A sessions court today reserved its decision on Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s bail plea till tomorrow
The actor, who was yesterday convicted by the trial court and sentenced to five years in prison in a 1998 blackbuck poaching case, would now be spending another night in Jodhpur Central Jail.
The district and sessions court here heard arguments on the suspension of sentence and bail application before deferring the matter till tomorrow.
In his arguments, defence counsel Mahesh Bora said there were various loopholes in the investigation. He argued that no investigation in any of the cases of poaching proved that Salman used firearms.
Bora said.”We have argued that the eyewitness in the case was not reliable,”
The magistrate Ravindra Kumar Joshi also sought the record of the case from the lower court.
The actor is alleged to have shot and killed blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the night of October 1, 1998 during the shooting of the film “Hum Saath Saath Hain”.
While convicting Salman, the trial court acquitted his Bollywood colleagues Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre and a local, Dushyant Singh, giving them the “benefit of doubt” for the incident in October 1998

Pathankot came under the civil aviation network today with Alliance Air operating its first flight from Delhi under the Centre’s regional connectivity scheme.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, accompanied by Punjab Congress president and Gurdaspur MP Sunil Jakhar, was at the airport to welcome the passengers on board the first flight that arrived at the airport from Delhi this afternoon.
The chief minister said that it was a red-letter day for the region, which had now got air connectivity with the rest of country. It is expected to give a boost to the region’s connectivity and tourism potential.
Being at the tri-junction of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, Pathankot would also get a huge boost to its tremendous tourism potential as a result of the launch of the flight, which would operate on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays every week,
The chief minister said the government’s plans to develop an international-standard tourist destination at Pathankot-Dalhousie Road near Ranjit Sagar Lake would also give a huge fillip to the region’s tourism industry, as it was expected to draw more than 50,000 tourists annually.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion were Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla.

