उत्तर प्रदेश पोलिस ने मुनीर को पकड़वाने वाले को पचास हजार रुपये के इनाम की घोषणा की है |ऍन आई ऐ अधिकारी तंजील अहमद की हत्या में मुनीर मुख्य आरोपी है |एडिशनल डायरेक्टर जनरल ऑफ़ पुलिस (लॉ एंड आर्डर) दलजीत सिंह चौधरी डी जी पी जावेद अहमद के अनुसार सैंकड़ों लोगों से पूछताछ की गई है लेकिन अभी तक कोई गिरफ़्तारी नहीं हुई है| इंडियन मुजाहिदीन सा सम्बंधित मामलों की पड़ताल कर रहे तंजील अहमद को ३ अप्रैल को गोलियों से भून दिया गया था इनकी पत्नी फरजाना गम्भीर रूप से जख्मी है
