An assistant commissioner of police tested positive for novel coronavirus in Ludhiana in Punjab
As per Ludhiana Civil Surgeon Rajesh Bagga the test reports of the officer, confirming him to be positive for the virus, came on Sunday night.
The ACP (North) was admitted to a local hospital, Bagga ,Now health teams were identifying his contacts.

The Punjab government on Friday extended the coronavirus lockdown till April 30, becoming the second state after Odisha to do so.

Punjab has seen a spike in the number of coronavirus cases in the past few days, pushing the total count to 132 so far with 11 deaths.
Earlier in the day, during a video conference with the media, hosted by the AICC from New Delhi, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had indicated that his government was seriously thinking of extending the lockdown as the time did not appear to be right for lifting the ongoing restrictions.
He also said the government was looking for ways to extricate the state from the restrictions and enable it to function with the coronavirus around.

The government on Friday said that there is enough stock of hydroxychloroquine in the country and it is taking all steps to ensure that there is no shortage of the drug in the domestic market.
India manufactures 70 per cent of the world’s supply of hydroxychloroquine. Companies like IPCA and Zydus Cadila are the major manufacturers of hydroxychloroquine in the country.
The Indian pharmaceutical industry earlier this week said there is enough stock of hydroxychloroquine in the country and drug firms are ready to ramp up the production to meet domestic as well as export requirements.
India currently has an annual installed capacity of around 40 tonnes of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) of hydroxychloroquine. With this capacity, it can make around 200 million tablets of 200 mg, which can be ramped up, the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) had said.
India on Tuesday had decided to partially lift the ban on the export of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine in sync with its global commitment to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

(New Delhi) IndiGo Suspends International Flights till Apr 30th
Amid the nationwide lockdown implemented to contain the spread of novel coronavirus in India, budget carrier IndiGo said on Wednesday it is suspending its international flights till April 30.
Air India has already suspended domestic and international flights till April 30.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday said the country will remove its restrictions on flight operations once it is fully confident that the spread of coronavirus has come under control.
Cargo flights, offshore helicopter operations, medical evacuation flights and special flights permitted by Indian aviation regulator DGCA are permitted to operate during this lockdown.

The Gandhi scion had earlier sent trucks full of wheat and rice for distribution among the locals
Gandhi represented the Amethi Lok Sabha seat since 1999. He lost the seat to Union minister Smriti Irani in the last general elections.
He is curently a Member of Parliament from Wayanad constituency in Kerala.