[नई दिल्ली]राष्ट्रपति ने राष्ट्रहित में महिलाओं को श्रम बल का अधिक से अधिक हिस्सा बनाने पर जोर दिया
राष्ट्रपति श्री रामनाथ कोविन्द ने नई दिल्ली में फिक्की महिला संगठन के 34वें वार्षिक सत्र को संबोधित कर रहे थे
इस अवसर पर राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि हमारे देश का आधा हिस्सा महिलाएं हैं। महिलाएं कार्यस्थल और घर पर विविध तरीकों से काम करके हमारी अर्थव्यवस्था में योगदान देती हैं। लेकिन जब यह बात व्यवसाय और वाणिज्य पर आती है तो यह खेदजनक है कि महिलाओं को उनका बकाया नहीं दिया जाता। हमें ऐसी स्थितियां बनाने की जरूरत है जहां हमारी अधिक से अधिक बेटियों और बहनों की गिनती श्रम बल में हो। हमें घर पर, समाज में और कार्यस्थल पर उनके लिए उपयुक्त, उत्साहवर्धक और सुरक्षित स्थितियां सुनिश्चित करनी होंगी, ताकि कामकाजी महिलाओं का प्रतिशत बढ़ सके।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि यदि अधिक महिलाएं श्रम बल का हिस्सा बनेंगी तो घरेलू आमदनी और हमारी विकास दर दोनों में तेजी आएगी। हम अधिक समृद्ध राष्ट्र बनेंगे। हमारे समाज में और अधिक समानता आएगी।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि आवश्यकता इस बात की है कि समाज के निचले तबके की हमारी बहनों और बेटियों को भी उद्यमिता से अवगत कराया जाए और स्टार्ट-अप से जोड़ा जाए। सरकार की यहां भूमिका है लेकिन साथ ही नागरिक समाज और व्यवसाय-और फिक्की महिला जैसे संगठनों की भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि सरकार ने सामान्य नागरिकों खासतौर से महिलाओं के बीच उद्यम की संस्कृत को बढ़ावा देने के लिए निर्णायक कदम उठाया है। महिलाओं, अनुसूचित जाति और अनुसूचित जनजातियों के बीच उद्यमिता को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए अप्रैल 2016 में स्टैंड अप इंडिया पहल की शुरूआत की गई।
करीब 45 हजार ऋण मुख्यतः वास्तविक स्वामियों के बीच वितरित किए गए।
करीब 39 हजार ऋण महिलाओं को दिए गए।
मुद्रा योजना के अंतर्गत पिछले तीन वित्तीय वर्षों में करीब 117 मिलियन ऋणों को मंजूरी दी गई है।
इनमें से 88 मिलियन ऋण महिला उद्यमियों को दिए गए और उन्हें इस बात की खुशी है कि दिसंबर, 2017 में मुद्रा योजना में एनपीए की संख्या मंजूर किए गए ऋणों का 8 प्रतिशत से भी कम थी ।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि विशुद्ध व्यवसाय विफल हो सकता है, लेकिन जब जानबूझकर और आपराधिक तरीके से बैंक ऋण का भुगतान नहीं किया जाता तो हमारे भारतीयों के परिवारों को उसका खामियाजा भुगतना पड़ता है। निर्दोष नागरिक परेशानी में पड़ जाते हैं और अंततः ईमानदार करदाता को इसका बोझ उठाना पड़ता है। यह सराहनीय है कि हमारे देश के निचले स्तर पर- छोटे गांवों और परम्परागत रूप से शोषितों और वंचित समुदायों में मुद्रा उद्यमियों ने अपने ऋणों का भुगतान किया है।
राष्ट्रपति ने फिक्की महिला संगठन के सदस्यों से आग्रह किया कि वह देखें की किस प्रकार इन व्यवसायों को बड़े पैमाने पर महिलाओं द्वारा चलाया जा सकता है। वे किस प्रकार- विक्रेता, सहायक, आपूर्तिकर्ता, वितरक अथवा किसी अन्य रूप में इन स्टार्ट अप का हिस्सा बन सकती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारे कॉरपोरेट क्षेत्र को महिलाओं के अनुकूल और लिंग संवेदनशील आपूर्ति श्रृंखला तैयार करने की दिशा में कदम उठाने चाहिए ताकि हमारी अर्थव्यवस्था में महिलाओं को सिर्फ शामिल करने के बजाय उन्हें अधिकार सम्पन्न बनाया जा सकें।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि यह भारत के लिए विशाल अवसरों का क्षण है। यदि हमारे संस्थान और हमारा समाज कानून के अनुसार और न्याय की भावना के प्रति सच्चा हो। हम प्रत्येक भारतीय महिला की उसकी सामर्थ्य पहचाने में मदद कर सकते हैं। हम एक विकसित भारत का निर्माण कर सकते हैं। इस पर असहमति हो सकती है लेकिन अन्य व्यक्तियों की प्रतिष्ठा का सम्मान होना चाहिए। प्रतिष्ठा और शिष्टता; आदेश और कानून का शासन; निष्पक्षता और न्याय; उद्यमिता और आकांक्षा- हमें इन सभी को हासिल करना होगा। हम सोच-विचार करके किसी एक को चुन नहीं सकते।
राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि यहां हमसे से प्रत्येक की भूमिका है। फिक्की महिला संगठन का प्रत्येक सदस्य एक व्यक्ति है। यह संगठन एक संस्थान के रूप में भारतीय व्यवसाय और भारतीय समाज में बड़ा बदलाव ला सकता है।

तम्बाकू सेवन को हतोत्साहित करने के लिए उत्पाद पैकेटों पर नई चेतावनी
विशिष्ट स्वास्थ्य चेतावनी के नए नियमों की प्रमुख विशेषता है – तंबाकू सेवन की आदत त्यागने के लिए एक फोन नम्बर (‘आज ही त्यागें, फोन करें 1800-11-2356 ’) का उल्लेख यह फोन नम्बर तंबाकू सेवन करने वालों में जागरूकता बढ़ाएगा और सलाह सेवाओं तक उनकी पहुंच बनाएगा। इससे तंबाकू का त्याग करने वालों की संख्या में वृद्धि होने की संभावना है। नई विशिष्ट स्वास्थ्य चेतावनी दोनों ही प्रकार के तंबाकू उत्पादों – धुआंयुक्त और धुआंरहित – पर लागू होगी।
तंबाकू सेवन की आदत छोड़ने के लिए टोल फ्री नम्बर (1800-11-2356) तंबाकू त्याग करने की सलाह देगा तथा तरीके बताएगा। वैश्विक व्यस्क तंबाकू सर्वेक्षण (जीएटीएस-2, 2016-17) के अनुसार 15 वर्ष तथा इससे अधिक उम्र के तंबाकू सेवन करने वाले लोगों में 61.9 प्रतिशत सिगरेट पीने वाले, 53.8 प्रतिशत बीड़ी पीने वाले तथा 46.2 प्रतिशत धुआंरहित तंबाकू का सेवन करने वाले ऐसे लोग हैं, जिन्होंने पैकेटों पर स्वास्थ्य चेतावनी को देख कर तंबाकू सेवन का त्याग करने के बारे में सोचा है।

