The Punjab Government has placed Under Suspension the services of
[1]Deputy Director Mr. Prabhjit Singh Kalra and
[2]Senior Assistant Mrs. Madhu Sharma
of Information & Public Relations Department, Punjab under suspension due to dereliction of duty.
As per Govt Official ,Orders to this effect have already been issued by the department.

The Punjab Election Commission has partnered with the Facebook in order to reach out to potential young voters ahead of the 2017 assembly polls, Chief Electoral Officer VK Singh said today.
A reminder to register their names for the forthcoming elections will appear on the timeline of all Facebook users of 18 years of age and above in Punjab on October 6.
This drive is part of the partnership between Facebook India and CEO of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand which are going to polls in 2017.
From October 6-9, Facebook users in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand, who are 18 years and above, will receive a reminder in their ‘News Feed’ to register to vote for a day.
By clicking on the ‘Register Now’ button, users will be directed to the National Voters’ Services Portal which will guide them through the registration process.
The feature will be available for people on Facebook in Punjab on the October 6, for those in Manipur on October 7, for people in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on October 8 and for people in Goa on October 9, the release said.

[New Delhi] Roopa [Dropadi]Ganguly of Mahabharat Fame Nominated to RS Seat Vacated By Sidhu .Sidhu Has Formed Hs Own Party Aawaaz e Punjab.
Actress and BJP leader Roopa Ganguly, who had played the role of the mythological character Draupadi in the hit television series Mahabharat, was today nominated to the Rajya Sabha.
Ganguly, who had unsuccessfully contested the West Bengal Assembly elections this year on BJP ticket, was nominated by President Pranab Mukherjee to the seat vacated by cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned recently following differences with the BJP leadership.
The 49-year-old actress came into limelight with the 1988 mega-mythological serial Mahabharat, where she played the role of Draupadi. She has also acted in a few Hindi and Bengali films in the 1990s and the 2000s.
Ganguly had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2015.
In April, the government had nominated Subramanian Swamy, Narendra Jadhav, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Suresh Gopi, Swapan Dasgupta and Mary Kom as the new Rajya Sabha members.
The government had also nominated Pranav Pandya, head of All World Gayatri Pariwar, as Rajya Sabha member in May but he declined it. In his place, the government then nominated Sambhaji Raje, a descendant of Shivaji, to the Rajya Sabha in June.
Sidhu had resigned from the Rajya Sabha in July, about three months after his nomination, and had formed a new front Aawaaz-e-Punjab.

BJP today asked Kejriwal not to belittle the armed forces by getting influenced by Pakistani “propaganda”.
At a press conference, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the AAP leader should answer whether he believed in the Indian Army or not.
Kejriwal should not “belittle the great leadership, courage and sacrifice of armed forced under the garb of seeking proof,” Prasad said, and alleged that he has given the neighbouring country a chance to question the Indian Army’s assertion.

Popular actor Alok Nath’s son has been booked for alleged drunken driving in suburban Mumbai,
The Alok Nath known as “Babu Ji” son, Shivang Nath, accompanied by three friends, including two women, was returning from a birthday party in his car late last night.
He was on the wheels when traffic police asked him to stop the car while checking for drunk driving. However, instead of stopping the vehicle, Shivang increased the speed and tried to flee.
The police then chased him and intercepted his car on the SV Road in suburban Bandra and brought him to Santacruz police station.
Since Shivang was allegedly in an inebriated state and not having the driving license, his female friends tried to argue with the police that they were driving the vehicle,
Later the Bandra Traffic Police booked him for drunken driving,

[New Delhi]Defence Awarded For Redressing 2000 Grievances During the Quarter Dr Jitendra Singh awards Certificates of Appreciation to the Ministries/ Departments for their performance in CPGRAMS
The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh awarded the Certificates of Appreciation to the Ministries/Departments based on their performance in the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS),
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the number of grievances received have increased in the last two years. It is an indication of increasing faith of the citizens in the grievance redressal mechanism, he added. He also said that he himself and the senior officers of Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) have been personally calling the citizens whose grievances have been redressed. These calls are made at random to the citizens to take feedback from them and to ascertain their satisfaction level.
The CPGRAMS is an online web enabled application to facilitate speedy redress of public grievances as it allows for online lodging and status tracking of grievances by the citizens. The system is flexible enough to be extended to multiple levels as per the requirement of concerned Ministry/Department/ Govt. Organization for speedy forwarding and redress of grievance.

DGCA Predicts More Domestic Flights This Winter

[New Delhi]DGCA Predicts More Domestic Flights This Winter
Domestic carriers will operate around 21 per cent more flights this winter as compared to the same period last year.
However, there will be lesser number of airports available for scheduled operations in the winters of 2016-17, a DGCA official said today.
Winter schedule for the Indian airlines will commence from October 30 this year and will go up to the last week of March 2017.
According to the official, under the winter schedule, which was approved recently, a total of 16,600 flights will be operated per week by the domestic airlines as against 13,744 flights operated by them in the winters of 2015-16,
an increase of 20.8 per cent.
Scheduled operations will be available to and from 76 airports during the winter schedule of 2016-17,
the official said adding 81 aerodromes were available for this purpose in the previous year

An empty Pakistani boat was today seized by BSF troops from River Ravi in Punjab’s Pathankot sector.
The seizure comes at a time when there is heightened vigil due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan.
The seizure comes two days after a Pakistani boat with nine crew members was apprehended off the Gujarat coast by the Indian Coast Guard on October 2..Coast Guard Ship ‘Samudra Pavak’ apprehended the Pakistani boat having nine crew members off Gujarat coast during patrolling.
