भारत के राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी ने अंतरास्ट्रीय महिला दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर अपने संदेश में कहा
“अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस मनाने से हमें महिलाओं की सुरक्षा और कल्याण के प्रति नई प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त करने का अवसर मिलता है। महिलाओं के हितों के संरक्षण के लिए अनेक कानून होते हुए भी इस दिशा में अभी बहुत कुछ किया जाना शेष है। केवल कानून से महिलाओं का उद्धार नहीं किया जा सकता।
आइए इस वर्ष के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस पर हम यह संकल्प लें कि हम भारत की महिलाओं के जीवन को बेहतर बनाने और उनके लिए अधिक संभावनाएं पैदा करने के लिए काम करेंगे। हमें यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहिए कि हर हाल में महिलाओं की गरिमा और उनका सम्मान बरकरार रहे”’ अपने इस सन्देश में प्रेजिडेंट मुखर्जी ने गुरुदेव रबीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर के महिला कल्याणकारी उद्गारों को भी व्यक्त किया

[New Delhi]President inaugurates New Motor Garage For Official Vehicles Of Rashtrapati Bhavan in The President’s Estate
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee today inaugurated a new Motor Garage and Stores for official vehicles of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the President’s Estate.
70 cars can be parked in basement while 8 cars of President’s fleet will have parking space on the ground floor of the new Garage and Stores which has been constructed as per the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan of President’s Estate prepared by INTACH.
The project has been built in accordance with universal ‘Green Building’ norms and consists of basement and ground floor. It has a dedicated oil and grease separator plant for cleaning water before discharging to the Sewage Treatment Plant.

2. Dr. Krishan Kant Paul, Governor of Meghalaya is transferred and appointed as Governor of Uttarakhand for the remainder of his term. Dr. Krishan Kant Paul will continue to hold the additional charge of the office of the Governor of Manipur, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
3. Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, will discharge the functions of the Governor of Meghalaya, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.

केसरी नाथ त्रिपाठी को प बंगाल के साथ बिहार के राजयपाल का भी अतिरिक्त प्रभार राष्ट्रपति ने पश्चिम बंगाल के राज्यपाल श्री केशरी नाथ त्रिपाठी को बिहार का अतिरिक्त प्रभार दिया है। बिहार के राज्यपाल डॉ. डी.वाई. पाटिल का कार्यकाल 26 नवंबर, 2014 को पूरा हो रहा है। नियमित व्यवस्था के होने तक श्री केशरी नाथ त्रिपाठी बिहार के राज्यपाल का अतिरिक्त प्रभार संभालेंगे।
