The Department of Personnel and Training have been impressing upon the public authorities to disclose maximum information proactively, so that public at large need not file RTI applications to seek information held by the public authorities.
Some of the stakeholders have objected to disclosure of personal information as it would put the lives of the information seekers at risk.
Based on directions from High Court of Kolkata in the matter of Shri Avishek Goenka Vs UOI and in the interest of stakeholders, Govt Has Invited Comments From Stakeholders

[New Delhi] Scheduled Caste Status For Converted Christian Is Subjdice But Scheduled Tribes has Exception
An individual belonging to Scheduled Tribes may profess any religion and the Castes/ Tribes included in the list of Scheduled Tribes under Article 342 of the Constitution, are entitled for getting the benefits of reservation in services of the Central Government.
The Scheduled Castes converted to Christianity are included in the Central List of Other Backward Classes of some of the States and are entitled to the benefit of the reservation in services of the Central Government. However, the issue of extension of Scheduled Caste status to Scheduled Caste converts to Christianity is presently subjudice in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh in written reply to a question by Smt. Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh in the Lok Sabha today

were administered the oath of office of the Information Commissioners, Central Information Commission (CIC) by the Chief Information Commissioner, Shri Radha Krishna Mathur.
With This total number of Information Commissioners including the Chief Information Commissioner has gone upto 11 in the Central Information Commission.
Shri Bimal Julka, a former IAS officer, before joining the office of Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission, was holding the post of Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in Government of India. His area of eminence includes Administration and Governance.
Shri Divya Prakash Sinha, a former IPS officer, before joining the office of Information Commissioner in Central Information Commission, was holding the charge of Secretary (Security) in the Government of India. His area of eminence includes experience in security.
Shri Amitava Bhattacharyya, a former IAS officer, before joining the office of Information Commissioner in Central Information Commission, was holding the charge of Chairman, Staff Selection Commission. His area of eminence includes Administration and Governanc

(iv)Shri A.K.Poddar, IPoS(1987),Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in CONCOR New Delhi under the Ministry of Railways for a period of two years beyond 23.05.2016 i.e. upto 23.05.2018 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
