(Chd,Pb) COVID-19: 20 More Deaths,491 New Cases in PunjabTwenty more COVID-19 deaths in Punjab pushed the toll to 4,358 while 491 new cases took the infection tally to 1,38,485 on Tuesday.
There are 5,038 active COVID-19 cases in the state as of now, according to the bulletin.
The places which reported new coronavirus cases included
Jalandhar (76),
SAS Nagar (75) and
Ludhiana (74).
Fifteen critical patients are on ventilator support while 134 are on oxygen support

Nineteen more fatalities linked to COVID-19 in Punjab pushed the death toll from the disease to 4,187 while 433 new cases raised the infection tally to 1,33,158 on Friday,

Two deaths each were reported from Ferozepur, Barnala, Bathinda, Ludhiana, SBS Nagar and Patiala and
one each from Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Pathankot and Rupnagar, the bulletin said.
The places which reported fresh coronavirus cases included
Jalandhar (65),
Ludhiana (65) and
Mohali (49).
Nineteen critical patients are on ventilator support while 95 are on oxygen support, the bulletin said.
A total of 25,82,787 samples have been collected for COVID-19 testing in Punjab, it said.

The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday gave its nod to grant three months Extension/Re-employment to Doctors and Medical Specialists w.e.f. October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, in view of the Covid crisis.
The decision comes amid continued escalation in Covid cases in Punjab, which currently accounts for more than 1.25 lakh of India’s nearly 72 lakh cases, with infections and deaths continuing to rise on a daily basis.
The Cabinet also approved amendments to the Punjab Health and Family Welfare Technical (Group-C) Service Rules, 2016, for reduction in the prescribed promotional quota, from 25% percent to 10% for the post of Staff Nurse, and in the sanctioned permanent 4216 posts of Staff Nurse to 3577. This will help provide employment opportunities to eligible candidates through direct recruitment against the vacant posts of Staff Nurse and 639 posts surrendered to the Department of Research and Medical Education.
The Cabinet also okayed amendments in these Rules for the post of Dialysis Technician of the Health and Family Welfare Department by including the technically qualified candidates who have passed B.Sc. (Dialysis Technician), in addition to the current educational qualification prescribed for direct recruitmen

(New Delhi) India Has Lost One Lakh Indians To COVID-19
Infection tally has climbed to 64,73,544, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease crossed 54 lakh pushing the recovery rate to 83.84 %
The total coronavirus cases mounted to 64,73,544 with 79,476 new infections being reported in a day, while the death toll climbed to 1,00,842 with the virus claiming 1,069 lives in a span of 24 hours, data updated at 8 am showed.
The total recoveries have surged to 54,27,706, while there are 9,44,996 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 14.60 per cent of the total caseload, the data showed.
The COVID-19 case fatality rate was recorded at 1.56 %
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past 50 lakh on September 16 and crossed 60 lakh on September 28.

“Yoga Break” protocol of the Ministry of AYUSH, were suspended after the onset of the Covid-19 protocol,
Ministry of AYUSH in association with MDNIY developed 5 minutes yoga break protocol to de-stress, refresh and re-focus the workers at the work place in 2019. The protocol which was developed by a group of eminent Yoga experts contains a few stretching Yoga practices including Tadasana, Kati Chakrasana, etc. and Nadisodhana Bhramari Pranayama and Dhyana. The protocol was initially launched on trial basis in January 2020 and was found to be effective, based on an analysis of feedback of participants.

Manish Sisodia Hospitalised in LNJP Due to COVID-19

(New Delhi) Deputy CM Sisodia hospitalised due to COVID-19
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was admitted to the ICU of the Delhi government-run LNJP Hospital on Wednesday due to coronavirus infection, and his condition is stable
The 48-year-old Aam Aadmi Party leader was admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital at around 4 PM after he complained of fever and low oxygen level, an official said, adding that he is under observation.
According to officials, Sisodia is being kept in the Intensive Care Unit as a precautionary measure and is on oxygen support.
Sisodia had tested positive for the infection on September 14 and was in home isolation.
He was unable to attend the one-day assembly session on September 14 since he had tested positive.
Sisodia is the second Cabinet minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government to get COVID-19 infection after Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

Punjab Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan on Saturday asked Oxygen manufacturers in the state to ramp up production, while directing the concerned government departments to ensure 24X7 power availability and adequate supply of empty cylinders to ensure uninterrupted and seamless manufacturing.
At a Video Conference (VC) with the state’s Oxygen manufacturers working closely with the government to save lives, Vini assured of full support from the government to address their concerns

(Chd,Pb) Thirteen Deaths Reported from Ludhiana
Punjab reported the sharpest single-day spike of 1,946 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, pushing the COVID-19 tally to 63,473 in the state.
The previous record of new cases reported in a day was 1,746 on August 27.
Fifty-four more COVID-19 deaths took the toll to 1,862 in the state, according to a government medical bulletin.
Thirteen deaths were reported from Ludhiana, eight from Patiala, six from Kapurthala, five from Amritsar, three each from Faridkot, Moga, Jalandhar and Bathinda, two from Pathankot, Muktsar and Hoshiarpur and one each from Barnala, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran, it said.
Among places which reported new cases included Jalandhar (261), Pathankot (205), Gurdaspur (186), Bathinda (168), Ludhiana (161), Mohali (154), Patiala (150), Hoshiarpur (135), Amritsar (133) and Faridkot (88).
Punjab has been seeing a surge in the number of coronavirus cases and adding over 1,000 coronavirus cases every day for a few days.
There are 16,156 active Covid-19 cases in the state, as of now, according to the bulletin.
Seventy one critical patients are on ventilator support while 571 are on oxygen support
A total of 11,93,260 samples have been collected for testing so far in the state
