(New Delhi) Holy City Amritsar Included in Greenfield Expressway :Bharatmala Pariyojana
Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSMEs Nitin Gadkari today announced the development of a new Greenfield connectivity to Amritsar City from Nakodar via Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib as part of Delhi-Amritsar Expressway. He said, the road from Amritsar to Gurdaspur would also be fully developed and made completely signal free. With this, traffic would have option to travel to Gurdaspur onwards from Nakodar, i.e. via Amritsar or via Kartarpur. The Minister said, this greenfield alignment will not only provide shortest and alternate express connectivity to Amritsar city but also to other religious centres of Sultanpur Lodhi, Goindwal Sahib, Khadoor Sahib as well as the recently developed Dera Baba Nanak/Kartarpur Sahib International Corridor in Punjab.
Gadkari informed that with this expressway, travel time from Amritsar to Delhi International airport would reduce to about four hours from the present about eight hours. He said, this would fulfil one of long standing demands of the people of Punjab. The first phase of expressway would involve investment of about Rs 25,000 crore.
Ministry of Road Transport & Highways have taken up development of Delhi Amritsar Katra Expressway under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The alignment of expressway was firmed up in January 2019 and process of land acquisition was initiated. Recently, the issue of alignment of Expressway to Amritsar has been taken up by the Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and the Minister of State (I/C) Civil Aviation, Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri with the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari. The issue was also raised by Shwait Malik, MP (Rajya Sabha), Gurjit Singh Aujla, MP (Lok Sabha), Govt. of Punjab, Sikh organisations and other public representatives.
It is reiterated that Amritsar city was always an integral part of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. From beginning Expressway was proposed as combination of Greenfield and Brownfield alignment in two phases.
Gadkari also requested Govt. of Punjab to provide requisite support to NHAI to expedite Land acquisition for proposed expressway in the State of Punjab.

The Kartarpur Corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district up to the International Border will cost Rs 85-Rs 100 crore,
The corridor will facilitate easy passage to the Sikh pilgrims to the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan’s Kartarpur.
Gurdwara Darbar Sahib is located on the banks of the Ravi river in Pakistan, where Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, had spent 18 years of his life.
The corridor will be built by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Punjab Public Works Department Minister Vijay Inder Singla said, “A sum of Rs 85 crore to 100 crore is estimated to be spent on constructing the Kartarpur Corridor”.

The National Highways Authority of India has decided to deploy all women toll collecting staff in day shift on at least one toll plaza close to the city area, in every state and UT of the country on 8th March 2018, International Women’s Day. If this initiative is successful, then it will be implemented across all toll plazas under operation by NHAI within the next 3 months.

भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण ने 192 टोल प्लाजा में शौचालय सुविधा दी है और शेष 180 टोल प्लाजा को मार्च 2019 तक कवर किया जाएगा। भारत सरकार के अग्रणी कार्यक्रम स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के अंतर्गत भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण अपने 372 टोल प्लाजाओं में सड़क के दोनों ओर अलग-अलग महिला और पुरुष शौचालय उपलब्ध करा रहा है और इन स्थानों पर गंदगी दूर करने के लिए कचड़े के डब्बों और होर्डिंगों पर स्वच्छता संदेश लगा रहा है।

भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण (एनएचएआई) का कर मुक्त, सुरक्षित बनाने योग्य, गैर परिवर्तनीय बॉन्ड आज से जारी किया जाएगा। एक हजार रूपये प्रत्येक कोअंकित मूल्य वाले बॉन्ड के द्वारा कुल 2698.40 करोड़ रूपये जुटाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है, जिसको बढ़ाकर 3698.40 करोड़ रूपये तक किया जा सकता है। प्रस्तावित बॉन्ड को क्रिसिल द्वारा क्रिसिल एएए/स्टेबल, केयर द्वारा केयर ‘एएए’ और ब्रिक वर्ग द्वारा ‘बीडब्ल्यूआर एएए’के साथ स्टेबल आऊटलुक रेटिंग दी गई है। इश्यू 15 जनवरी को खुलेगा और 05फरवरी, 2014 को बंद होगा। इसके साथ ही इसको जल्द बंद करने का विकल्प भी है। बॉन्ड को बॉम्बे स्टॉक एक्सचेंज औरनेशनल स्टॉक एक्सचेंज में सूचीबद्ध किया जाएगा।
बॉन्ड दो विभिन्न अवधियों 10 और 15 वर्ष के लिए उपलब्ध होगा। 10 वर्ष और 15 वर्ष की अवधि के लिए 10 लाख तक की सीमा तक निवेश करने वाले व्यक्तिगत और एचयूएफ निवेशकों को 8.52% और 8.57%की दर से ब्याज दिया जाएगा। अन्य सभी निवेशकों को क्रमश: 8.27%और 8.50% ब्याज दिया जाएगा।
