The Punjab Government has issued posting and transfer orders of
1 District Revenue Officer,
6 Tehsildars and
2 Naib Tehsildars of different divisions with immediate effect and reinstated one Naib Tehsildar.
Spokesman of the Punjab Government said that Mr. Avtar Singh has been posted as MEO, Office of the Finance Commissioner Revenue, Chandigarh,
Tehsildar . Ram Krishan has been transferred and posted at Samana,
. Siraj Ahmed at Dhuri,
Sandhoora Singh at Khanna,
Mandeep Kaur at Raikot,
Sukhpinder Kaur at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib
Harbans Singh at Lehragaga.
The Spokesman also said that 2 Naib Tehsildars transferred and posted are
Pawan Kumar at Dhanaula and
Manmohan Kumar as coloniser (Sangrur) at Ferozepur.
The spokesman further said that Mukhtiar Singh who was under suspension from 19 August, 2015 has been reinstated and posted at Ranjit Sagar Dam, Shahpur Kandi, Pathankot.

Actor Chevy Chase has checked himself into rehab for alcohol-related issue.
The National Lampoon’s “Vacation” star is an in-patient at Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota, a representative for the actor told People magazine.
Chase checked himself in for an alcohol-related issue which his representative calls a “tune-up,” adding that the actor “wants to be the best that he can be.”
The 72-year-old star has previously been to addiction treatment.
The actor is currently filming “Dog Years” with Burt Reynolds

Veteran industrialist Adi Godrej has spoken out against liquor prohibition, saying it won’t work and would be a futile exercise to enforce it.
“I am against liquor prohibition”, the Chairman of Godrej Group told PTI when asked for his views on the issue, with Bihar enforcing prohibition.
“I am not an expert on social issues but it does not work”, added Godrej, Adi Is Former President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
“Even when America had prohibition, it led to mafia being formed etc.

0.01% Cases ,Relating To Punjab Right to Service Act, Are Still Pending
[Chandigarh,Punjab]Only 0.01% Cases Relating To Punjab Right to Service Act, 2011 Are Pending . Punjab Government Claims that only 521 applications which is only 0.01% of the total applications for availing services are pending beyond time line.
As per Punjab Authorities 8,64,85,925 applicants have been provided notified services till July, 2016 since the inception of Punjab Right to Service Act, 2011 which includes 28,99,818 applicants during July, 2016.
Apart from this, suo-moto action in 803 cases on the complaints received by the Commission from various sources was initiated out of which 762 cases have been resolved leaving only 41 such applications for which matter is being pursued with the concerned authorities for early disposal.
Out of 1267 and 267 appeals filed before the 1st and 2nd Appellate Authorities,
1259 and 264 appeals respectively have been disposed of by the concerned authorities. Similarly
42 Revisions out of 44 received by the Commission have been disposed of.
85 officers/officials have been penalized by Commission as well as by 2nd Appellate Authorities for willful default in not adhering to the time lines notified by the State Govt. under Punjab Right to Service Act, 2011.
Help Desk with telephone No. 0172-2790182 has been set-up in the office of Commission for providing information to General Public regarding the services being rendered under the Act; procedure for obtaining these services and other queries relating to the service delivery of notified services, added the spokesman.
Commission has so far referred more than 666 complaints not covered under the Act, to various authorities for sympathetic consideration under intimation to the applicants

A fire broke out in the UCO Bank building, which also houses the regional office of the country’s premier news agency PTI in the tony Horniman Circle area of the megapolis.
No casualties were, however, reported.
Being a holiday on account of Ganesha festival, the building was sparsely occupied. The building, situated on the Heritage Mile area on the D N Road which is home to many landmarks of the city such as the high court, the museum, and many art galleries.
The fire was detected around 2 PM.
As per preliminarily assessment, the fire was suspected to have been caused by a short circuit on the ground floor, which houses the zonal headquarters of Kolkata-based UCO Bank.
The exact reason is yet to be ascertained
Ten fire tenders were pressed into service and the firemen were able to contain the flames after battling for almost three hours.
The building is located next to the historic Fountain Gardens and the Martyrs Square as well as opposite the Siddhartha College founded by B R Ambedkar.

केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने सर्वदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल से वार्ता करने से इनकार करने पर आज हुर्रियत नेताओं पर हमला बोला और कहा कि अलगाववादियों के व्यवहार ने दिखा दिया कि वे कश्मीरियत+इंसानियत+ जम्हूरियत में विश्वास नहीं करते हैं ।
राजनाथ ने कहा कि कश्मीर पर ‘‘वार्ता के लिए दरवाजे और खिड़कियां’’ हमेशा खुली हैं, लेकिन उन्होंने निकट भविष्य में पाकिस्तान से किसी तरह की बातचीत की संभावना से यह कहते हुए इनकार किया कि ‘‘पहले हमें अपने देश के भीतर लोगों से बात करने दीजिए ।’’
प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व कर रहे राजनाथ ने यात्रा के दूसरे दिन संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘‘प्रतिनिधिमंडल के कुछ सदस्य अपनी व्यक्तिगत हैसियत से हुर्रियत नेताओं से मिलने गए । ’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘प्रतिनिधियों द्वारा दी गई सूचना :इस बारे में कि सदस्यों से कैसा व्यवहार किया गया: यह स्पष्ट करती है कि यह न तो कश्मीरियत है और न ही इंसानियत ।’’ अलगाववादियों ने कल माकपा नेता सीताराम येचुरी, भाकपा के डी राजा, जदयू के शरद यादव, राजद के जयप्रकाश नारायण और एआईएमआईएम के असदुद्दीन ओवैसी जैसे सांसदों के उन तक पहुंच बनाने के प्रयासों को कोई तवज्जो नहीं दी थी ।यहां तक के मिलने से भी इनकार कर दिया गया और विपक्षी नेताओं को घर के बाहर से ही तर्क दिया गया
राजनाथ ने अलगाववादियों पर तीखा हमला बोलते हुए कहा, ‘‘सदस्य कल बात करने गए थे, लेकिन बातचीत से इनकार कर उन्होंने [अलगाववादियों ने] दिखा दिया कि वे जम्हूरियत में भी विश्वास नहीं करते ।

A Complaint has been lodged against AAP leader Ashutosh
Delhi Police has registered a complaint against AAP leader Ashutosh for his remarks in his blog in defence of sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar facing the charge of rape.
The complaint filed at Jyoti Nagar Police Station in northeast Delhi has demanded “mental check up” of Ashutosh
Complainant Subodh Jain, RTI activist and former journalist, said Ashutosh’s argument in defence of Sandeep Kumar that it was a matter of his “personal life” is a sign of his “warped mindset”.
“Now that the debauchery of his own party leader has been exposed Ashuotosh’s argument of private life and his questioning of Mahatma Gandhi’s character is a sign of his warped mindset,” Jain said in his complaint.
The complainant further added that Ashutosh’s “low-grade” argument has “deeply hurt” him as well as a large number of people in the country and all over world.
Ashutosh in a blog had referred to the reported relationships of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru with women to defend Kumar over the “objectionable” CD showing him in a compromising position with a woman and claimed that he was sacked as a minister for “perception management”.
A Senior Police says “We have received the complaint against Ashutosh and it is being looked into for further action.,
Ashutosh has come under sharp attack from Opposition parties as well as some AAP leaders, who have criticised his blog in support of Kumar drawing parallels with Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Atal Bihari Vajpayee NCW has also issued summon to Ashutosh

एक विवादित बयान देते हुये उन्होंने कहा कि ‘अपने नकली साधुओं और संतों के बजाय’ मदर टेरेसा वास्तव में संत की उपाधि प्रदान किये जाने की हकदार हैं।
एक ट्वीट में उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘मानवता और गरीबी के लिए मदर टेरेसा के योगदान के लिए मैं उन्हें सैल्यूट करता हूं। हमारे फर्जी साधुओं और संतों के बजाय वह एक सच्चा ‘संत’ घोषित किए जाने की हकदार हैं।’’
पिछले साल कांग्रेस छोड़ कर आप में शामिल होने वाले खरा ने इसके बाद किये गये एक अन्य ट्वीट में अपने पिछले ट्वीट पर सफाई देते हुये कहा कि, ‘‘मैं अंधविश्वास फैलाने वाले फर्जी साधुओं के खिलाफ हूं।’’
उन्होंने बताया, ‘‘मैंने वास्तविक साधुओं और संतों के बारे में कुछ नहीं कहा है और ना ही किसी का नाम लिया है।
मैं केवल उन लोगों के बारे में बात कर रहा हूं जो केवल लोगों की संवदेनाओं से खेलते हैं और अंधविश्वास फैलाते हैं।’’
