all posted at the Customs’ Inland Container Depot, Tughlakabad, during a trap operation, when they were allegedly receiving the first installment of Rs four lakh of a Rs-10 lakh bribe demanded by them, the officials said.
Siddarth Sharma of the Sonepat-based Adsun Electronics Private Limited had alleged that the accused officials had demanded a bribe of Rs 15 lakh for clearing a consignment of open cells (television screens) imported by his company and an additional amount of Rs 50,000 for every container cleared in the last four months.

The CBI took Anil Mor into custody while allegedly receiving an installment of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant against whom a complaint was made at the DSP Zikarpur office
Mor had handed over the bribe to another person Dilbag Singh who was accompanying him. Singh has also been arrested.

This is the first trap operation in Kashmir valley since the erstwhile state was bifurcated into union territories in 2019, while the agency has carried out four such operations in Jammu division.
Mohammad Afzal, a patwari in Bemina of Budgam district, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 35,000 from a complainant to mutate a piece of land in the name of his brother.
After negotiations, the bribe amount was reduced to Rs 23,000 of which Afzal had already received Rs 10,000, the CBI alleged in the FIR.

The CBI has booked a retired IAS officer Satyendra Singh, for alleged corruption in giving leases to facilitate illegal mining of minor minerals in Kaushambi when he was posted as a district magistrate during 2012-14, officials said Tuesday.
Searches at nine locations, including the residential premises of accused led to recovery of documents of 44 properties worth tens of crore in the name of the officer and relatives in Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad and New Delhi.
As per CBI spokesperson RC Joshi ,”During searches at the premises of then district magistrate, cash of Rs 10 lakh (approx); documents relating to around 44 immovable properties; fixed deposits worth Rs 51 lakh (approx); around 36 bank accounts, in the name of said public servant and his family members at Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, New Delhi and keys of six lockers were found. Gold and silver jewellery of Rs 2.11 crore(approx) and old currency of Rs one lakh (approx) were also found in the lockers,”
The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested an IPS officer Manish Agarwal on corruption charges in Jaipur on Tuesday
A 2010-batch IPS officer, Agarwal is currently posted as the commandant of the State Disaster Response Force, Jaipur. He held the charge of the Dausa SP at the time of the alleged incident.
He has been involved in controversies in the past due to different reasons.
Agrawal, who is from Uttar Pradesh, was an IPS officer of the J-K cadre before his transfer to Rajasthan in 2014 on the ground of marriage with an IPS officer of state cadre.

Kapoor’s arrest at the ED office in Ballard Estate followed over 20 hours of questioning by the central agency after it raided his residence on Friday night.
The arrest comes after charges of alleged financial irregularities and mismanagement in the operations of the private bank surfaced and the RBI and Union government initiated action to control its affairs.
The case against Kapoor is linked to the scam-hit DHFL as the loans lent by the bank to the company allegedly turned NPAs, they said.
A Rs 600 crore worth loan extended by the DHFL to an entity is also at the centre of the ED probe, officials said.
The CBI has recently taken over investigation into the Rs 2,267-crore Employees’ Provident Fund fraud in Uttar Pradesh, where hard-earned savings of power sector employees were invested in Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL).
As per the RBI’s draft reconstruction scheme, State Bank of India will pick up 49 per cent stake in the crisis-ridden Yes Bank under a government-approved bailout plan.

केंद्रीय जांच एजेंसी (सीबीआई) में उसकी स्वीकृत संख्या की तुलना में 1,029 पद रिक्त हैं।
राज्य मंत्री डॉ जितेन्द्र सिंह ने राज्यसभा को एक प्रश्न के लिखित उत्तर में यह जानकारी दी।
उन्होंने आंकड़ों का हवाला देते हुए बताया कि 31 अक्टूबर 2019 की स्थिति के अनुसार, सीबीआई में विभिन्न रैंक में कुल स्वीकृत पदों की संख्या 5,532 है जिनमें से 4,503 पद भरे हुए हैं
सिंह ने बताया कि इन पदों को भरने के लिए सीबीआई कदम उठा रही है।
जांच एजेंसी में कार्यपालक रैंक के स्वीकृत पदों की संख्या 5000 है जिनमें से 860 पद रिक्त हैं। विधि अधिकारी के 370 स्वीकृत पदों में से 74 पद रिक्त हैं तथा
तकनीकी अधिकारी के स्वीकृत 162 पदों में से 95 पद रिक्त हैं।

The CBI on Saturday booked former deputy commissioner of Bengaluru urban district B M Vijay Shankar, then assistant commissioner L C Nagaraj and a village accountant in connection with the I-Monetary Advisory (IMA) ponzi scam.
The charges against Shankar and Nagaraj are that they allegedly accepted illegal gratification from the directors of IMA Group of Companies through the village accountant Manjunath, who acted as a mediator for the transaction, the investigating agency said in a statement.
The multi-crore ponzi scheme run by Karnataka-based IMA and its group entities allegedly duped lakhs of people promising higher returns using Islamic ways of investment.
The CBI had registered a case on August 30 against Mohammed Mansoor Khan, managing director of the company, and others pursuant to the notifications issued by the Karnataka government and the government of India

The proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned on Monday morning amid protests by Trinamool Congress members over alleged “misuse” of the CBI by the central government.
As soon as Lok Sabha paid obituaries to former members who had died in the recent past, members of the TMC raised the issue, saying they have given notice for an adjournment motion to discuss the issue.
When Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said they can raise the issue after Question Hour, TMC members rushed to the Well of the House and started raising slogans against the BJP.
Members of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) were also in the Well supporting the TMC.
Later, Congress members entered the Well holding placards about the Rafale jet deal and unemployment figures
The Speaker continued with the Question Hour for 15 minutes and later adjourned the House till noon.

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee has begun a sit-in protest in Kolkata over the CBI’s attempt to question the Kolkata Police chief in connection with chit fund scams.
The chief minister skipped meals and remained awake the entire night on a makeshift dais here along with some senior ministers and party members.
In an unprecedented development Sunday evening, Banerjee sat on a dharna, protesting CBI’s attempt to quiz Kolkata Police chief Rajeev Kumar in connection with chit fund scams.
A CBI team, which went to Kumar’s residence in the city’s Loudon Street area, was denied permission, bundled into police jeeps and was whisked to a police station.
The CBI wants to quiz Kumar, who led a Special Investigation Team of West Bengal Police probing the scams, regarding missing documents and files.
Several political leaders, including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and RJD national president Lalu Prasad, came out in support of Banerjee.
