[New delhi]Veteran Cine Star Shashi Kapoor Declared 46th Recipient Of Prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award He is Second In The Family To Receive This Award . Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Arun Jaitley has conveyed his congratulations on the occasion.
Veteran Film Actor and Producer Shri Shashi Kapoor has been conferred Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2014.
He is the 46th Winner Of Dada Saheb Phalke Award
The award is conferred by the Government of India for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian Cinema. The award consists of a Swarn Kamal (Golden Lotus)+a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs+shawl.
The award is given on the basis of recommendations of a Committee of eminent persons set up by the Government for this purpose. This year, a five member jury consisting of eminent film personalities, after due deliberations, unanimously recommended Shri Kapoor for the prestigious award.
Born in 1938, Shashi Kapoor is a well-known actor and producer from the famous Kapoor family, a film dynasty in Bollywood cinema. Shri Shashi Kapoor is the second person to receive the prestigious award from the same family after Late Shri Raj Kapoor.
Shashi Kapoor is the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. From the age of four, Shashi Kapoor acted in plays directed and produced by his father Prithviraj Kapoor, while travelling with Prithvi Theatres. He started acting in films as a child in the late 1940s.
His best known performances as child artist were in Aag (1948) and Awaara (1951), where he played the younger version of the character played by his elder brother Raj Kapoor.
Shri Shashi Kapoor also worked as Assistant Director in the 1950s.
Shashi Kapoor made his debut as a leading man in the 1961 film Dharmputra and went on to appear in more than 100 Hindi films. He was a very popular actor in Bollywood during the 60s, 70s and until the mid 80s.
Shashi Kapoor was one of India’s first actors to go international. He is known internationally for starring in many British and American films, notably Merchant Ivory Proudctions run by Ismail Merchant and James Ivory, such as The Householder (1963), Shakespeare Wallah (1965), Bombay Talkie (1970) and Heat and Dust (1982). He also starred in other British and American films such as Siddhartha (1972) and Muhafiz (1994).
In 1978, Shri Shashi Kapoor set up his production house Film Valas which produced critically acclaimed films such as Junoon (1978), Kalyug (1981), 36 Chowringhee Lane (1981), Vijeta (1982) and Utsav (1984).
He also produced and directed a fantasy film titled Ajooba which had Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor in the lead role.
In 2011,
Shashi Kapoor was honoured with Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India.
He is also a recipient of three National Film Awards.

संसद के बाहर भीइस आर्डिनेंस का विरोध जारी है किसानों के प्रति मोदी सरकार पर उपेक्षा का भाव अपनाने के आरोप लगाते हुए सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अन्ना हजारे ने संसद का बजट सत्र शुरू होने के साथ ही आज विवादास्पद भूमि अधिग्रहण अध्यादेश के खिलाफ दो दिवसीय आंदोलन की शुरूआत कर दी है अनेकों किसान मोर्चों के साथ ही दिल्ली के मुख्य मंत्री अरविन्द केजरीवाल ने भी धरने पर बैठने की मंजूरी दे दी है
लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भूमि अधिग्रहण को एक अच्छा अध्यादेश बताया है।

Lala Lajpat Rai,Popularly Known As Punjab Kesari was an Indian Punjabi author and politician who is chiefly remembered as a leader in the Indian fight for independence from the British Raj.He was also associated with activities of Punjab National Bank and Lakshmi Insurance Company in early stages. He sustained serious injuries by the police when leading a non-violent protest against the Simon Commission and died less than three weeks later.
Lala Lajpat Rai was born on 28 January 1865 in Dhudike (now in Moga district, Punjab) & had his initial education in Government Higher Secondary School, Rewari (now in Haryana, previously in Punjab) He was a devotee of Arya Samaj and was editor of Arya Gazette, which he set up during his student time He Became Member of Indian National Congress, and started taking part in political agitation in the Punjab,
Lajpat Rai lived in the United States, but he returned to India in 1919 and in the following year led the special session of the Congress Party that launched the nonco-operation movement. Imprisoned from 1921 to 1923, he was elected to the legislative assembly on his release
In 1928, the British government set up the Commission, headed by Sir John Simon, to report on the political situation in India. The Indian political parties boycotted the Commission, because it did not include a single Indian in its membership, and it met with country-wide protests. Lajpat Rai led silent march in protest against it. The superintendent of police, James A. Scott, ordered the police to lathi charge the protesters and personally assaulted Rai Despite being injured, Rai subsequently addressed the crowd and said that “I declare that the blows struck at me today will be the last nails in the coffin of British rule in India He did not fully recover from his injuries and died on 17 November 1928 Bhagat Singh vowed to take revenge and joined other revolutionaries,

In his Campaigning Diary B J P Leader Jaitley Said “The first round of polling is a few hours away. Polling is spread out over five weeks. A week is also a long time in politics. My appeal to the BJP supporters all over the country is that no election is over till the last vote is polled. Jaitley Ensured that The BJP is the clear front-runner with its allies. In the dying hours of the campaign before the polling in each state, the groundswell for Narendra Modi, the BJP/NDA, and the desire for change is becoming clearer. This takes the shape of a strong undercurrent which is commonly referred to as a “Wave”.
While encouraging Party Workers For A last minute push ,Jaitley said Complacency and over confidence are always counterproductive. The people we meet on the road to success are the same that will meet when the going is not so good. Modesty in victory and graciousness in adversity are the hallmarks of the political maturity. A last minute push by the party supporters is capable of taking the NDA into 300 seat range. I am expecting good news of yet another alliance in a prominent South Indian state. That will add to the overall momentum. The party supporters must measure their wards. We must remain focused on campaign issue and avoid controversies. The going is good. We should not take our eyes off the ball.

Arun Jaitley In His Blog Said That Natural Resources are Now a part of Jharkhand Which Was Separated From Bihar Hence Special Status Is mandatory For A Bihar Like State Blogger Jaitley Said “There are several states in the Eastern part of the country which economically have not progressed in comparison to the others. These States have also suffered from natural disadvantages. Their resource mobilization itself has been inadequate. It is therefore natural that these States aspire to get a special category status which will ensure higher central revenues and grants.
Bihar has been one such State which has been aspiring for a special category status. On account of division of the original Bihar between Bihar and Jharkhand, natural resources became a part of Jharkhand. The NDA government in all these years in Bihar had repeatedly demanded a special category status for Bihar. Amongst the political parties of Bihar there is a near consensus on this issue. The Congress in the last two years has held an olive branch to the JD(U) that it was willing to consider the grant of special category status to Bihar
While Targeting Double Standard Of Ruling U P A Jaitley said ” In the 2013 General Budget speech the Finance Minister had in fact indicated that the Government would constitute a committee in order to favourably consider the grant of special category status to Bihar. This assurance was more political than being linked to the economic necessities of Bihar.The intention of the UPA was to lead the JD(U) up the garden path that the special category status to Bihar was indeed coming. I do not know how the astute leadership of the JD(U) fell for this. Coincidentally the signaling towards this special category status was also at the same time when the JD(U)- BJP break-up in relationship took place. Once the JD(U) was on its own the special category status did not come. Simultaneously, in the Swayamvar between the RJD and JD(U) the Congress party preferred its old ally. Newspaper reports now indicate that the seat sharing between the RJD and the Congress is somewhat stalemated. The JD(U) has organized a state wide protest to demand the special category status. The media has also indicated that the JD(U) may even now attempt an alliance with the Congress, a party which has already double-crossed it on the special category status.
