Metropolitan Magistrate R S Pajankar, in his order last month, convicted Sanjay Gade under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.
The accused later admitted to his guilt and prayed for minimum imprisonment.
The court further said that since the accused was a “physically and mentally sick person” it took a lenient view while awarding him the sentence.

As per local Oshiwara police .Two women were rescued while another woman, who allegedly acted as a pimp, was arrested,
From a flat in Galaxy building in the housing complex Shabana Sheikh (45), who allegedly acted as agent in the flesh trade, was arrested under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act,
She was produced before a court on Wednesday and remanded in police custody.
It is not the first time that flesh trade racket has been busted at the high-profile society.
In June 2014, the Social Service branch of city police had conducted a raid at a flat in Patliputra Society. The flat belonged to BJP MP and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh, who had rented it out.

[Mumbai]Mumbaiker Journo “Herman”Attacked Near Own Home Herman Gomes, working with a private TV channel, was returning home along with a friend in a taxi late Saturday night.
When he got out of the cab around 1.30 am on Sunday, he saw four to six persons waiting near his house in Gamdevi area,
The persons started abusing Gomes and later allegedly assaulted him.
Journalists’ associations in the city condemned the attack and alleged that police did not file the victim’s complaint promptly.
The Mumbai Press Club termed the attack on Gomes as a “dastardly act”.
An association of crime reporters in the city, in a statement, demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.

This blaze broke out on ground floor of the three-storey building located in the industrial estate on Mulund Link Road,No injury or casualty was reported so far
The cause of the fire ,as usual,was not yet known
On January 19, a massive fire had broken out at the Navrang studio in the Todi Mills Compound in Lower Parel area.
On January 8, there was a fire on the third floor of the sessions court building which had been accorded a heritage status.
Prior to it,
on January 6, a huge fire broke out at the Cinevista studio in suburban Kanjurmarg, claiming one life.
In yet another incident
on January 4, four persons, including two children, were killed and five others seriously injured after an upper floor of a residential building in suburban Marol caught fire.

[Mumbai]Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshtriya.To Probe into Unfortunate Illicit Liquor [Hooch] Tragedy
The Maharashtra government today ordered a probe into the hooch tragedy deaths after 102 people succumbed to the killer brew in suburban Malwani here.
Excise Minister Eknath Khadse told media after the weekly cabinet meeting that the probe would be conducted by Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshtriya.
Khadse said.”The government has ordered a probe under the Chief Secretary to enquire into the deaths caused in the unfortunate Malwani hooch tragedy,”
The Minister also informed that the Chief Secretary has been asked to submit the report in three months.
Khadse also said that the cabinet has approved a proposal to invoke provisions of Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous activities of slum lords, bootleggers, drug offenders and Dangerous persons Act (MPDA) against those involved in black marketing of essential commodities.
Rattled by the tragedy, which took place at the Laxmi Nagar slum in Malwani on Wednesday night, Khadse had earlier said the government would bring in a harsher law to deal with the menace with provisions to ensure that those arrested for distilling and selling illicit liquor would not get bail for at least for one year after their arrest.
So far, seven persons have been arrested in the case and eight police and four excise officials suspended. All of those arrested are in police custody

As per sources this Gangwar took place at 2 PM at one of Mumbai’s most favoured shooting locations.Raju Shinde, 45, who was seated on a chair under a tree suffered bullet injury and was taken to Nanavati Hospital,
The two assailants, who are yet to be identified, opened fire at Shinde, who owns the security agency. Shinde is also an office bearer of Shiv Sena’s film wing, Chitrapat Sena.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, today, had requested criminal lawyer Nikam to appear as public prosecutor in the photojournalist gang-rape case.All five rapists have been arrested.
He has also informed Media that The case will be tried in fast-track court to ensure speedy justice to the victim
