Lok Sabha MP Prem Singh Chandumajra today said SAD would file defamation suit against Congress leader Sunil Jakhar for alleging a scam worth Rs 20,000 crore on account of misappropriation of food grains.
Chandumajra said “Akali dal will file a defamation suit against Jakhar soon,”
Akali Leader claimed that the issuance of Cash Credit Limit (CCL) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has vindicated the stand of SAD-BJP alliance that there was no misappropriation of even a single grain in the state.
He slammed former Chief of Congress Legislature party Jakhar for indulging in cheap politics over this sensitive issue.
The Lok Sabha MP said that had there been a bit of embezzlement in food grains than the RBI would not have issued the CCL to the state.
Chandumajra said that in their mad race to emerge taller than their rivals within the party, the Congress leaders were indulging in mudslinging against the ruling alliance thereby misleading the people of the state

Punjab government today issued transfer and posting orders of six IAS and five PCS officers in the state.

Abhinav has been posted as Special Secretary, Finance and in addition Director, Treasury & Accounts in place of Supreet Singh Gulati.
Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu has been posted as Controller, Printing and Stationery and in addition Secretary, Punjab State Information Commission against a vacant post,
Parveen Kumar Thind has been posted as Director, Local Government while
Pardeep Kumar has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur.
Supreet Singh Gulati has been given the charge of Additional Secretary, Excise and Taxation and in addition Additional Excise and Taxation Commissioner,
IAS officer D K Tiwari has been given the charge of Secretary, Local Government during the leave period of Vikas Pratap.
Priyank Bharti has been relieved of his duties from the state of Punjab, so as to enable him to join as Director in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi.
Among PCS officers who have been shifted are Hargunjit Kaur, Moneesh Kumar, Anil Kumar Garg, Amrbir Kaur Bhullar and Rajdeep Kaur

have been promoted in the rank of Additional Director General of Police in the pay scale of Rs.67,000-79,000.

of Maha Vir Chakra and Kirti Chakra to Rs one crore from Rs 20 lakh and of
Vir Chakra / Shaurya Chakra to Rs 50 lakh from Rs 15 lakh.
Similarly the winners of Sena, Nau Sena, Vayu Sena Medal winners will get Rs 14 lakh against present Rs 7 lakh while the Mention-in-Dispatch recipients will get Rs 10 lakh against the present amount of Rs 5 lakh.

Punjab Dispatched Rs191.75Cr Of SYL Funds to Haryana:Legal Battle Returns

[Chandigarh,Punjab] SAD+BJP Led Punjab Govt Returns all SYL Funds to Haryana
Punjab Cabinet has taken a decision to return all funds received by the state from Haryana for the Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal,
The Punjab government today despatched a cheque of Rs 191.75 crore to Haryana government.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in a DO letter to his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar this evening apprised him about the Council of Minister s decision to return the entire fund received by Punjab from Haryana for the SYL Canal,
“I am, therefore enclosing herewith a cheque bearing No’ 997640 for an amount of Rs 191.75 crore”, said the letter written by Badal to Haryana Chief Minister.
The decades-long legal dispute between Punjab and Haryana on the sharing of river waters is back in the spotlight.
This week, the Supreme Court resumed hearings on the validity of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act of 2004.
The Punjab Cabinet had yesterday approved to return the entire money which it had received from Haryana in respect of SYL.
The Cabinet had also reiterated the SAD-BJP alliance government s firm commitment not to allow even a single drop of its rightful river waters to Haryana.
The Punjab government on Monday had passed a bill in the State Assembly seeking to re-vest property rights to the owners of nearly 4000 acres of land from whom it was acquired to construct the main Satluj Yamuna Link canal, with generous provisions for returning the compensation.
Haryana had paid compensation to the owners of the land at the time of acquisition of the land in Punjab.

Recognising the contributions and sacrifice of Baba Jai Singh Khalkat made by him to uphold the rich Sikh tenets,
Sardar . Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister, Punjab constituted a committee to construct a memorial in his native village Baran in district Patiala.
Disclosing this an official spokesperson said that . Sewa Singh Sekhwan, former cabinet minister, Punjab has been made the chairman of this committee whereas Deputy Commissioner, Patiala has been inducted as vice chairman. He said that notification in this regard has also been issued. ADC (General), Patiala would be the Nodal officer for this task and Sarpanches of both the two Panchayats of village Baran have been inducted in the committee as members.
Likewise President and General Secretary of the Gurudwara committee of village Baran have also been made the members in this committee.
Baba Jai Singh had sacrificed whole of his family during Mughal Rule in 1753 in the endeavour to uphold the sikh tenets.

old age pensions are the key decisions of the Government.
He said this year would observed as development year and Rs 25 crore would be released to each constituency for inclusive development.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that more than one lakh jobs would be filled in next six months.
He said the Punjab Government has decided to release grants to M Mandals and youth clubs to empower the women and youth in the rural areas.
He announced Rs 150 crore for the sewerage and water supply in Batala city besides the creation of ADC post for the city.
The Deputy Chief Minister also distributed more than Rs 13 crore to 81 villages for development works.
Besides that Rs 12 crore was also announced as grants for the villages.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Congress would be the only opponent of the SAD-BJP in the next assembly elections.
Terming AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal as a “hollow leader”, Badal alleged “he is spending Rs 552 crore on his personal propaganda which is a loot of public finances.

The Cabinet approved the Punjab Plastic Carry Bags (Manufacture, Usage and Disposal), Control (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
An Ordinance issued on February 18, 2016, the state government had prohibited the manufacture, sale and use of plastic carry bags in all Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayats from April 1, 2016.
