E-rickshaw service for women will be launched in the city in the next few days which will have female drivers.
“In the first phase, 10 e-rickshaws have been arranged which will ply on select routes within the city. The routes would be chosen on the basis of areas which are frequented by women,” Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat was quoted as saying in a release today.
Officer said “The district administration has decided to recruit female drivers so that women and girls feel safe while travelling,”
