Kejriwal&Majithia Lashes Out Each other On Punjab

[ChandigarhTarn Tarn,Majitha] Kejriwal&Majithia Attacks Each other On Punjab
AAP Ensures Punjab drug and corruption free whereas Bikram Singh Majithia Dares Kejriwal To Contest From Punjab
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal today promised to make Punjab free of drug and corruption if his party is elected to power in the state Assembly election early next year.
Kejriwal said that they will implement strategies to bring the state back on track and AAP will stop illegal mining, cable and transport mafia “thriving” under the “political patronage”.
He also said that if elected AAP government will also ensure severe punishment for the perpetrators involved in the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib so that nobody can even think of repeating it in the future.
Kejriwal said that this border district has been ignored by the Akalis and the Congress since its formation but AAP will revive the industrial hub at Goindwal Sahib and Sheron sugarmill which will provide employment opportunities to the youth of this area.
Parkash Singh Badal government has failed to identify and punish the accused involved in the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib,
Lashing out at Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Badals and Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh, Kejriwal said that all of them have a secret agreement on saving each other’s misdeeds.
He claimed that Badals have closed the corruption cases against Amarinder while the latter had approached Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi to bail out Majithia from a CBI enquiry during the Congress regime at the Centre.
Had Amarinder not interfered, Majithia would have been behind the bars in multi-crore drug case, he said.
“But Aam Aadmi Party will put Bikram to jail and punish him for ruining the youth of Punjab by spreading drug trade,” he said.
Kejriwal said that God gave them a chance to serve the people of Delhi and within a short period of over one year, the health and education sectors have seen development at par with the private institutions.
Majithia dares Kejriwal to contest from his constituency
Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today challenged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to fight the upcoming Assembly elections from his home turf of Majitha constituency.
“Instead of making someone a scapegoat, let Kejriwal fight from the constituency (Majitha),” the Minister told mediapersons after inaugurating a rural skill centre at Athwal village
Majithia said that that the AAP chief “day dreaming of gaining power in Punjab with fake promises as he made in Delhi”.
“Kejriwal is now exposed on various fronts for his lies and promising moon to the people. Kejriwal has made life of Delhi people miserable as his performance as Delhi chief minister is a big disaster,” he claimed.
“Kejriwal’s anti-Punjab stance has been exposed on the SYL and other significant interstate issues where he took stand against Punjab and back stabbed the people of Punjab,” he added.
The Punjab minister alleged that AAP was formed on the basis of ethics and principles but the party “has adopted all unethical means in ticket allotment (for Punjab polls) even ignoring their own volunteers”.
Minister Majithia has also tweeted attack On Arvind Kejriwal
Punjab Minister said
Arvind Kejriwal will now go to jail for sure. After this defeat in the court of law, I want to defeat him in the court of the people too
I can assert with humility that I have got charges framed against Crooked Kejriwal in the court of law despite his attempts to run away./6

He is keen to promote the culture of the state before the delegates from different countries and one centre of attraction is the Heritage Street running from Town Hall building to the Golden Temple Plaza.
The one kilometre stretch of Heritage Street begins at the old Town Hall building, which now houses the Partition Museum, goes towards Jallianwala Bagh and up to the Golden Temple.
Bright lamp posts, buildings with Rajputana and Mughal architectural domes and jharokhas, LED lights illuminate the facades. The signboards for all shops have been aesthetically unified like the markets of Jaipur.
“The heritage street project was completed in a record time. This is not the end of the project. It is just a beginning of the total beautification and transformation which the holy city would witness during the course of next five years,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.
The Punjab Tourism and Heritage Promotion Board had announced a competition for architects to revamp the Golden plaza three years ago. The area was then developed as an urban space where pilgrims could congregate.

Pb Assembly,Without Cong,Moves Resolution Against SYL Construction

[Chandigarh,Punjab]Punjab Govt Moves Resolution Against Construction of SYL
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today moved a resolution in Punjab Assembly against the construction of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal
Opposition Congress members kepT away from the House.
Badal moved a resolution saying in the interest of the people of Punjab, the House unanimously directs the state government, Cabinet and all government officials not to hand over the state’s land for the construction of SYL canal and neither allow anybody to work on it, nor to cooperate for the purpose.
The resolution was moved amidst empty opposition benches
All 42 Congress MLAs had resigned from the state Assembly after the apex court’s decision on Thursday.
A special session of the state Assembly was convened after the Supreme Court held as “unconstitutional” the 2004 law passed by the Punjab government to terminate the SYL canal water sharing agreement with neighbouring states.
Yesterday, upping the ante against the construction of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, Punjab Cabinet announced that it will denotify the land acquired for the project and return it to the “original owners” at no cost

