वयोवृद्ध मुख्य मंत्री प्रकाश सिंह बदल ने पाने अनुभवों का इस्तेमाल करते हुए वकीलों को रिझाने के लिए अनेकों रियायतों का एलान कर दिया है
मालूम हो के राज्य २०१७ में विधानसभा चुनाव होने जा रहे हैं |इससे पहले के चुनावी आचार संहिता की बंदिश लगे उससे पहले ही वकीलों को रिझाने की कोशिश शुरू हो गई है|
मुख्यमंत्री सरदार प्रकाश सिंह बादल ने
[१]वकीलों के लिए जीवन बीमा की राशि में बढ़ोतरी करने और
[२]मोहाली में वकीलों को फ्लैट मुहैया कराने या
[३]अवासीय सोसाइटी बनाने के लिए उपयुक्त जमीन आवंटित करने का आज एलान किया।
बादल ने पंजाब हरियाणा और चंडीगढ़ के बार काउंसिल द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम में कहा कि
जीवन बीमा की राशि 4.80 रूपये से बढ़ाकर 10 लाख रूपये होगी और एडवोकेट जनरल को इस बाबत सारी औपचारिकताएं जल्द से जल्द पूरी करने का निर्देश दिया गया है।
इस कार्यक्रम में 200 वकीलों को लाइसेंस दिए गए हैं।
बीमा की राशि बढ़ाना वकील समुदाय की प्रमुख मांग रही है।
उन्होंने कहा कि बीमा की राशि की सीमा बढ़ाने के संबंध में अध्यादेश जल्दी जारी किया जाएगा ताकि उन तक इसका लाभ पहुंच सके

The Punjab Government has issued a communiqué to all the Heads of the Departments and Divisional Commissioners that no reservation would be made in ‘A’ and ‘B’ blocks of the Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi from 29th April (Afternoon) till 2nd May (Forenoon) in view of the pest control exercise.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today accused the SAD-BJP government in Punjab of “not being serious” about “eliminating” the drug problem, which he said was a “serious issue” in the state.
Rahul told reporters today.”The drug problem is a very serious issue in Punjab and it has always been a serious one. But the Akali government has ignored it,”
Gandhi Taking a dig at the Akali government, said when he had raised the issue of drug problem in Punjab, the SAD-BJP dispensation had made fun of him.
Reacting to the accusation by SAD-BJP combine about drug problem claims being an insult to Punjab, Gandhi said “Nobody can insult Punjab.
Punjab is the heart of the country. Punjab gives life to the country. There is a place for Punjab in my heart. I want to help Punjab,”
He said if Congress forms the government in Punjab after the 2017 Assembly polls, the state will witness rapid development.
The Congress Vice President also demanded that there should be no delay in disbursal of payment to wheat-growers for their produce.
Gandhi, however, refused to comment on the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal issue, saying the matter is sub-judice.
Gandhi’s meeting with party leaders was out of bounds for the media.
Almost 2,000-2,500 party members, including sitting MLAs, MPs, ex-MLAs, block presidents, and other Congress office- bearers attended the meeting, which was organised by poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s organisation, Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC).
Congress aims to wrest power in Punjab in 2017 after setbacks in the 2007 and 2012 polls, when it was defeated by the SAD-BJP coalition.

Punjab government today decided to slash admission charges from Rs 200 to Rs 50 for patients coming to state-owned drug rehabilitation centres.
The decision was taken by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while presiding over the third meeting of the State Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Board this morning.
However, the charges for de-addiction would continue at the nominal rate of Rs 200 per day, which would include cost of medicine, diet and all other expenses.
Badal said the decision was taken so that maximum people inflicted with drug addiction could seek the best treatment in these centres and could be properly rehabilitated to lead a life with self respect and dignity
He has assured that the drug rehabilitation centres would be compensated for this deficit through Cancer and Drug De-addiction Treatment Infrastructure (CADA) fund.
During the meeting, the CM was updated on the status of model drug de-addiction centres and was told that out of five such centres four at Bathinda+Faridkot+Jalandhar + Amritsar have been made functional and another at Patiala was under construction.
Badal asked the Chief Secretary to visit few central jails along with Additional Chief Secretary (Home), ADGP (Jails) and Director State Narcotics Control Bureau to examine the cases of prisoners/under-trials under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and submit the report within a month,

