Three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants, including an IED expert, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the area following information about the presence of militants there.
After laying the cordon in the area, announcements were made for the militants to surrender, but they fired upon the security forces, defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said.
The forces retaliated, ensuing a gunfight in which three militants were killed, the spokesman said.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister & Son of Ex CM Farooq Abdullah , Omar Abdullah was released on Tuesday after nearly eight months of detention.
Abdullah, who turned 50 on March 10, had spent 232 days in custody since the government announced abrogation of the special status of the erstwhile state on August 5 last year.
The National Conference leader was initially detained under preventive custody and later slapped with the PSA on February 5.

भाजपा सदस्य बिशेश्वर तुडू ने लोकसभा में शून्यकाल के दौरान यह मामला उठाते हुए कहा कि सिंधु घाटी की मोहनजोदाड़ो सभ्यता से ताल्लुक रखने वाले इस समुदाय के लोग आज बदहाली का जीवन जी रहे हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि विभाजन के समय पाकिस्तान के सिंध से ये लोग शरणार्थियों के रूप में भारत में आकर बसे थे।
उन्होंने कहा कि सिंधी समुदाय के संरक्षण के लिए अलग से सिंध प्रदेश का गठन किए जाने के साथ ही सिंधी कल्याण बोर्ड, राष्ट्रीय सिंधी अकादमी, सिंधी टीवी और रेडियो चैनल शुरू करने की तथा 26 जनवरी की परेड में सिंधी समुदाय की झांकी को शामिल किए जाने की मांग की।
साथ ही उन्होंने भगवान झूलेलाल के जन्मदिन पर अवकाश घोषित किए जाने की भी मांग की

The Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital had reported two fatalities on Wednesday.

Some members of the Muslim community on Wednesday launched an indefinite sit-in against the amended citizenship law and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC ) here.
The indefinite dharna began at Dana Mandi here near Jalandhar bypass on the lines of the ongoing Shaheen Bagh protest in Delhi.
“This is another Shaheen Bagh in Ludhiana. Our protest will continue until the Modi government withdraws this Act (CAA),” said Maulana Abul-Ur-Rehman Sani, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid.
Shaheen Bagh in Delhi has become the epicentre of the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) as women with young children have been staging a sin-in there for nearly two months.
The sit-in by members of the community was to be organised near the statue of B R Ambedkar but was shifted to Dana Mandi here.
