[New Delhi] 1.5 Million Indians Fought In First World War And 74000 Made Supreme Sacrifice
Indian Army is Commemorating the Centenary of the First World War from 10 Mar to 14 Mar 2015 in New Delhi in memory of the 1.5 million Indian Soldiers who fought in the war and over 74000 who made the supreme sacrifice.
10th March[Today] coincides with the Battle of Neuve Chapelle marking the British Offensive in Artois region of France in which the Garhwal Brigade & Meerut Division of the Indian Corps participated. The time period 2014 to 2018 is being commemorated as the Centenary of World War-1.
As part of the Commemorative Events, a wreath was laid at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate by The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi +Raksha Mantri,+Rajya Raksha Mantri+Service Chiefs+ Defence Secretary and senior serving officers of the Regiments that took part in the War, also graced the occasion.
A Commemorative Exhibition is also being held at Manekshaw Centre from 10 to 14 Mar 2015.

251st Anniversary of “Sarve Santu Niramaya”Armed Forces Medical Services
[New Delhi]To Mark 251st Anniversary of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Homage Ceremony Organised at Amar Jawan Jyoti, During the recent flash floods in J&K, over 100 medical teams of AFMS were mobilized for providing medical aid to more than 95,000 flood affected civilian population
On the occasion of 251st Anniversary of AFMS, the Chief of Army Staff Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag visited the Research + Referral (RR) Hospital + Base Hospital to interact with the patients and wished them good health and early recovery in the new year.
A Homage Ceremony was also organised at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate today. Wreaths were laid by the Lieutenant General BK Chopra, Director General AFMS and Senior Colonel Commandant and the three Director General’s Medical Service of Army, Navy and Air Force to pay homage to the martyrs.
The Medical Services of Army, Navy and Air Force under the unified umbrella of Armed Forces Medical Services have a rich heritage. The health care system continues to strive and preserve the health, fitness and the indomitable spirit of our soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families in both war and peace besides its care to the veterans. In remote and forward areas these services are extended to Para Military Forces and civilians too.
The AFMS has delivered selfless and dedicated service in providing aid to civil authorities in UN Peace Keeping Missions and natural or manmade disasters. During the recent flash floods in J&K, over 100 medical teams of AFMS were mobilized for providing medical aid to more than 95,000 flood affected civilian population, which were highly appriciated. Over the years, AFMS has earned a formidable reputation in India and abroad and have always lived up to the motto, `Sarve Santu Niramaya`.

Visiting Chief honoured the sacrifice made by our soldiers by laying a wreath at ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’
Visiting Rear Admiral Ng Chee Peng, called on Admiral RK Dhowan, Earlier in the day, Thereafter, he was received at the South Block lawns by Admiral RK Dhowan with the traditional ‘Guard of Honour’.
,Visit of Singapore Naval Chief is expected to intensify the cooperation between both navies and strengthen historical ties between both navies.
Incidentally, 2014-15 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore.
. The interaction between the Armed forces of the two countries has been historic, since both countries operated together in various campaigns during the Second World War. Presently, Singapore has a Defence Cooperation Agreement besides a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement with India. Visiting Chief Interacted With Indian C O A S also

उन्होंने फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति की फरवरी, 2013 में भारत यात्रा के दौरान किए गए आपसी रक्षा सहयोग के लिए विभिन्न उपायों की स्थिति और विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में प्रगति की समीक्षा भी की। श्री ड्राएन भारत के रक्षा मंत्री के आमंत्रण पर 25-27 जुलाई, 2013 तक भारत की आधिकारिक यात्रा पर हैं।
अतिथि रक्षा मंत्री ने दोनों देशों के बीच सामरिक भागीदारी को रक्षा सहयोग में एक महत्वपूर्ण स्तंभ तथा दोनों देशों के बीच जारी वार्ता और सहयोग को लाभकारी बताया।
उन्होंने सैन्य शिक्षा और प्रशिक्षण तथा सैन्य अभ्यास आयोजित करने सहित संबंधित रक्षा संस्थानों और सशस्त्र बलों के बीच आदान-प्रदान जारी रहने पर सहमति जताई।
इस संदर्भ में दोनों मंत्रियों ने फ्रांस में सितंबर 2013 में दोनों देशों की सेनाओं की होने वाली द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास ‘शक्ति’ का स्वागत किया।
दोनों मंत्रियों की रक्षा उपकरणों तथा प्रौद्योगिकी सहकार्य के क्षेत्रों में सहयोग पर विस्तार से चर्चा हुई। उन्होंने इस पर सहमति व्यक्त की कि दोनों देशों के साक्षा हित की प्रगति के लिए ऐसे सहयोग जारी रहने चाहिए।

दोनों मंत्रियों ने रक्षा सहयोग पर एक उच्च समिति गठित की है जिसकी बैठक अक्टूबर, 2013 में फ्रांस में होगी। इस बैठक में आपसी भागीदारी को मज़बूत करने तथा बढ़ाने के लिए व्यावहारिक उपायों को अंतिम रूप दिया जाएगा।

१९९९ में पाकिस्तानी फौजों ने कारगिल की ऊंची पहाड़ियों पर कब्जा कर लिया था | भारतीय सेना ने पराक्रम दिखाते हुए पाकिस्तन की सेना को खदेड़ा और विजय प्राप्त की |इस एतिहासिक विजय को प्राप्त करने के लिए भारतीय सैनिकों ने बड़ी संख्या में सर्वोच्च बलिदान किया |इस स्मृति में प्रतिवर्ष २६ जुलाई को कारगिल विजय दिवस मनाया जाता है|
