President Barack Obama To Provide Bang For Students Buck
In week’s address, the President announced the launch of a new College Scorecard, meant to help students and parents identify which schools provide the biggest bang for their buck.
Designed with input from those who will use it most, the Scorecard offers reliable data on factors important to prospective students, such as how much graduates earn, and how much debt they have when they graduate. In an economy where some higher education is still the surest ticket to the middle class, the choices that Americans make when searching for and selecting a college have never been more important. That’s why reliable information will be provided to help students to find the college that best fits their needs so that they can succeed.

President Obama Presents Report Card On Dream Of Education

[Washington DC]President Obama Presents Report Card On Dream Of Education
Just five years before we moved into the White House, Michelle and I were still paying off our student loans.
President Barack Obama Reiterated That College is one of the most important investments students can make in their future. It’s also one of the most important investments our country can make in our workforce — as every one of us is acutely aware, equipping Americans with the knowledge and skills they need to compete and win in our global economy will continue to be the key to our resurgence.
President said
“That’s why we’re continuing to work to make the dream of college real for more of America’s students”
Showing his report card, Obama said,
” And we’re making progress.
We’ve increased investments in college scholarships like
Pell Grants and the
American Opportunity Tax Credit.
We’re making student loans more affordable by
cutting interest rates and capping payments at 10 percent of income.
We’re promoting competition and innovation to bring costs down for students and their families.
He Promised that senior officials from across the Administration will be hitting the road to discuss plans to create more affordable, quality choices for students — such as community colleges and apprenticeships — and to give students the time and information they need to make good choices.
Obama Declared
“Tomorrow, I’ll travel with my favorite community college instructor — Dr. Jill Biden — to Macomb County Community College, where I first laid out my community college plan six years ago. While in Michigan, I’ll make an announcement about apprenticeships, a crucial tool we’re using to rebuild an American workforce that is the envy of the world. And I’ll talk about the progress around the country in making community college free, and what more we need to do to make it available for more students.
He informed that
“Next Monday, I’ll meet up with Secretary Duncan — who will be traveling the country in a bus all week long — at a high school in Des Moines, Iowa where I’m looking forward to having a conversation with juniors and seniors gearing up for college as well as with their parents who, in many cases, are trying to figure out how to pay for it. And on Thursday, September 17th, as part of her Reach Higher initiative, Michelle will head to a local community college to check out their career and technical programs”.

President Obama Asked Congress to Pass a Budget To Honor Working People:Labor Day

[Washington DC]President Obama Asked Congress to Pass a Budget To Honor Working People:Labor Day US ,To Honor Working People, Observes Labor Day On 1st Monday Of September Which Is National Holiday
In his Weekend Address President Barack Obama Slashed Opposition Congress
President, Recognizing Importance of Labor Movement ,said
“The eight-hour workday+40-hour workweek+weekends+ Overtime+ minimum wage+Safer workplaces+Health insurance+Social Security+Medicare+Retirement plans.
All These gains were fought for and won by the labor movement – folks who were working not just for a bigger paycheck for themselves, but for more security and prosperity for the folks working next to them as well. That’s how we built the great American middle class”
President,Showing his progress card ,said
“On Friday, we found out that the economy created another 173,000 jobs in August. Over the past five and a half years, our businesses have created 13.1 million new jobs in total – the longest streak of job creation on record. The unemployment rate dropped to 5.1%, the lowest it’s been in seven years. The American auto industry is on track to sell more cars and trucks this year than it has in more than a decade. Sixteen million Americans have gained the security of health insurance. Seventeen states and about 30 cities and counties have raised the minimum wage. And we’ve proposed extending overtime protections to as many as five million Americans. All of that is progress”.
Criticizing Uncooperative Congress President Obama Talked On Budget also.
He said This month, Congress has an opportunity to continue that progress. As always, the deadline for Congress to pass a budget is the end of September. Every year. This is not new. And if they don’t, they’ll shut down the government for the second time in two years.
At a time when the global economy faces headwinds and America’s economy is a relative bright spot in the world, a shutdown of our government would be wildly irresponsible. It would be an unforced error that saps the momentum we’ve worked so hard to build. Plain and simple, a shutdown would hurt working Americans.
It doesn’t have to happen. If Congress wants to support working Americans and strengthen our middle class, they can pass a budget that invests in, not makes cuts to, the middle class. If they pass a budget with shortsighted sequester cuts that harm our military and our economy, I’ll veto it. If they make smart investments in our military readiness, our infrastructure, our schools, public health, and research, I’ll sign that budget – and they know that.
So let’s get it done. Our economy doesn’t need another round of threats and brinksmanship. Nobody gets to play games with our economy – or the middle class I grew up in, and that you grew up in. So tell Congress to pass a budget that reflects the values we honor on Labor Day. Rewarding hard work. Giving everybody a fair shot. And working together to give all of our kids a better life. Thanks everybody. And enjoy your weekend

President Obama Highlights Importance Of Undeniable Importance Of Good Teacher

[Washington DC]President Obama Highlights Importance Of Undeniable Importance Of Good Teacher
President Obama,Highlighting the importance of having good teachers,Remembers undeniable power of a good teacher.President talked about the lasting influence of Ms. Hefty, his fifth-grade teacher, and Invited education stories.
President Remember His School Teacher Ms Mabel Heffy
“I credit my education to Ms. Mabel Hefty just as much as I would any institution of higher learning.
When I entered Ms. Hefty’s fifth-grade class at Punahou School in the fall of 1971, I was just a kid with a funny name in a new school, feeling a little out of place, hoping to fit in like anyone else.
The first time she called on me, I wished she hadn’t. In fact, I wished I were just about anywhere else but at that desk, in that room of children staring at me.
But over the course of that year, Ms. Hefty taught me that I had something to say — not in spite of my differences, but because of them. She made every single student in that class feel special.
And she reinforced that essential value of empathy that my mother and my grandparents had taught me. That is something that I carry with me every day as President”.
President says “This is the simple and undeniable power of a good teacher. This is a story that every single kid in USA , regardless of background or station in life, should be able to tell. Sharing stories like these helps underline the vital importance of fighting for that reality”.
