In many parts of the state, the curfew was relaxed from 6 am to 9 am for buying milk, vegetables and fruits and then from 8 am to 11 am for purchasing groceries and medicines
Though milk was delivered at people’s doorstep in most parts of the state, they were allowed to visit neighbourhood shops for buying vegetables and other items of daily needs
On Tuesday, the state government had announced that Deputy Commissioners will ensure door-to-door delivery of essential commodities such as groceries, milk, fruits and vegetables through pre-identified hawkers or distributors, wherever possible.
However, people at many places complained of being forced to pay more for buying vegetables and fruits, as per reports. While newspapers at several places were not delivered on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, police had registered 232 FIRs and arrested 111 people for the curfew violation.
Punjab had imposed a state-wide curfew on Monday as a measure to check the spread of the deadly infection. It has reported 29 coronavirus cases so far.

(New Delhi) Export of Anti-Malarial Drug Hydroxycloroquine BANNED
Indian government on Wednesday banned export of anti-malarial drug hydroxycloroquine, with immediate effect to ensure sufficient availability of the medicine in the domestic market.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director General Balram Bhargava had on Monday recommended the use of hydroxychloroquine for treating healthcare workers handling suspected or confirmed coronavirus cases and also the asymptomatic household contacts of the lab-confirmed cases.
The treatment protocol recommended by the ICMR-constituted National Task Force for COVID-19 has been approved by the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) for restricted use in emergency situations.
In a notification issued on Wednesday, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), an arm of the commerce ministry which deals with export and import-related matters, said, ” government will allow export of the medicine on humanitarian grounds on case-to-case basis on the Ministry of External Affairs’ recommendation.”
According to some reports, demand for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, a related compound, have jumped after US President Donald Trump said that these salts were effective in treating COVID-19. People are panic buying this medicine.

गृह मंत्री अनिल देशमुख और मुंबई पुलिस आयुक्त परमबीर सिंह के अनुसार पुलिस को मास्क की कालाबाजारी की जानकारी मिली थी। अपराध शाखा की बांद्रा इकाई के अधिकारियों ने सोमवार को सहर इलाके में खरीदार बनकर कम से कम 25 लाख एन-95 मास्क ले जा रहे तीन ट्रकों को रोका। पुलिस ने इस संबंध में तीन गोदामों में भी छापेमारी की।
इस मामले में चार आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर उनके खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है।

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati resigned late Monday night, hours after senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan took oath as chief minister of the state.
In his resignation letter submitted to Deputy Speaker Hina Kavre, Prajapati said he is resigning as speaker of the state Assembly on moral grounds.
Prajapati, the Congress MLA from Gotegaon, was elected as speaker amid protests by the BJP in January last year after Kamal Nath became chief minister of the state.
Kamal Nath resigned as chief minister last week after his government lost majority following the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs.
Chouhan, 61, was back as Madhya Pradesh chief minister on Monday night for a record fourth term.
The legislator from Budhni took oath of office at a simple function in Raj Bhawan, where he was sworn-in by Governor Lalji Tandon at 9 pm.

Abdullah, who turned 50 on March 10, had spent 232 days in custody since the government announced abrogation of the special status of the erstwhile state on August 5 last year.
The National Conference leader was initially detained under preventive custody and later slapped with the PSA on February 5.
