North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) led by its Chairman Sardar Dalwinder Singh Dhoot met Congressman John Garamendi at his residence to seek the release of those Indians who are detained since more than one year in EPASO Processing Center. Garamendi assured For Positive Cooperation
A delegation including the NAPA office bearers [1]Taranjit Singh Sandhu, [2]Santokh Singh Judge[3], Gurinderjit Singh Goggy [4]Dalbir Singh Sanghera told Congressman John Garamendi that the Punjabi detainees were on hunger strike for more than one week in protest to demand their release on parole or on bond , These detainees called off their One Week Old strike on Their intervention.
NAPA Panel also told to Congressman that as per the rules and regulations of the US Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) those detainees can be not be detained after six months of their detention. Therefore ICE authorities should follow the protocol to release these detainees on parole or on bond.
NAPA Panel also cleared to Congressman that they are only advocating and seeking the release on parole or on bond of those detainees whose identity and nationality had been established by the ICE authorities and there is no criminal background of these detainees.Pannel also told to congressman that Most of the relatives and family friends of these detainees are residents of California and it is very difficult for them to travel every time to ELPASO to follow up their cases in the courts.
Panel demanded that Cases of the detainees should be transferred from 5th circuit court to 9th circuit court in order to follow the cases of these detainees easily.

नई संसद के लिए हो रहे आम चुनावों में पंजाब में सिख राजनीती तो उछाल पर है ही मगर इसके साथ ही अमेरिका में भी सिखों से जुड़े मुद्दे लगातार चर्चा का विषय बने हुए हैं | भारत में १९८४ में हुए सिख विरोधी नर संहार में सत्ता रुड कांग्रेस को अमेरिकी अदालत में घसीटने के प्रयास पर आज वहां की एक अदालत ने पानी फेर दिया | सिख विरोधी दंगों के मामले में एक सिख समूह द्वारा कांग्रेस पार्टी के खिलाफ दायर मानवाधिकार उल्लंघन के एक मुकदमे को खारिज कर दिया है गया है ।अदालत ने मुकदमा खारिज करते हुए कहा कि अमेरिका से जुड़े नहीं होने के फलस्वरूप मुकदमा दायर करने को लेकर कोई कानूनी आधार नहीं बनता है |जज रोबर्ट स्वीट ने सिख फॉर जस्टिस (एसएफजे) द्वारा दायर मुकददमे में भारतीय कांग्रेस पार्टी की अपील स्वीकार की और आदेश दिया कि मानवाधिकार समूह एक वादी नहीं है
इसके अलावा एक अन्य मामले में सिखों को उनकी धार्मिक आस्थाओं के साथ अमेरिकी फौज में भर्ती किये जाने की मांग की गई है
अमेरिका के 16 प्रभावशाली इंडियन -अमेरिकन्स ने वहां के रक्षा मंत्री चक हेगल से अनुरोध किया है कि सिखों को उनकी धार्मिक आस्थाओं के साथ सशस्त्र बलों में शामिल होने की इजाजत दी जाए।
, 25 अप्रैल को लिखे गए पत्र में कहा गया कि अमेरिकी रक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा अपने नियमों का आधुनिकीकरण करके सिख-अमरीकियों को अपनी आस्था के साथ देश की सेना में शामिल होकर अपनी सेवाएं देने का अवसर प्रदान किया जाना चाहिए नाटो सहयोगियों द्वारा पहले से ही सिखों को यह अनुमति दी जाती है
गौरतलब है कि भारत की नई लोक सभा के लिए हो रहे चुनावों में पंजाब की १३ लोक सभा सीटों के लिए घमासान मचा हुआ हैइसके लिए धार्मिक एक दूसरे विशेष कर कांग्रेस और अकाली दल+भाजपा में वाक युद्ध जारी है|इसीके चलते सांसद मजीठिया को धार्मिक शबद की बेअदबी के लिए तनखैया भी घोषित किया जा चुका हैभाजपा के पी एम कैंडिडेट नरिंदर मोदी की अमृतसर दरबार साहब में हाजरी नहीं भरने के लिए खिंचाई की जा रही है |कांग्रेस के विरुद्ध १९८४ के सिख विरोधी नर संहार को रचने के आरोप दोहराये जा रहे हैं |

Majithia said in his apology that he had realized the mistake done by him unmindfully, for which he humbly tendered apology before Sikh Panth.. The head of the Akal Takht, highest temporal seat of the Sikhs, could order Majithia to be presented before him.
Meanwhile, Sikh Sangat has carried out protests against Majithia in Amritsar and other parts of Punjab.

