमी दूर करने की कोशिश करूंगा। दिल्ली पुलिस अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता और शांतिपूर्ण सभा की रक्षा करने को बाध्य है। प्रदर्शन करने की अनुमति जंतर-मंतर तक सीमित है । इसका ध्यान रखते हुए दिल्ली पुलिस और लोकतंत्र की मदद करिए।’’ दलित छात्र रोहित वेमुला की खुदकुशी के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन कर रहे छात्रों की दिल्ली पुलिस द्वारा बेरहमी से पिटाई का वीडियो सामने आने के बाद कल बस्सी ने इस मामले की जांच का आदेश दिया था
