दिल्ली पुलिस प्रमुख बीएस बस्सी को केंद्रीय सूचना आयोग में सूचना आयुक्त के पद के लिए दावेदारों की सूची से आज बाहर कर दिया गया।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता वाली चयन समिति ने आज इस पद के लिए तीन नामों को मंजूरी दी। जेएनयू विवाद से सही तरीके से नहीं निपटने को लेकर बस्सी पत्रकारों के एक वर्ग के साथ साथ “आप” पार्टी और कांग्रेस के भी निशाने पर हैं।
सूत्रों के अनुसार बस्सी का नाम हटाने का फैसला विपक्षी पार्टियों और समाज के कार्यकर्ताओं की ओर से बढ़ते दबाव के बीच किया गया।
जेएनयू के छात्र नेता कन्हैया कुमार के मामले की पटियाला हाउस अदालत परिसर के भीतर सुनवाई के दौरान घटी हिंसा के दौरान दिल्ली पुलिस पर निष्क्रिय का आरोप लगायागया है|
केंद्रीय सूचना आयोग में रिक्तियों को भरने के लिए दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय द्वारा निर्धारित की गई छह सप्ताह की समय-सीमा को मानते हुए समिति की आज सुबह बैठक हुई जिसमें विभिन्न नामों पर चर्चा की गई।
