चीन के साथ हुए युद्ध में मिली Ist पराजय के पचासवें साल में सेना प्रमुख जनरल बिक्रम सिंह ने बुधवार को कहा कि चीन के साथ 1962 में हुआ युद्ध दोहराया नहीं जा सकता। उन्होंने राष्ट्र को आश्वस्त किया कि कोई भी दुश्मन सैनिक कभी भी भारतीय धरती पर कदम नहीं रख सकता। मीडिया के साथ बातचीत में जनरल बिक्रम सिंह ने कहा कि भारत के पास अपनी सीमा पर किसी भी तरह की गड़बड़ी से निपटने की पर्याप्त सैन्य योजना है। यह पूछे जाने पर कि क्या 1962 का युद्ध दोहराया जा सकता है तो इसपर सेना प्रमुख ने जोर देते हुए कहा नहीं होगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि मैं देश को भरोसा दिलाना चाहता हूं कि 1962 दोहराया नहीं जाएगा।जनरल सिंह ने कहा कि सेना प्रमुख के नाते देश की क्षेत्रीय अखंडता की सुरक्षा करना उनकी जिम्मेदारी है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसलिए मैं भरोसा दे रहा हूं। हम किसी भी शत्रु को अपनी अपनी सीमा में प्रवेश करने नहीं देंगें| चीन और पाकिस्तानीसीमा पर जारी चीन की गतिविधिओं से उसकी नियत पर अक्सर सवाल उठते रहे हैं और चीन के रक्षा मंत्री द्वारा शहीद स्मारक पर श्रधान्जली नहीं देने से चीन की नियत पर सवाल उठने शुरू हो गए हैं|