Cong Punjabi Captain Amarinder Erects For War On SYL’s Water Drops

[Abohar,CHD,Pb] Cong Punjabi Captain Amarinder Erects For War On SYL’s Water Drops
Hitting out at the Badal government over the Supreme Court’s ruling on the SYL issue, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh today vowed to protect the last drop of the state’s water.
Addressing a rally at Khuian Sarwar village near Abohar, the tail-end of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal, he asked SAD MLAs to quit the Assembly and said the state polls should be held next month itself to prevent Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal from further “vitiating” the atmosphere of the state.
He vowed to protect the “last drop” of Punjab’s water, and declared “not a drop will be spared” till their “last breath”.
On the Chief Minister’s assertion that he (Badal) is ready to face the bullet in order to protect Punjab’s water, Amarinder alleged that in 1984, Badal had made such claims but when the time came to fight for the state he went into hiding, leaving the people to fend for themselves.
He also alleged that the Chief Minister has “destroyed” the state out of “sheer personal greed” and cannot be allowed to remain in power.
Asserting that implementation of the SYL verdict will “finish off” the
2 lakh families and
2 lakh agricultural labourers who
farm 10 lakh acres of land in the state,
Amarinder alleged that SAD had 10 years to battle the case in the court effectively but failed to do anything.
“They (SAD) were only interested in creation of Punjabi Suba in order to rule a Sikh-dominated region for their vested interests,” he alleged.
“Why did Badal not tell the court that Punjab had no water to spare, with all the glaciers having melted,” the state Congress chief asked and reiterated his demand for the establishment of a new tribunal to assess the quantum of water available with the state.
Referring to the controversial Clause 5 of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act, Amarinder alleged Badal is misleading the state on the issue by making fraudulent claims on scrapping it.
He accused Badal of playing with the sentiments of the people and alleged that removal of the clause would not be acceptable to the BJP-led Central government, of which SAD is a part.
Political temperatures have risen in Punjab after the Supreme Court held as “unconstitutional” the 2004 law passed by Punjab to terminate the SYL canal water sharing agreement with Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Chandigarh.

Pb Cong Resigns&Haryanavi Khattar Welcomes SC Verdict On SYL

[Chandigarh] Capt Amarinder Opposes+Resigns & Khattar Welcomes SC Verdict On SYL Link Canal
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh today resigned from his Lok Sabha seat while his party MLAs resigned en-masse from the state assembly, n protest against the Court Verdict On SYL Link Canal
Amarinder, who is also former Punjab Chief Minister, has sent his resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker, copy of which was released to the media here, and has also sought a personal meeting with the Speaker next week.
The party MLAs have also sent their resignations to the Speaker, Punjab Assembly, and will meet him tomorrow morning to personally hand over their papers.
Punjab goes to polls early next year.
The Supreme Court held as unconstitutional the 2004 law passed by Punjab to terminate the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal water sharing agreement with neighbouring states.
Amarinder said Badal and his team had “failed” to defend Punjab s stand in the court, leading to such disastrous consequences for the state.
On the other hand Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar welcomes SC verdict on SYL canal issue
Haryana Chief Minister Khattar welcomed Supreme Court’s decision today to hold as “unconstitutional” the 2004 law passed by Punjab to terminate the SYL canal water sharing agreement with neighbouring states.
“I welcome the Supreme Court verdict. It is natural justice,” he told reporters here.
In its judgement the apex court made it clear that the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act, 2004, was “unconstitutional” and Punjab could not have taken an “unilateral” decision to terminate the water sharing agreement with Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Chandigarh.
“The Supreme Court has given its decision on this vital issue after 12 years and it is a result of the persistent efforts made by the present state government,” he claimed.
This judgement has brought smile on the face of every Haryanvi because the state would get its legitimate share of surplus water of 3.5 million acre feet (MAF) from the Ravi-Beas River,
The Haryana Assembly had recently unanimously passed a resolution condemning Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s statement that Punjab and its residents will not accept any verdict against the state’s interest on river waters.
On November 1, in his ‘Punjabi Suba’ address, Badal had said the state was ever ready to make any sacrifice to safeguard its legitimate share of river waters.

Kejriwal Seeks Centre’s Help Against Pollution Menace

[New Delhi] Kejriwal Seeks Centre’s Help To Tackle Pollution Menace
Pollution level breached the safe limit by over 17 times at places, prompting Chief Minister Arvind Kerjriwal to describe Delhi as a “gas chamber” and seek the Centre’s intervention.
Kejriwal appealed to people to minimise the use of private vehicles in view of the situation and switch to public transportation facilities.
The extent of pollution surpassed even the post-Diwali levels, while smog brought down visibility to around 200 metres across the city. Monitoring agencies recorded ‘severe’ quality air and advised people to avoid going outdoors.
Kejriwal told a press conference that the smog was mainly a product of raging farm fires in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana. Later, he raised the issue with Union Environment Minister Anil Dave in a meeting at the latter’s residence.
While the 24-hour average of respirable pollutants PM 2.5 and PM 10 was 355 and 482 micrograms per cubic metre respectively, real-time figures were alarmingly high.
Anand Vihar, for instance, recorded PM 10 level at 1,711 micrograms per cubic metre at 2 PM — around 17 times above the safe limit.
The safe limits of these ultrafine particles are 60 and 100 respectively.
Even the level of gaseous pollutants like NO2 violated the prescribed standards for human inhalation as per real-time readings.
Lt Governor Najeeb Jung has also called for a high-level meeting on Monday to take stock of the immediate, short-term and long term measures, in which he invited Kejriwal, health minister Satyendar Jain, environment minister Imran Hussain, the Delhi Chief Secretary, and representatives of Police and the civic bodies.
Kejriwal said vehicle restriction measures like ‘odd-even’ scheme will not be able to bring down the smog as initial studies suggest that the “large-scale” influx of pollutant-laden smoke from Punjab and Haryana has aggravated the situation.
He said the Delhi government has very few methods at its disposal and the Centre needs to intervene.