[Faridkot,Punjab]Dy CM Badal Gets Relief in a 17 Years Old Case Of Poll Violence
A court today acquitted Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in a case which was registered against him and others in 2006 in connection with poll violence in 1999.
Judicial Magistrate, Satish Kumar, acquitted Sukhbir, who is also ruling Shiromani Akali Dal President, for insufficient evidence.
Sukhbir today appeared in the court here in connection with the case.
Naresh Sehgal, a Kotkapura resident, had filed a case against Sukhbir and a few others in connection with the poll violence that took place in Kotkapura in 1999 when Sukhbir Singh Badal had contested the parliamentary elections from Faridkot.
The case against Sukhbir and others was registered on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the year 2006 after Sehgal had approached the court.
The high court had put a stay on the case in September 2008 but it was vacated by a single-judge bench on December 21 last year.

[चंडीगढ़,पंजाब] विलम्बित अविश्वास प्रस्ताव को अनुमति नहीं मिलने से कांग्रेस ने पंजाब विधानसभा से किया बहिर्गमन
पंजाब में विपक्षी कांग्रेस ने आज विधानसभा के अध्यक्ष द्वारा राज्य की अकाली दल+भाजपा गठबंधन सरकार के खिलाफ अविश्वास प्रस्ताव को अनुमति नहीं देने के बाद सदन से हंगामा करते हुए बहिर्गमन किया।
विधानसभा अध्यक्ष चरणजीत सिंह अटवाल के अनुसार इस तरह के प्रस्ताव के संबंध में नोटिस सत्र शुरू होने से कम से कम एक घंटे पहले उनके पास पहुंचना चाहिए जबकि विपक्ष के नेता चरणजीत सिंह चन्नी इस बात पर अड़े थे कि उन्होंने नियमानुसार ही ऐसा किया।
चन्नी ने कहा, ‘मुख्यमंत्री को पद पर बने रहने का कोई हक नहीं है। मैं मुख्यमंत्री और उनकी मंत्रिपरिषद के खिलाफ अविश्वास प्रस्ताव लाया हूं।‘’
विधानसभा अध्यक्ष का विपक्ष से स्पष्ट कहना था कि उनके प्रस्ताव को निरस्त कर दिया गया है।
अटवाल ने कहा, ‘‘मुझे अभी प्रस्ताव का नोटिस मिला है। मुझे यह विधानसभा की शुरूआत से कम से कम एक घंटे पहले मिलना चाहिए था

Burning In Jat Quota Stir Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said his government has returned the cheque for Rs 191.75 crore “in original” which Punjab had sent yesterday for Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.
The Punjab Cabinet had on Tuesday decided to dispatch a cheque for Rs 191.75 crore back to Haryana which had sent it towards construction of the SYL canal. The cheque was dispatched yesterday.
The Haryana government has also moved an application in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on Punjab government’s recent move on SYL canal issue.
In a statement in the Haryana Assembly, Khattar said, “The bill concerning SYL canal has not yet been signed by the Governor.”
Punjab Assembly had on Monday passed the Punjab Satluj Yamuna Link Canal Land (Transfer of Proprietary Rights) Bill, 2016, which aims to de-notify the land acquired for construction of SYL canal, a lingering dispute between the two neighbouring states.
Khattar said he has also spoken to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and expressed his displeasure over Punjab Government’s move on the SYL canal.
Noting that Haryana government has shown strong resentment over Punjab’s unconstitutional move on SYL canal issue, Khattar said he has returned the cheque to Punjab government.
The Haryana Chief Minister said since Punjab government’s move on SYL canal is unconstitutional, he has requested Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki not to give assent to the bill.

Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh today rubbished the state government’s claim that its revenue has improved during the last nine years of SAD+BJP Rule and termed them as “false and baseless”.

The state government has been giving out full-page advertisements in vernacular and English dailies for the past few days claiming Punjab’s finances are sound and revenue has increased in the past nine years.
Referring to Sukhbir Badal’s claim of having increased state’s revenue as compared to the Congress regime’s (between 2002 and 2007), Amarinder said the SAD-BJP government has increased VAT by several times – ranging between 6-15 per cent – on many items, compared to two percent during his (Amarinder’s) rule.
“The fact of the matter is the development has come to a standstill and the rates of land have fallen by more than 70 per cent and still Sukhbir will try to make people believe that all is well,” he said.
He said the main source of revenue is manufacturing amd claimed it has gone down during the last nine years as most of the industries in Punjab have either shut down or shifted out
