[Jalandhar,Punjab] NAPA Links Intolerance “Jinn”With Asylum Seekers In USA During The Year 2015 total 2271 persons of Indian origin applied for asylum Which Is Four Time More Then Congress Regime.
NAPA in a press release issued today said that number of Indian origin asylum seekers in United States rapidly increasing soon after the taking over of BJP government in the center. Reason of increasing numbers of asylum seekers can be different from year to year but one thing seems to be very clear about the intolerance in India. in the year of
2013 Indian origin 513 total person applied for asylum from which 21 were female and 60 persons were granted asylum .This number of asylum seekers increased more than double in the year
2014 to total 1309 when the ruling BJP government came in power. Out of these total asylum seekers 23 were female and 77 persons were granted the asylum during this year. This is more than unfortunate that during the year of 2015 number of asylum seekers increased four times more than the year 2013 which is a great concern for all of us. In the year of
2015 total 2271 persons of Indian origin applied for asylum out of them 32 were females and 141 persons were granted asylum during this year added Chahal.NAPA urged the government of India to give a serious thought that why persons of Indian origin to get asylum are running to United States during the tenure of Present government.

NAPA Met Congressman John Garamendi And Received Assurance For Release of Detained Indians In USA

North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) led by its Chairman Sardar Dalwinder Singh Dhoot met Congressman John Garamendi at his residence to seek the release of those Indians who are detained since more than one year in EPASO Processing Center. Garamendi assured For Positive Cooperation
A delegation including the NAPA office bearers [1]Taranjit Singh Sandhu, [2]Santokh Singh Judge[3], Gurinderjit Singh Goggy [4]Dalbir Singh Sanghera told Congressman John Garamendi that the Punjabi detainees were on hunger strike for more than one week in protest to demand their release on parole or on bond , These detainees called off their One Week Old strike on Their intervention.
NAPA Panel also told to Congressman that as per the rules and regulations of the US Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) those detainees can be not be detained after six months of their detention. Therefore ICE authorities should follow the protocol to release these detainees on parole or on bond.
NAPA Panel also cleared to Congressman that they are only advocating and seeking the release on parole or on bond of those detainees whose identity and nationality had been established by the ICE authorities and there is no criminal background of these detainees.Pannel also told to congressman that Most of the relatives and family friends of these detainees are residents of California and it is very difficult for them to travel every time to ELPASO to follow up their cases in the courts.
Panel demanded that Cases of the detainees should be transferred from 5th circuit court to 9th circuit court in order to follow the cases of these detainees easily.
