पश्चिम बंगाल के कुल्टी में एक अवैध कोयला खान में कोयला निकालते समय तीन लोग उसमें फंस गए।
‘ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड’ (ईसीएल) का बचाव दल पश्चिम बर्धमान जिला स्थित खान में जहरीली गैस के कारण अंदर नहीं घुस पा रहा है।
स्थानीय लोगों ने बताया कि घटना रविवार रात को उस समय हुई जब चार लोग कोयला निकाल रहे थे।

जिसके पश्चात ममता बनजी राज्यपाल से मिल कर सरकार बनाने का दावा पेश करने के लिए राज भवन गयीं
गौरतलब हे के जनता ने एक बार फिर ममता बनर्जी के नाम जनादेश दिया है और तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने दो तिहाई बहुमत के साथ बंगाल की बादशाहत हासिल की है ।

पश्चिम बंगाल के चुनावी इतिहास का अब तक का संभवत: सबसे लंबा विधानसभा चुनाव संपन्न होने के बाद से ही सबकी नजर मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी के भविष्य पर टिक गयी थी और आज नतीजें सामने आने के साथ ही यह तय हो गया कि ममता ‘दीदी’ की पार्टी की बंगाल पर पकड़ बनी हुई है। वाममोर्चा एवं कांग्रेस गठबंधन की रणनीति सफल नहीं रही और यह ‘परिवर्तन’ की बयार लाने में नाकाम साबित हुई ।
चुनाव में पहली बार ऐसे 9776 मतदाताओं को अपने मताधिकार के प्रयोग का हक मिला जो भारत और बांग्लादेश के बीच क्षेत्र की अदला बदली के बाद भारत के नागरिक बने।

TMC Led West Bengal government today made it mandatory for all establishments to grant paid holidays to their employees on the day of polling in their areas.
Polling to 294 assembly seats will be held in six phases beginning April 4. The last polling day is May 5.
An exemption to the above holiday has however been granted to fuelling stations.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee [After Declassifying The 64 Files Related To Netaji]said that the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose files have letters showing he might have been alive after 1945 when he mysteriously disappeared and that his family was snooped upon.
She also demanded that the Centre declassify files relating to the nationalist leader who went missing mysteriously 70 years ago.
“There are letters in the files where some people had said that Netaji might have been alive after 1945 (when he reportedly died in a plane crash),” Banerjee, who visited Kolkata Police Museum where the 64 declassified files are kept,

“I did not get much time to go through the files. I have seen a bit of it and I have seen letters which were intercepted even after 1945 and documents which indicated that Netaji’s family was snooped upon,”
Demanding that the Centre declassify files with it on Netaji, she said it is unfortunate that the mystery regarding his disappearance has remained unresolved for 70 long years.
She said “We do not know what happened (to Netaji). It is unfortunate. How long you can keep it under secrecy ?”
“This (declassification of Netaji files by her government) is the beginning of the future. The people should know the truth. Let the Central government also declassify the files on Netaji.
Asked to comment on the perception that India’s relations with some countries might be affected if files on Netaji with the Centre were declassified, the chief minister said, “Now we have got independence. There is no harm in honouring those leaders who got us independence. We should salute them. Before declassifying the files we have seen that internationally nothing will happen. If we have bilateral relation with a country it is necessary to review it.”
On questions whether there was any attempt to hide something, she said, “What you can guess, I can also. Let the country face the reality. There is nothing to hide. Why don’t you (Centre) declassify the files ?”
On whether there might be law and order problem after the declassification, she said, “I don’t think there will be any. It is a mere excuse. If there is any law and order problem, we are there to tackle it.

सीएम सुश्री ममता बनर्जी ने अपने वायदे को अमली जामा पहनाते हुए नेताजी सुभाष चन्द्र से जुड़ी 64 फाइलें सार्वजनिक कर दी इसके साथ ही उन्होंने ऐसा करने के लिए केंद्र को ,चुनौती भी दे डाली
प बं सरकार ने आज नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस से जुड़ी वे 64 फाइलें सार्वजनिक कर दीं हैं, जो उनके रहस्यमय ढंग से लापता हो जाने पर कुछ रोशनी डाल सकती हैं। वहीं मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कहा है कि केंद्र को भी बोस से जुड़ी फाइलें सार्वजनिक कर देनी चाहिए।
12,744 पन्नों वाली 64 फाइलें बोस के परिवार के सदस्यों की मौजूदगी में प्रदर्शित की गईं। बोस के परिवार के सदस्य यह मांग करते रहे हैं कि उनसे जुड़ी जो जानकारी आज तक गोपनीय बनाकर रखी गई, उसे सार्वजनिक किया जाना चाहिए।
शहर के पुलिस आयुक्त सुरजीत पुरकायस्थ ने कहा कि इन फाइलों को कोलकाता पुलिस संग्रहालय में कांच के बक्सों में प्रदर्शित किया गया और सोमवार से आम जनता की पहुंच इन तक होगी।
64 फाइलों में से 55 फाइलें कोलकाता पुलिस के पास हैं जबकि नौ अन्य फाइलें राज्य की पुलिस के पास हैं।
पुरकायस्थ ने फाइलों के डिजीटलीकृत प्रारूप वाली डीवीडी नेताजी के परिवार के सदस्यों को सौंपी।
पुलिस संग्रहालय का दौरा करके आने वाली मुख्यमंत्री बनर्जी ने ट्वीट किया, ‘‘आज एक ऐतिहासिक दिन है। हमारी सरकार ने नेताजी की सभी फाइलंे सार्वजनिक कर दी हैं। लोगों को भारत के बहादुर बेटे के बारे में जानने का अधिकार है।’’ बाद में उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘हमने एक शुरूआत की है। लोगों को सच पता चलना चाहिए। केंद्र सरकार को भी :नेताजी से जुड़ी: फाइलें सार्वजनिक करनी चाहिएं। हम सभी में सद्बुद्धि आए। आप सच को दबा नहीं सकते। सच को बाहर आने दें।’’