इस संदर्भ में यह प्रश्न या संदेह उठना स्वाभाविक है के सलमान खान को सेलेब्रेटी होने के कारण पांच साल की कैद या फिर पीएम से नजदीकी के कारन केवल उन्हें ही सजा भुगतनी होगी| २० साल पहले काला हिरण [ब्लैक बक]शिकार मामले में छह आरोपियों में से केवल एक सलमान को ही सजा सुनाई गई है जबकि सैफ अली खान, सोनाली बेन्द्रे, तब्बू और नीलम को बरी कर दिया गया है स्थानीय अदालत ने बॉलीवुड खान सलमान खान को दो काले हिरणों की हत्या के मामले में आज पांच साल कारावास की सजा सुनाई जबकि अन्य आरोपी कलाकारों सैफ अली खान, सोनाली बेन्द्रे, तब्बू और नीलम को बरी कर दिया।
अभियोजन पक्ष के वकील महिपाल बिश्नोई ने संवाददाताओं को बताया कि सलमान खान को जोधपुर केन्द्रीय कारागार भेजने की तैयारी की जा रही है।
उन्होंनेबताया किअदालत ने सलमान को पांच साल कारावास और10,000 रुपये जुर्माने की सजा सुनायी है। उन्होंने कहा किअन्य सिने कलाकारों के साथ ही एक अन्य आरोपी स्थानीय निवासी दुश्यंत सिंह को भी अदालत ने बरी कर दिया है।
अदालत ने सलमान खान को अक्तबूर, 1998 में‘ हम साथ साथ हैं’ फिल्म की शूटिंग के दौरान कांकाणी गांव में काले हिरणों का शिकार करने का दोषी पाया।
सलमान खान को अदालत ने वन्यजीव( संरक्षण) कानून के प्रावधान9/51 के तहत दोषी करार दिया । इस कानून के तहत दोषी को अधिकतम छह साल कैद की सजा हो सकती है।
गौरतलब है कि मुख्य न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट देव कुमार खत्री ने1998 में हुई इस घटना के संबंध में28 मार्च को मुकदमे की सुनवाई पूरीकी थी।
सलमान पर आरोप था कि उन्होंने जोधपुर के निकट कांकाणी गांव के भागोडा की ढाणी में दो काले हिरणों का शिकार किया था। यह घटना‘ हम साथ साथ है’’ फिल्म की शूटिंग के दौरान अक्तूबर, 1998 की है।
काली शर्ट पहने सलमान आज सुबह अपने अंगरक्षक के साथ अदालत पहुंचे।
फैसला सुनाये जाने के वक्त अन्य आरोपी सिने कलाकार भी अदालत कक्ष में मौजूद थे।

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkiah Naidu today corrected the House records to state that a Bill to amend the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, that was taken up yesterday, has not been passed by the Lok Sabha yet.
This happened after Sukhendu Shekhar Roy (TMC) raised the issue through a point of order, saying Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman P J Kurien should recall his statement of yesterday that the Bill he has allowed the minister to move has been passed by the Lok Sabha and transmitted to this House.
Roy said the Bill was brought to the Rajya Sabha on August 19, 2013 and was referred to a parliamentary standing committee for scrutiny.
The panel submitted its report a year later but the legislation was referred to a Select Committee of Rajya Sabha, which submitted its report on August 11, 2016, he said, adding the government brought the Bill to the House on April 4, 2018.
The bill was not passed by Lok Sabha.
Roy said the order passed by the Chair yesterday was under wrong premise and he should recall it.

withdrew their nomination this paving way for the unopposed election of Dr Tejinder to the Central Council.
Dr Tejinder is an eminent Homeopath and is also the Chairman of the Punjab Homeopathic Council.
