महात्मा मोहन दास करम चंद गाँधी के आदर्शों की धज्जियां तो आज कल उडाई ही जा रही थी कि अब गांधी को राष्ट्रपिता मानने से ही इंकार किया जा रहा है| संभवत यह देश का बाजारी करण+ व्यापारी करण +विदेशी करण करने के लिए है| संविधान में आये दिन संशोधन करके महात्मा मोहन दास करम चंद गांधी के नाम को राजनीतिक रूप से भुनाने में माहिर सरकारें महात्मा के आदर्शों की धज्जियां भी लगातार उडाती आ रही है |कुटीर उद्योग+स्वदेशी+ स्वाव्लम्भी जैसे गांधियन मार्गों को त्याग कर अब विदेशी विदेशी की रट लगी है|अब नौबत यहाँ तक पहुँच गई है कि मौजूदा मरकजी सरकार महात्मा को दी गई राष्ट्रपिता की उपाधि भी छीन लेना चाहती है| गृह मंत्रालय ने आरटीआई में पूछे एक सवाल के जवाब में बताया है कि सरकार महात्मा गांधी को ‘राष्ट्रपिता’ की उपाधि नहीं दे सकती क्योंकि संविधान एजुकेशनल और मिलिट्री टाइटल के अलावा कोई और उपाधि देने की इजाजत नहीं देता। यह सवाल लखनऊ की 11वीं की एक स्टूडेंट ऐश्वर्या पाराशर ने पूछा था। इसके अलावा सरकार संविधान में संशोशन को तैयार नहीं दिखती|
ऐश्वर्या ने कई आरटीआई दाखिल कर गांधी को राष्ट्रपिता कहे जाने की वजह भी जाननी चाही थी जब उसे बताया गया कि गांधीजी को ऐसी कोई उपाधि नहीं दी गई है, तो उसने राष्ट्रपति और प्रधानमंत्री को पत्र लिखकर महात्मा गांधी को राष्ट्रपिता घोषित करने के लिए अधिसूचना जारी करने की रिक्वेस्ट की थी।
ऐश्वर्या की अर्जी इस निर्देश के साथ गृह मंत्रालय को भेजी गई थी कि उनकी रिक्वेस्ट पर क्या कार्रवाई की गई, इसका खुलासा किया जाए मंत्रालय ने स्पष्टीकरण दिया कि संविधान की धारा 8(1) एजुकेशनल और मिलिट्री टाइटल के अलावा कोई और उपाधि देने की इजाजत सरकार को नहीं देती। महात्मा गांधी को सरकार की तरफ से राष्ट्रपिता की उपाधि नहीं दी जा सकती क्योंकि संविधान सेना व शिक्षा से जुड़ी उपाधि के अलावा कोई भी खिताब देने की इजाजत नहीं देता।

इतिहास के पन्नो में दर्ज़ है कि महात्मा गांधी को राष्ट्रपिता की उपाधि सुभाष चंद्र बोस ने छह जुलाई, 1944 को सिंगापुर रेडियो पर अपने संबोधन में दी थी। इसके बाद सरोजिनी नायडू ने एक सम्मेलन में उन्हें यही उपाधि दी। जवाहर लाल नेहरू आदि तो उन्हें बापू कहते नहीं थकते थे| आज पूरा राष्ट्र उन्हें बापू और राष्ट्रपिता कहता है लेकिन सरकार ने जिस तरह से विदेशी के लिए अपने दरवाजे खोल दिए हैं उससे पता चलता है कि सरकार ने महात्मा गांधी के मार्ग को छोड़ दिया है अब अपने बात सही साबित करने के लिए गांधी से राष्ट्रपिता की उपाधि भी छीनी जा रही है|संविधान में संशोधन करने में एक्सपर्ट संसद को चाहिए कि एक और संशोधन करके राष्ट्रपिता को पहले से ही मिले हुए उनके सम्मान को बनाए रखा जाए वरना गांधीवादी मुखौटा उतार कर सबसे पहले [१] २ अक्टूबर के सार्वजानिक अवकाश को तो निरस्त कर दिया जाए [२]बापू की समाधि के लिए बने प्रोटोकोल में भी संशोधन कर दिए जाने जरुरी हैं|
