मुम्बई में असाम दंगों के विरोध में भड़की हिंसा को काबू पा लिया गया है|दक्षिण मुंबई के आजाद मैदान में हजारों लोग जुटे थे। वे असम और म्‍यांमार में हुई हिंसा का विरोध कर रहे थे। लेकिन उनमें से कुछ लोग अचानक हिंसक हो गए। उन्‍होंने मीडिया और पुलिस की गाडि़यों में आग लगा दी दिल्‍ली में जहां योग गुरु बाबा रामदेव के नेतृत्‍व में रामलीला मैदान में लोग शांतिपूर्वक विरोध कर रहे थे, वहीं मुंबई में सरकार विरोधी भीड़ हिंसक हो गई। बाबा ने मुम्बईकर से शान्ति और सयम की अपील की है|
गृह मंत्रालय ने भी अतिरिक्त सुरक्षा बलों की आवश्यकता के विषय में पूछा है|
दक्षिण मुंबई के आजाद मैदान में करीब 50000 लोग जुटे थे। वे असम और म्‍यांमार में हुई हिंसा का विरोध कर रहे थे। लेकिन उनमें से कुछ लोग अचानक हिंसक हो गए। उन्‍होंने मीडिया और पुलिस की गाडि़यों में आग लगा दी।भीड़ ने मैदान से बाहर निकलकर पहले रास्ता रोकने की कोशिश की और उसके बाद कई गाड़ियों को आग लगा दी। भीड़ को तितर-बितर करने के लिए पुलिस ने आंसू गैस के गोले छोड़े और लाठीचार्ज किया। मुंबई पुलिस के साथ-साथ केंद्रीय बलों के जवानों को भी बुलाया गया। पुलिस ने हालात काबू में करने के लिए फायरिंग भी की। फिलहाल स्थिति को पूरी तरह नियंत्रण में कर लिया गया है।
भीड़ ने न्‍यूज चैनलों के दो ओवी वैन जला दिए। तीन फोटो जर्नालिस्ट गंभीर रूप से घायल हुए हैं। कुछ रिपोर्टर भी घायल हैं। फिलहाल मुंबई के आजाद मैदान के आसपास के इलाकों में हालात तनावपू्र्ण बने हुए हैं।टी वी चेनलों पर लगातार शान्ति बनाए रखने की अपील की जा रही है \
मुंबई पुलिस कमिश्‍नर देवेंद्र भाटी ने इसमें कुछ शरारती तत्वोंका हाथ बताते हुए मीडिया के माध्यम से लोगों से शांति बनाए रखने की अपील की है
