Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today claimed that the Punjab government has fulfilled 95 per cent of the promises made in its manifesto in 2012.

He said more than Rs 20 thousand crore would be spent connecting all major cities with 4-6 lanes across the state.
He claimed that Punjab was the only state which was giving free power upto Rs 5500 crore annually to farmers.

old age pensions are the key decisions of the Government.
He said this year would observed as development year and Rs 25 crore would be released to each constituency for inclusive development.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that more than one lakh jobs would be filled in next six months.
He said the Punjab Government has decided to release grants to M Mandals and youth clubs to empower the women and youth in the rural areas.
He announced Rs 150 crore for the sewerage and water supply in Batala city besides the creation of ADC post for the city.
The Deputy Chief Minister also distributed more than Rs 13 crore to 81 villages for development works.
Besides that Rs 12 crore was also announced as grants for the villages.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Congress would be the only opponent of the SAD-BJP in the next assembly elections.
Terming AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal as a “hollow leader”, Badal alleged “he is spending Rs 552 crore on his personal propaganda which is a loot of public finances.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today appeared in a local court in connection with a case of poll violence in 1999.
As per Defence advocate Satnam Singh,Dy CM appeared in the court of Judicial Magistrate Satish Kumar who fixed February 25 the next date of hearing in the case,
On February 2, the court had asked Sukhbir to appear before it in person.
The Deputy CM appeared in a court after eight years as he had earlier been exempted from personal appearance.
Naresh Sehgal, a Kotkapura resident, had filed a case against Sukhbir and a few others in connection with poll violence that took place in Kotkapura in 1999
Badal had contested the parliamentary elections from Faridkot.
The case against Sukhbir and others was registered on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2006 after Sehgal had approached the court.
The high court had put a stay on the case in September 2008 but it was vacated a single-judge bench on December 21 last year.

Dy CM Sukhbir Singh demanded more funds from Centre for smart city
Demanding more funds from the Centre under the Smart City project, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today sought Rs 2,500 crore for the city even as he announced the construction of an elevated road here at the cost of Rs 1,100 crore.
“The Centre should allot at least Rs 2,500 crore for Ludhiana because an amount of Rs 500 crore was not sufficient for overall development of the city,” he said here, adding, his state was willing to invest Rs 500 crore for the city alone.
In Punjab, Ludhiana+Jalandhar+Amritsar will be developed as smart cities.
Badal said an elevated road would be constructed in the city, starting from Samrala Chowk to Octroi Post on Ferozepur Road at a cost of Rs 1,100 crore, with an aim to ease traffic congestion here.
Under the Safe City project, high resolution CCTV cameras would be installed in 160 different places here which would help in checking crime. The first phase of this project would be completed by November this year, Badal said.About the Sahnewal airport, the Deputy chief minister said it could not function properly due to some “technical problems”.
Badal said he has taken up the matter with the Civil Aviation Ministry and has requested it to construct civil terminals at the Halwara Air Force Station which could be used as a domestic airport.
He assured the city residents that by January 2016 all roads in Ludhiana would be free from potholes as the state was coming up with a comprehensive project.Also, for better and effective cleaning of roads, Italian-made automatic cleaning machines would be deputed in all cities of the state in next two months, he said.
All national highways and state highways of Punjab would be upgraded by spending Rs 5,000 crore, he said.
NHAI has finalised the DPR for six-laning with alignment starting from Sector-39 junction Chandigarh following NH-21 and NH-95 upto Samrala Chowk in Ludhiana under Build?operate? transfer model, the Deputy Chief Minister said.

Smt Gurbachan Kaur[85]The mother of Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa Passed away on 25 June at her residence in Qaidan town of Gurdaspur district.
She was 85.
Gurbachan Kaur mother of Bajwa and wife of late Satnam Singh Bajwa, former minister of Punjab.
is also mother-in-law of Qadian MLA Charanjit Kaur Bajwa.

केंद्र सरकार के प्रवर्तन निदेशालय ने पंजाब सरकार के मंत्री को ड्रग्स स्मगलिंग में समन तामील कराया

[चंडीगढ़] केंद्र सरकार के आधीन प्रवर्तन निदेशालय[ED] से सम्मन पाने वाले पंजाब में भाजपा के सहयोगी अकाली राजस्व मंत्री बिक्रम सिंह मजीठिया ने ६ हजार करोड़ रूपए के मादक पदार्थ रैकेट मामले में धनशोधन की शिकायतों की जांच में पूरा सहयोग करने का आश्वासन दिया लेकिन अकाली दल बादल ने अपने मंत्री का इस्तीफा लेने से इंकार किया|गौरतलब है कि पंजाब सरकार द्वारा बीते दिनों पकड़े किये गए एक मादक पदार्थ तस्कर द्वारा अकाली दल के वित्त मंत्री श्री मजीठिया और एक अन्य का नाम लिया है जिसके आधार पर ई डी ने समन भेजा है | जिसका पालन करने के लिए मजीठिया को २६ दिसंबर को जालंधर कार्यालय में पहुंचना है |कांग्रेस ने ई डी कि कार्यवाही को असक्षम बताते हुए सी बी आई से जांच की मांग की है |जबकि अकाली दल ने इसे कांग्रेस का षड्यंत्र बताया है
पंजाब के वयोवृद्ध मुख्यमंत्री प्रकाश सिंह [बादल] ने राजस्व मंत्री बिक्रम सिंह मजीठिया को अंतरराष्ट्रीय मादक पदार्थ मामले में प्रवर्तन निदेशालय के नोटिस के बाद कांग्रेस और “आप” पार्टी के दबाव के बावजूद मजीठिया से त्यागपत्र मांगने से इनकार किया। सीएम के अनुसार केवल समन के आधार पर किसी से इस्तीफा लेना उचित नही होगा|श्री मजीठिया उप मुख्य मंत्री सुखबीर सिंह बादल की पत्नी के भाई हैं|श्रीमती हरसिमरत कौर स्वयं भी केंद्र में फ़ूड मंत्री हैं |
