Over 400 suspected coal thieves, armed with traditional weapons and allegedly stealing coal from Kapasara colliery near Jharkhand-West Bengal boarder, today charged at CISF patrolling team who fired five rounds in air to thwart their attack,
According to local police, over 400 coal thieves, equipped with traditional weapons, were stealing coal from Eastern Coalfield Ltd’s (ECL) Kapasara colliery.
When a patrolling party of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) challenged them, the coal thieves first pelted stones and later charged at them with lathis, police said, adding that they also damaged the CISF patrolling vehicle.
In the attack, a CISF head constable, Sohan Jha, got injured, following which the CISF personnel fired five rounds in the air but the coal thieves also fired at them.
After receiving information, CISF Assistant Commandant Ravindra Chauhan, Inspector Balbir Singh and local police rushed to the spot with heavy forces for the rescue of patrolling party but the coal thieves had escaped before they reached.
An FIR has been lodged by CISF Assistant Sub Inspector Bablu Paswan, who was leading patrol party, at Galfarbari Outpost of Nirsa under which the colliery area falls.

Beverages major Coca Cola has come under the scanner of the National Green Tribunal which has issued notice to the company after finding “alarming facts” in an inspection report of apex pollution monitoring body.
The green panel has also directed Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCBPL) to submit a drainage map of its plant at Mussoorie Gulawati Road industrial area in Hapur district giving details of sewage and trade effluents generated from the factory.
“We have the reports of inspections conducted by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) on October 19 and July 30, 2015 respectively. Alarming facts as regards the situation obtaining in the factory of Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd are disclosed in the report of CPCB.
The matter is listed for next hearing on January 14, 2016.
The Tribunal was hearing a plea by advocate Sanjay Kumar seeking restraint on the alleged illegal discharge of untreated waste water into the pond situated behind the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd’s plant in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
In his plea, Kumar has also sought restoration of the environment damaged because of it.

Signalling a major shift in granting air traffic rights, the government is looking at restricting the number of landing points for overseas airlines irrespective of their seat entitlements.
The thinking on these lines comes against the backdrop of Gulf carriers cornering a large chunk of international air traffic from India because of having landing rights across a number of airports in the country.
A senior Civil Aviation Ministry official said it was looking at restricting the ports of call given to foreign airlines under bilaterals while remaining flexible on seat entitlements.
Some foreign carriers pitch for more landing points as well as higher number of seats but at times allowing such requests could hurt domestic carriers,
As per sources Govt is planing to create a balance between the interests of passengers and the interests of Indian carriers,” At present, the balance seems to be tilted towards overseas airlines.
.A firm decision on restricting the landing points for overseas airlines is yet to be taken,

[Bangalore,]”Clean Sports” Offers Batting For Suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad
Clean Sports (CSI), a movement for corruption-free sports, today offered its support to cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azad .
Azad has been suspended by the BJP for leading a campaign against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on alleged corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
CSI said in a statement
“Clean Sports India strongly condemns the action of BJP to suspend Kirti Azad who is fighting against corruption in DDCA,”
“CSI is saddened to note the silence of former cricketers on this issue. Most of the former cricketers, except few like Bishan Singh Bedi, are compromised with corrupt cricket management of India,”
CSI called on former Olympians and other sportspersons to support Azad in his “fight against corruption in sports”.
BJP had accused Azad of indulging in anti-party activities and “colluding” with Congress and AAP to bring the party into “disrepute”.
The action of the BJP Parliamentary Board to suspend him from the party’s primary membership with immediate effect came after his press conference attacking Jaitley and subsequent acts of defiance both inside and outside Parliament

[New Delhi]Press Council Issues Notice to Weekly Organiser
The Press Council of India has issued a show-cause notice to Organiser weekly on a complaint alleging that its article related to Kerala showed the state in “poor light”.
The notice was issued to the Organiser weekly, considered close to the RSS, on December 16 and it has been given 14 days time to respond from the date it is served.
The complaint filed by one Nidheesh P, a resident of Delhi and a member of the Kerala Shastra Sahitya Parishad, alleged that the article titled “Kerala; God’s own Country or Godless Country” defamed and demoralised the culture and civilisation of the citizens of Kerala.
It further alleged that the article is false with the intention of creating communal riots in the name of religion and food habits among peacefully living people in the state.
The article had kicked up a furore in the state with parties across the political spectrum condemning it.

भाजपा सांसद एवं पूर्व क्रिकेटर कीर्ति आजाद को पार्टी अध्यक्ष अमित शाह ने वित्त मंत्री अरूण जेटली पर दिल्ली किक्रेट निकाय डीडीसीए में अनियमितताओं के आरोपों को लेकर सार्वजनिक रूप से निशाना साधने और कांग्रेस+आप पार्टी से सांठगाठ के आरोप में आज निलंबित कर दिया।
भाजपा की ओर से जारी एक बयान में कहा गया है,
‘‘दरभंगा से सांसद कीर्ति आजाद को पार्टी विरोधी उनकी गतिविधियों के लिए तत्काल प्रभाव से पार्टी से निलंबित किया जाता है।’’
आजाद ने पार्टी अध्यक्ष की अवहेलना की थी और रविवार को एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन करके दिल्ली एवं जिला क्रिकेट संघ :डीडीसीए: से जुड़े भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों को रेखांकित किया था जिसके जेटली 2013 तक 13 वर्ष के लिए अध्यक्ष रहे थे।
भाजपा सांसद आजाद को भारतीय किक्रेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान बिशन सिंह बेदी और पार्टी से नाराज चल रहे भाजपा सांसद शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा का समर्थन मिला था। आजाद ने उस संवाददाता सम्मेलन के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर खुली चुनौती दी थी और संसद में भी कांग्रेस अध्यक्षता सोनिया गांधी के उकसावे पर जेटली को निशाना बनाया था। इससे पूर्व स्वयं जेटली यह कह चुके हैं के भाजपा के एक सांसद ने उन्हें [जेटली] को फिक्स करने के लिए सोनिया गांधी से मुलाकात की है
यद्यपि आजाद के तेवर में कोई नरमी नहीं आयी थी लेकिन जेटली ने उनके खिलाफ आगे नहीं बढ़ने का निर्णय किया था। जेटली ने हालांकि दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल और आप के पांच अन्य नेताओं के खिलाफ दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय और पटियाला हाउस अदालत में दीवानी और आपराधिक मानहानि के मामले दायर किये हैं।
भाजपा जेटली के पीछे मजबूती से खड़ी है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भी कहा कि वह बेदाग होकर सामने आएंगे। अमित शाह ने भी यह कहकर उनका समर्थन किया कि पार्टी उनके साथ एकजुट है।