The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Kumari Mamata Banerjee Visited the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi Today
The PM Assured visiting CM that Centre will leave no stone unturned for WB’s progress.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Km. Mamata Banerjee, met the Prime Minister today in Parliament House. Subsequently, a delegation of MPs from the Trinamool Congress along with the Chief Minister met the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, Chief Minister of West Bengal raised the debt problem that the state was facing, most of which was a result of the actions of past governments. This debt burden, leading to high interest payments, was affecting development expenditure in West Bengal. She asked for debt relief and relief from interest payments. She was also concerned about pending releases.
The Prime Minister explained that he is a firm believer in Cooperative Federalism. He has constantly been saying that only strong states can make a strong India and therefore, states must be strengthened to meet development needs of their people.
West Bengal and Kolkata have to develop, for their own sake, and for the benefit of the region. That is why we have the “Act East” policy. The region has talented people and a lot of resources. The Prime Minister stated that he is fully committed for West Bengal`s and Kolkata`s development.
It is with this in view that the Central Government has agreed to devolve 42% of the divisible pool of taxes to states for the next five years. The major benefits that come to West Bengal are:
Five Years 2015-2020
a]The tax devolution in the next five years, from 2015-16 to 2019-20 will be around Rs.2,90,000 crore as compared to Rs.1,06,000 crore in the last five years. This is an increase of Rs.1,80,000 crore, i.e., 174%.
b]West Bengal’s share of taxes has been increased from 7.264% to 7.324%.
c]Most importantly, West Bengal is getting a Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs 8,449 crore in 2015-16 and a total Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs 11,760 crore. The only other non-special category states getting this grant are Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The Revenue Deficit Grant takes into account the interest burden on the state because of debt.
d]Therefore, the total Additional Resources going to West Bengal over the next five years [tax devolution and FC grants] will rise by Rs.2,05,900 crore, an increase of 174% compared to the last five years. They will rise from Rs 1.18 lakh crores to Rs 3.24 lakh crores.
2015-16
e]The tax devolution to West Bengal in 2015-16 will rise by Rs 13,000 crore compared to 2014-15. It was Rs 25,340 crore in 2014-15 and is estimated to be Rs 38,461 crore in 2015-16 West Bengal is getting a Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs 8,449 crore in 2015-16. There are also grants to Local Bodies which have almost doubled.
g]If all these transfers are put together, on a year to year basis, the increase in resources to West Bengal will be Rs 22,000 crores in 2015-16 compared to 2014-15, an increase of 80%.
On the problem of debt, the Prime Minister said that you have inherited a large burden. We too have inherited a large burden. The Centre and States have to collectively find a solution to this. In any case, the 14th Finance Commission has taken into account the interest burden on states and has fully compensated the revenue deficit arising as a result of this. This is why West Bengal is getting an additional Revenue Deficit Grant along with only two other non-Special Category States. Therefore, interest burden should not affect development activities any more in future.
The additional financial resources being made available by the Central Government from the current fiscal onwards will substantially improve the position of the State to discharge interest liability and free up funds for developmental activities to boost growth.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that, the Union Government has decided to give West Bengal the royalty on coal and other minerals. This will provide a benefit of Rs 1,600 crore to the state annually. In addition, West Bengal will get Rs 11,200 crore from the coal blocks that have been auctioned so far and there will even more revenue in future.
In this scenario, West Bengal is better placed as compared to the past and has adequate funds to meet its development needs fully.
On the issue of releasing funds under MNREGA,
the Prime Minister assured that this scheme is fully provided for. West Bengal has already received Rs 3,744 crores this year and pending claims of Rs 1,500 crore will be settled in March itself.