NAPA Demands Immediate Release Of 100 Punjabi youth From El Paso detention facility In Accordance With ICE Directives NAPA Has Demanded Immediate Release Of 100 Punjabi youth From El Paso detention facility.
North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) is calling higher authorities of US Immigration and Custom enforcement (ICE) for an investigation into the detention of around 100 Punjabi youth at an El Paso detention facility.
In a separate letters sent to US Law makers and Mr Thomas S. Winooski Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Satnam Singh Chahal executive director of NAPA said that as per the ICE directive number 11002.1 which is effective from January 04, 2010 those detained Punjabi youths in ELPASO Jail who qualify under section 8.2 onwards of this directive should be released on Parole or bond as soon as possible. Chahal said that these Punjabi detainee’s everyday calling us that I.C.E.authorities determined their identity, nationality and they are also not a threat to national security.
While sending a copy of this director along with all the letters NAPA seek release of those 100 Punjabi detainees in ELPASO Processing center who are detained more than six months and are qualify for humanitarian release on parole or bond .Chahal said that although overwhelming number of immigrant detention centers are privately owned and operated, but the El Paso Processing Center is run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department where they can decide the fate of these Punjabi detainees on humanitarian ground at the earliest. Chahal recalled the authorities that Parents and family members of these detainees are suffering with great mental torture due to the detention of these boys and also cleared the air to all authorities concerned that NAPA is not seeking the release of those detainees who had any kind of criminal record or have no identification and proof of Nationality. Chahal also disclosed that they are consulting with the Legal advocates to file Habeas Petitions in courts jointly using reference of Casas-Castrillon and Diouf case decision.

आयुध पथ स्थित आर टी सी हॉस्टल में अखिल भारतीय रक्षा लेखा कर्मचारी संघ[कलकत्ता] की आहत एक बैठक में राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष यतीन्द्र चौधरी और महा सचिव जी पी दत्ता ने अपने सदस्यों को एक मेनिफेस्टो के रूप में अपनी एसोसिएशन की उपलब्धि+प्रतिबद्धता+समस्याओं की जानकारी दी और सदस्यता अभियान को गति देने को प्रेरित किया|यतीन्द्र चौधरी ने बताया कि पिछले वेतन आयोग की सिफारिशों पर वेतन मान नहीं देने के लिए रक्षा लेखा विभाग ने फ़ाइल डी ओ पी टी की तरफ सरका दी जहाँ से अदालत का रास्ता दिखाया गया |अदालत में हारने के बावजूद रिव्यू जैसे गड्डों में डाला जा रहा है| इससे केवल रक्षा लेखा विभाग के ही ६००० कर्मचारी प्रभावित हैं इनमे से कई तो रिटायर भी हो चुके हैं|
विभाग ने चतुर्थ श्रेणी कर्मियों के साथ भी सहानुभूति नहीं दिखाई है इनके प्रोमोशन के लिए ट्रेनिंग और परीक्षा पर लगभग डेड करोड़ रूपये खर्च किये जा चुके हैं उसके बावजूद इनका रिजल्ट नहीं डिक्लेअर किया जा रहा|
अनुकम्पा मूलक आधार पर न्युक्ति के सैकड़ों मामलों पर कोई सुनवाई नहीं हो रही |
सेवानिवृति के पश्चात सी एस डी कैंटीन की सुविधा समाप्त कर दी गई हैयदपि यह मामला रक्षा मंत्रालय से जुड़ा है लेकिन कर्मचारियों के हितों की पैरवी नहीं की जा रही यह मामला भी अब जबल पुर की अदालत में चल रहा है
अधीनस्थ कार्यालयों में तैनात कर्मचारियों के स्थाई पहचान पत्र नहीं बनाये जा रहे
लेखा नगर आदि आवासीय कालोनियों में रखरखाव में कोई रूचि नहीं ली जा रही यतीन्द्र चौधरी ने इन समस्यायों को जॉइंट कौंसिल आफ मेंबर्स[ JCM ] की आगामी बैठक में उठाने और सातवें वेतन आयोग के समक्ष उठाने का का आश्वासन दिया
उपाध्यक्ष करण प्रदीप ने सेवानिवृति के लिए निर्धारित तिथि में परिवर्तन की मांग की उन्होंने बताया कि वर्तमान में सभी को एक जुलाई से वेतन वृद्दि[ AnnualIncrement ] का प्रावधान हैयदि किसी कर्मचारी ने ३० जून को एक वर्ष पूरा कर लिया है और उसकी सेवा निवृति एक जुलाई से पूर्व होती है तो उसे एनुअल इन्क्रीमेंट नहीं मिलता है
बैठक में राकेश मालिक +महेंद्र सिंह+महक सिंह+सतीश ग्रोवर आदि ने भाग लिया
