A 50-year-old Italian woman was today not allowed to board a domestic flight after she was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and allegedly argued with CISF personnel.
The woman allegedly argued with the security personnel who sought her travel papers during routine checks, airport officials said.
Also, while taking her baggage trolley to an airline’s enclosure, she had arguments with personnel there prompting authorities to intervene.
As per Officials airport authorities did not allow her to take a Delhi-bound flight and were questioning her,

In yet another incident, a glass ceiling panel near the arrival area of the domestic airport fell down today, but none were injured.
Airport authorities said the glass panel fell down near Gate No 1 around 1900 hrs. Since there were no people in the area, nobody was injured, they said.

A Kozhikode-bound passenger, who arrived from Kuala Lumpur by a Malaysian Airlines flight, was questioned and searched. He was found carrying two gold biscuits, weighing one kg, concealed in his shoes,
In the second incident, a passenger, who arrived from Kuala Lumpur by an Air India Express flight, was found carrying one kg gold concealed in his rectum.

Three flights, including two international , were today diverted following heavy downpour,
Two international flights arriving from Frankfurt +Singapore, respectively, which were supposed to land here this morning, were diverted to Bengaluru + Tiruchirapalli, following heavy rain, officials said.
Another domestic aircraft from Pune to Chennai was also diverted to Bengaluru, they said.
Passengers waiting to board these flights were left stranded as they were diverted at the last minute, officials said.
Alternative arrangements are being made for the passengers, they added.

A 46-year-old passenger from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, travelling here by a flight for some medical treatment, was found dead when the aircraft landed at the airport today.
Robert, accompanied by his family members, remained unmoved in his seat when the co-passengers started disembarking after the Air India flight from Andaman landed .Alerted by the family members, the flight crew sought the help of airport medical team which examined and declared him dead.
The cause of the death would be known after post-mortem, they said adding the body had been handed over to Meenambakkam Police, who have registered a case and are investigating.
