Ministry of Civil Aviation has informed that Air India and Jet Airways have issued orders to divert their flights from the conflict zone of Ukraine. This follows a Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777, Flight MH 17 enroute from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur being shot down in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border on Thursday.
The Ministry also said that there was no Air India flight near the ill-fated Malaysian plane at the time of the incident. As per information received so far, there was no Indian aboard the ill- fated plane.

The Jet Airways Board met in Mumbai on Tuesday, 27 May 2014 and agreed to a series of critical measures which will lay the foundations to rebuild the business.
Shri Naresh Goyal, Chairman of Airline said: “We need to take stringent measures to ensure our success in this challenging and competitive aviation industry. There can be no short-term solutions. The changes required will take time to implement.”
Jet Airways today reported a full year operating loss of INR 2,076.2 crores (US$346 million) and a non-cash extraordinary write down of INR 936 crores (US$156 million), aircraft-on-ground of INR 417.6 crores (US$70 million) and impairment of goodwill of INR 700 crores (US$117 million). Total reported losses for the year ended 31 March 2014 amounted to INR 4,129.8 crores (US$689 million).
The airline also announced the appointment of Cramer Ball as its new Chief Executive Officer.*
Mr Ball 46, an Australian national, is a certified accountant and an accomplished airline executive with extensive experience at the highest levels of international, domestic and regional aviation sectors.

उन्होंने प्राचीन भारत में महिलाओं के स्टेटस के विषय में बोलते हुए कहा ” भारत में स्त्रियों ने – राजनीतिक, शैक्षिक और आध्यात्मिक सभी क्षेत्रों में महानता प्राप्त की है। प्राचीन भारत में उन्हें स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त थी और वे सार्वजनिक जीवन में बराबरी के आधार पर भाग लिया करती थी। ऋग्वेद में महिलाओं को ऊंचा स्थान दिया गया है। यत्रनार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते, रमन्ते तत्र देवता यानि जहॉं भी महिलाओं का आदर होता है, देवता वहीं रहते हैं। तैत्रीय उपनिषद में मातृदेवो भव कहा गया है इसका मतलब है आपकी माता आपके लिए देवता की तरह हो” प्रेसिडेंट ने स्वामी विवेकानन्द को कोट करते हुए कहा ” जिस देश में भी नारियों को सम्मान दिया जाता है वह महान बनता है”
“भारतीय संविधान में भी स्त्रियों की समानता पर जोर दिया गया है। संविधान में ही नहीं बल्कि भारतीय राष्ट्र में भी महिलाओं को बराबरी का दर्जा हासिल है। यहां राज्य ऐसे सक्रिय उपाय करता है जिससे लिंग आधारित भेदभाव नहीं होता। महिला सशक्तिकरण को ऐसा तत्व माना जाना चाहिए जिससे लिंग समानता की ओर हमारे प्रयास जाहिर ही न हों, बल्कि वे राष्ट्र निर्माण में उनके पूरी तरह शामिल होने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएं।
हमें एक समाज के रूप में महिलाओं के प्रति नकारात्मक अवधारणा बदलने के लिए मिलकर काम करना चाहिए। महिलाओं को सुरक्षित और अनुकूल वातावरण मिलना चाहिए जहां उनकी प्रतिभा प्रस्फुटित हो और वे राष्ट्र निर्माण में पूरी तरह योगदान दे सकें। महिलाओं के इस अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस पर हम सब महिला दिवस मनाने से हमारे समाज के हर सदस्य मे महिलाओं के लिए सर्वोच्च सम्मान की भावना बढ़े।

Vice President Of the Airlines Ragini Chopra has stated that “airline will offer its lady travellers a special 10% discount on base fares for international travel on the airlines network and a 10% discount on base fare and fuel surcharge (excluding applicable taxes) on domestic services operated by Jet Airways and JetKonnect. Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, will introduce a daily ATR 72-500 flight between Vadodara and Pune via Indore with effect from 15th January, 2014. The airline currently operates a daily flight from Vadodara to Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Tirupati via Mumbai.
Vice President Ragini Chopra has stated in a press release that Jet Airways flight 9W 2822 will depart Pune at 1105 hrs and arrive Indore at 1255 hrs. The flight will depart Indore at 1355 hrs and arrive Vadodara at 1500 hrs. On the return leg, the flight 9W 2821 will depart Vadodara at 1530 hrs and arrive Indore at 1635 hrs. The flight will depart Indore at 1705 hrs and arrive Pune at 1845 hrs.
However, only on Saturdays, the flight 9W 2822 will depart Pune at 1015 hrs and arrive Indore at 1145 hrs. The flight will depart Indore at 1355 hrs and arrive Vadodara at 1500 hrs. On the return leg, the flight 9W 2821 will depart Vadodara at 1530 hrs and arrive Indore at 1635 hrs. The flight will depart Indore at 1705 hrs and arrive Pune at 1845 hrs.
