[New Delhi] Two Big Democracies Reiterate Their Commitment to Counter Terrorism
The US Ambassador to India Mr. Kenneth I. Juster along with other officials of the Embassy called on Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi
They reiterated the strong resolve of India and US to jointly counter the threats posed by terrorism to two of the world’s biggest democracies as well as the world peace.
In this regard, Mr. Kenneth Juster expressed his country’s keenness to continue the ongoing Homeland Security Dialogue between India and US for a concrete conclusion.
They also discussed measures to further strengthen Indo-US ties during the meeting.

केंद्रीय गृह राज्य मंत्री किरेन रीजीजू की यहां अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (एम्स) में सर्जरी की गयी।
प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार 46 वर्षीय केंद्रीय मंत्री को कल अस्पताल के निजी वार्ड में साइनस के ऑपरेशन लिए भर्ती कराया गया था।

[New Delhi] Law Violator 5K NGOs Barred From Receiving Foreign Funding
Nearly 5,000 NGOs were barred by the government from receiving foreign funding after cancellation of their licences since April 2017,
Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju said in Lok Sabha that the registration of the NGOs under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act was cancelled after they were found to be violating the laws.
Rijiju said one time opportunity to upload pending annual returns from 2010-11 onwards without depositing any penalty was provided to all the defaulting NGOs from May 14, 2017 to June 15, 2017.
Replying to another question, the minister said during the last five financial years, Directorate of Enforcement has registered cases against 2,745 companies under the provisions of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999, out of which 537 cases have been closed and 183 show cause notices have been issued.
Cases against 289 companies have also been registered under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002,

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju visited SVP National Police Academy in Hyderabad today. The Minister of State inaugurated a 5 day seminar on National Security, Economic Security, Environmental Security and Energy Security. While addressing the seminar the Minister of State communicated the Government’s vision of zero tolerance for terrorism guaranteeing the secure India. He emphasized that the young IPS Officers should display extraordinary quality to serve the nation by following the existing rules and norms. He expressed his happiness over the Academy’s training to the Police Officers of neighboring countries Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.
Earlier, the Minister of State also inaugurated the Special Tactics Wing Building which will facilitate Tactical Training of the Police Officers. He also witnessed an equestrian show conducted by the Equestrian Wing of the Academy.
