[New Delhi] Gopal Rai’s Transport Ministry Siphoned To Kejriwal’s Confident Satyender Jain
Senior minister Gopal Rai was relieved of the charge of the Transport Department and the portfolio has now been given to his cabinet colleague Satyendar Jain.
Last week, Rai requested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to relieve him from the responsibility of Transport Department on health grounds as he had recently undergone a major surgery.
Jain, who is known to be close to Kejriwal, already holds key portfolios of PWD, Health, Power and Home.
The departments left with Rai now include Labour, Irrigation and Flood Control, General Administration Department (GAD), Development and Employment.
Jain had temporarily taken care of the transport department for about 20 days when Rai had gone under a surgery to get a bullet removed from his neck and then physiotherapy treatment in Hyderabad.
Last month, he had announced Premium Bus Service Scheme to encourage the car users to leave their vehicles and use public transport.Which Came Under Scanner Of ACB as Lt Governor Najeeb Jung had refused to give his go-ahead to the scheme.

[New Delhi] Delhiite Taxi+Auto rickshaw Unions to go on Strike Against App Based Carriers
Taxi and auto rickshaw unions in Delhi today threatened to go on strike on April 11 if their demand to stop all app-based cab services in the city is not met.
They would also take out a protest march against the AAP government from Samta Sthal to Delhi Secretariat that day,
Last month, these Agitating unions had written to Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai and demanded that all app-based private cab services be stopped, asking they were taking away the livelihood of traditional black-yellow taxi and autorickshaw drivers.
There are around 13,000 black-yellow taxis and around 81,000 autorickshaws plying on the streets of the capital.
